Courtyard House: My Time Travel is a Bit Too Strong
Chapter 586 Becoming a Father
"Gathering a crowd of armed men in broad daylight, thinking they can survive? That's unlikely."
Lin Quan took out his phone and dialed a number.
"Get out here!" A thug in a blue jacket swung a steel pipe and smashed the driver's side window.
The glass remained completely still—not even a mark was left on the bulletproof layer.
Lin Quan pushed open the car door, shoved it with his backhand, and fired a shot. The gun was already loaded and the safety had been released.
The bullet pierced the air, and nine people fell to the ground, dark red marks blooming between their brows.
"He's running low on bullets! Charge!" roared the man with snakes coiled around his arm.
The magazine change was swift and decisive, and the gunshot rang out again.
"I admit defeat! Spare my life!" The thug in the yellow short-sleeved shirt knelt down with a thud, his forehead touching the ground.
Seeing this, the remaining men all slammed their knees into the concrete.
"Over there, lie down and line up in a row. Whoever moves, I'll send them on their way first." Lin Quan slightly raised the muzzle of his gun, sweeping it across the trembling back of the neck.
As soon as those words were spoken, the seven thugs who were still alive immediately knelt down and lay prostrate in a row.
Lin Quan climbed back into the car, the door clicked shut, and then dialed Wang Zhennan's number.
The call I just made was to 110.
As soon as the gunshots rang out, several cars behind them swerved and drove away without saying a word.
Several drivers, while pressing the accelerator, took out their phones and called the police one after another.
Less than twenty minutes later, three police cars arrived with sirens blaring, their red and blue lights flashing rapidly on the roadside.
"Hands behind your head, get out of the car immediately!" Thirty-five-year-old Chen Ming raised his gun and aimed, his voice cold and hard.
Lin Quan didn't move, but slowly handed his documents out the car window and laid them on the glass.
Chen Ming glanced at it, put away his gun, took two steps back, and took out his phone to dial a number.
The Tank 500 SUV was completely surrounded by four dusty bread trucks.
In this situation, pushing upwards is the safest course of action.
After waiting for another ten minutes or so, Chen Ming approached again, his tone softening: "Mr. Lin."
"Move the car in front, I'm in a hurry," Lin Quan said.
"Yes." He nodded, turned around and waved, calling two colleagues to move the car.
Lin Quan started the car and drove away; the rest would be handled by someone else.
Twenty-four men, wielding steel pipes and machetes, charged at him—the nature of this incident is self-evident.
An hour later, at the entrance of the First Hospital of Haizhou City Central District.
More than a dozen uniformed men took Wu Ming, Wu Wei, and Xue Yan away on the spot.
"On what grounds are you arresting people?" Wu Wei roared.
"Hiring someone to injure you? And you're asking what gives you the right?" Wang Zhendong, the team leader, smirked, his smile devoid of any warmth.
"I'm the one who found them! It has nothing to do with those two!" Wu Wei shouted.
"Whether it matters or not, we'll investigate." Wang Zhendong didn't even lift his eyelids.
"I'm going to sue you! I know you..." Before he could finish speaking, his voice suddenly rose, filled with malice.
"Stop talking nonsense and let's go." Wang Zhendong interrupted directly, his voice like a block of iron hitting the ground.
The following afternoon, Lin Quan stepped into the headquarters building of Huaxia Industrial Group.
"Mr. Lin, this is really close. I'll assign you two bodyguards." Wang Zhennan said immediately.
"Who can really protect me?" Lin Quan smiled.
"Xiao Wang and Xiao Li from the security department are among the best in the company in terms of skills..." Wang Zhennan said without hesitation.
"Only those who can beat me are qualified to stand behind me, right?" Lin Quan replied crisply.
"Engineer Lin, you can't fight against so many people. With your position, you can't afford to make any mistakes," Wang Zhennan earnestly advised.
"Okay, you pick thirty. If they beat me, the bodyguard situation is entirely up to you," Lin Quan said.
Wang Zhennan's eyes lit up: "Is it really that certain?"
