Courtyard House: My Time Travel is a Bit Too Strong

Thinking of how the special operations team watched people like they were prey, Xiao Haiyi immediately decided: strike first.

Special talents require special methods to retain them.

He feared that Lin Quan, a soldier who was skilled in both literature and martial arts and capable of operating on land, sea, and air, might one day be poached by the special forces without even a word.

"With a bachelor's degree, the promotion process is extremely difficult; you have to apply for corporal rank first."

"If you win a second-class merit in the exercise, you can be directly promoted to officer after your two-year service period."

Before he finished speaking, Xiao Haiyi had already started the car and headed straight for the headquarters building.

Lin Quan continued training as usual, and his underwater movements became increasingly skillful.

My body is getting stronger day by day. The growth isn't rapid, but it's definitely going upwards.

Not long after, Zhang Chong arrived, and so did Wu Yun.

Shen Ge would make a trip to the sea training ground every few days.

The wind was incredibly strong that day, and the military flag was suddenly blown away.

The speedboat ran out of fuel halfway through, but they managed to retrieve the flag. However, as soon as they turned around, several speedboats swarmed around them, skimming along the waves... The pirates had arrived.

Lin Quan glanced at the bulge on Thomas's waist but didn't move.

The hard drive is still in their hands, and it's crucial to the whereabouts of the 303 submarine.

The boat contains dozens of national treasure-level antiques, and not a single one can be lost.

He silently boarded the ship, planning to take action once they reached the deserted island, with only one goal: to rescue Shen Ge.

Thomas's men dragged Jiang Xiaoyu away, their hands tied behind her back.

Shen Ge took out her phone and dialed for help.

"You stay here and guard the place, I'll go and rescue them," Lin Quan said.

"Be careful." Shen Ge hugged him tightly.

"Okay." He answered readily and turned to leave.

Jiang Xiaoyu's hands were bound so tightly with hemp rope that they turned purple, and she was thrown into the hold of the fishing boat.

Lin Quan seized the opportunity to smash open the hatch, smashed the guard's nose with an elbow strike, and then grabbed an iron hook and swept it across, knocking down seven or eight pirates on the spot.

Thomas wanted to jump into the sea, but Lin Quan didn't stop him.

He stared at the man's back as he plunged into the water, then touched the dagger at his waist... No gun, no ammunition, but the hard drive on Thomas's body was more precious than his life.

Capture him alive, retrieve the hard drive, and you'll receive at least a second-class merit award.

There are two hard drives, one for storing coordinates and the other for storing encrypted logs.

The 303 submarine was well hidden, but once we got our hands on these two items, we could follow the trail to find the source.

The antiques on the boat are national treasures salvaged from shipwrecks in the early years; losing them would mean a break in the historical record.

If we can bring Thomas back with his hard drive, a first-class merit award is a sure thing.

With more people involved, the credit is diluted; but if he does it all by himself, he'll at least receive a second-class merit award, and it won't be less.

As soon as Shen Ge jumped onto the rescue boat, she grabbed Deng Jiuguang's arm and asked, "Where's Lin Quan?"

"Thomas jumped into the sea and ran away, and he chased after him." Jiang Xiaoyu wiped the water off his face, his voice weak.

"How long have you been down there?"

"...about ten minutes." Jiang Xiaoyu herself wasn't quite sure.

"Don't worry, he's fine," Liu Xiaoshan said confidently.

Deng Jiuguang kept a straight face and didn't reply... Lin Quan only had a dagger on him, and there were guns all around. No one could see him underwater. If something went wrong, there wouldn't even be time to shout.

"Damn, they escaped by boat?"

Lin Quan surfaced and glanced at the course before immediately diving back into the water and accelerating his descent.

He can breathe underwater, so he's not afraid of holding his breath at all.

Thomas swam fast and zigzaggled, so Thomas lost track of him for a moment.

"The direction is right. The boat is small, has little fuel, and can't go far... The hideout will be exposed sooner or later."

Three hours later, an unnamed island emerged from the water.

A man in camouflage pants was squatting on the shore, with an assault rifle slung over his shoulder.

Lin Quan huddled behind the rocks, squinting as he looked closely:

"He's one of Thomas's men."

"A military uniform is too conspicuous; I need to change my attire."

He swallowed a few pieces of fish raw to suppress the churning in his stomach.

Taking advantage of the man's back being turned to urinate, he used a chokehold and joint lock, and with two cracking sounds, the man went limp.

"I've killed chickens, ducks, fish, and shrimp before, this is my first kill... No blood left, I'll just pretend it's asleep."

He took a breath, dragged the body into the crevice, and changed into the other person's clothes.

"Pirates dress casually, but the clothes fit them quite well."

One by one, the outer outposts disappeared.

Lin Quan moved close to the ground, landing silently; his movements were as swift as lightning, the blade grazing his throat, and before he could even react, he was paralyzed on the ground.

There were eight people outside, all of them silent.

There were only three survivors left in the house.

No need to guess... Thomas, plus the two women beside him.

He crouched down and crawled inside, the dagger flashed, and the two women fell to the ground.

Then, with one hand gripping the back of Thomas's neck and the other twisting his wrist, a crisp "crack" was heard, and both arms drooped down.

"Shut up and hand over the money." Lin Quan gripped the dagger, the blade pressed against Thomas's neck.

"No...don't do it! I'll give you as much as you want!" Thomas's Adam's apple bobbed, and he felt a sense of relief.

"Safe, open it." Lin Quan deftly removed the gun and grenade from his waist and stuffed them into his own pocket.

"I can't get any strength in my hands... I really can't move them." Thomas said weakly, his arm outstretched.

"Password." Lin Quan's toes sank, stepping on the soft bone next to his Adam's apple.

With his life hanging by a thread, Thomas didn't dare to take another breath.

The cabinet door popped open, and Lin Quan pulled out a black box, dumping all the contents into his backpack.

"Brother, with your skills, what's a little money compared to what you've got? Come work for me!" Thomas chimed in.

Having obtained the hard drive, Lin Quan remained in the posture of a robber and did not make any further moves.

He retrieved his uniform... The moment he draped the faded, worn-out training uniform over his shoulders, Thomas's face turned pale.

The next second, Thomas's knees and ankles dislocated in succession, and he collapsed on the deck and was dragged onto the speedboat.

With his valuables, hard drive, and satellite phone securely fastened, Lin Quan started the engine, the stern cutting a white wave as the boat headed straight for the return route.

"I need to send a message."

He grabbed the satellite phone and dialed Wuhan Iron and Steel Group.

"What happened?" Long Baichuan's voice came through the receiver.

"Thomas has been captured, and Lin Quan brought back the hard drive you requested," Wu Gang said cheerfully.

"Good!" Long Baichuan slapped his thigh, coughed violently a few times, and blood seeped from the corner of his mouth.

"Shouldn't you get a medical check-up this time?" Wu Gang asked.

"Okay, I'll register tomorrow morning," Long Baichuan agreed readily.

When the ship docked, a group of people were already standing at the pier of the sea training ground.

Shen Ge spotted him at once, took off running, grabbed him tightly, and clenched her fingers around the fabric of his shirt.

"It's alright, Little Fish, is there anything to eat? I'm starving." Lin Quan's voice was hoarse.

"Why don't you tie him up?" Wu Gang frowned.

"With his hands and feet removed, he can't run away," Lin Quan replied calmly.

"To sneak into a pirate's lair alone... that's too reckless."

"I didn't have time to think about it at the time."

"Leave some room for maneuver next time." Wu Gang paused, then didn't continue... Chasing after them was the only way to survive; everyone understood the logic.

Long Baichuan stared at the boxes piled on the ground, stunned for two seconds: "So many?"

"He's the only one left; the rest are all taken down. The stolen money, according to the rules, will all be turned over." Lin Quan smiled.

"How many did you take down?"

"About a hundred, I didn't count them exactly."

"You're taking on over a hundred people single-handedly?" Long Baichuan's scalp tingled.

"They burned three fishing boats and sank two cargo ships. Of the more than twenty fishermen on board, not one came back alive," Lin Quan said in a low voice.

"Go take a shower and have some food first. The report is due tomorrow." Wu Gang patted him on the shoulder.

"Yes!" Lin Quan raised his hand in salute, nodded to Shen Ge, and turned to walk back to the dormitory.