A dozen minutes later, Lin Quan stood in the center of the empty warehouse.
Without hesitation, Wang Zhennan gave the security team a wink and immediately ordered, "Attack together."
Lin Quan didn't dodge or evade; his attacks were so fast they were just afterimages—one after another, in the blink of an eye, all thirty people were lying on the ground, their breathing erratic.
Wang Zhennan stood frozen in place, his mouth slightly open, unable to close it for a long time.
"Chairman Wang, let's go to the office, I have something for you," Lin Quan said.
"Okay." He finally snapped out of his daze, a smile appearing on his face.
Upon entering the office, Lin Quan took out a portable hard drive.
"What's inside?" Wang Zhennan asked.
"Several technical simulations have not yet been tested," Lin Quan replied.
"Thanks!" Wang Zhennan's voice trembled, his eyes shining.
"If there's nothing else, I'll head back to Haizhou." Lin Quan stood up.
"Let's have a couple of drinks tonight, and leave tomorrow morning," Wang Zhennan said, reaching out to persuade him to stay.
Seventeen thugs fell to the ground, seventeen bullets were fired, and a report had to be written.
After submitting the materials, he went to collect the new ammunition.
"Three magazines, twenty-seven rounds, that should be enough."
I made a detour to my SUV and, when no one was looking, quietly put the bullets into my personal storage space.
That evening, Wang Zhennan and Liu Boyuan accompanied him to have dinner in the cafeteria.
After a good night's sleep, Lin Quan drove away from Huaxia Industrial Group the next morning.
Not long after returning to Haizhou, a young woman in her late twenties came to visit.
"Who are you?" Lin Quan asked.
Standing outside the door, Qiao Weiwei asked, "I'm Qiao Weiwei. Do you know Chen Shiyan?"
"Never heard of it." Lin Quan waved his hand, looking completely bewildered.
"Where's Windsor?" Qiao Weiwei asked again.
"We met once last year," he answered readily.
"You bastard! Your child, are you really going to abandon him?" Her voice suddenly rose.
"I have a child?" Lin Quan was stunned. His fingers subconsciously calculated, and his heart suddenly skipped a beat—a surge of joy mixed with a touch of disbelief.
"If it's not yours, does that mean I gave birth to it?" Qiao Weiwei's eyes reddened with anger.
"Where is she?" he asked immediately.
"I don't know!" she said through gritted teeth.
Lin Quan turned around, closed the door, and went straight back to his bedroom to change his clothes.
He has a child. Regardless of the reasons, he has to see him.
Outside the door, Qiao Weiwei raised her hand and slammed it against the door panel.
A moment later, he changed his shoes and clothes and opened the door again.
She suddenly bumped into his arms, her body soft yet resilient, her hair exuding a faint fragrance—but he was completely absorbed, his mind filled only with Chen Shiyan and the child he had never met.
"You—!" she exclaimed, both ashamed and angry.
"Lead the way," he said.
"Dream on." She glared at him and turned to leave.
Lin Quan locked the door behind him, climbed into the bulletproof KE500 tank, and drove off.
Even if she refuses to lead the way, he can still find her.
Having survived countless eras in the illusory world, he had long since ingrained all sorts of secret techniques into his very bones.
For minor techniques like bloodline tracing, this amount of soul power is sufficient to perform them.
The higher the level, the less effort is required.
With an ultimate understanding of the law of cause and effect, one can accurately pinpoint the location of the parent and child with just a trace of soul power.
"Let's go check out Chen's Jewelry Store first."
He stepped on the gas, completely ignoring Qiao Weiwei who was chasing closely in the rearview mirror.
I stopped the car at a flower shop and picked out a bouquet of roses.
Passing by a jewelry store, I casually bought a plain band ring.
When they arrived at Chen's Jewelry Store, the store was empty, and Chen Shiyan was nowhere to be seen.
He closed his eyes, did a quick calculation, turned the car around, and drove off following the mysterious pull of fate.
More than an hour later, he stood in front of a detached villa, clutching the bouquet of flowers in his hand.
