The Martial Soul Skeleton, in Douluo Continent's Bone-Changing Susanoo

Chapter 55 Ice and Fire Body Refinement, Martial Soul Upgrade

According to the original description, the ice-flying herb located in the center of the extremely cold spring is called the Eight-Cornered Mysterious Ice Grass. It looks like a large white eight-cornered flower. It is a rare and cold flower that can make people feel cold and numb in their central nervous system.

To harvest the Eight-Cornered Ice Grass, one must use metal or other metal objects.

The Fire Immortal Herb, located in the center of the blazing Yangquan shore, is called Fiery Apricot Delicate Sapling. It looks like a cabbage, is fiery red all over, and emits intense heat within ten meters.

It is said that the delicate and beautiful apricot blossoms cannot be cut with metal; they must be picked with jade to retain their efficacy.

Both the Eight-Cornered Ice Grass and the Fiery Apricot Blossom are top-tier poisonous herbs, each containing extreme fire poison and extreme cold poison respectively.

Once these two Ice and Fire Immortal Herbs are picked, their toxicity will be greatly reduced after their auras merge, and they will only be effective if taken within ten breaths.

Otherwise, their effectiveness will be completely lost.

In other words, if you pick the Eight-Star Ice Grass and the Fiery Apricot Blossom now, it means you must take them on the spot and then use the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Eye to complete the absorption of the medicinal effects.

Looking at the deadly Yin-Yang Well of Ice and Fire before him, a resolute look flashed in Xia Liang's eyes. Having gone through so much trouble to get here, there was no point in hesitating anymore.

He immediately took out two daggers from the tricolor ring and handed them to the two Gastly.

One of the Gastly's daggers, held in its mouth, is made of metal.

The dagger in the mouth of the other Gastly is made of jade.

Upon receiving the order, the two Gastly endured the impact of the extreme cold and intense heat of the spiritual energy and quickly flew to the shore where the Eight-Cornered Ice Grass and the Fiery Apricot were located.

It was only thanks to the effects of hot and cold milk drinks that they were able to avoid being pulverized by the ice and fire power of these two immortal herbs for a short period of time.

Two Gastly cleaved their blades, the jade-carved daggers aimed at the delicate stem of the Fiery Apricot.

The metal dagger was aimed at the stem of the eight-cornered ice grass.

Whoosh, splash.

The two Ice and Fire Fairy Herbs were almost simultaneously severed by the daggers in the mouths of the two Gastly, and the huge flowers fell to the ground with a thud.

At that moment, the two Gastly were instantly dissipated by the spiritual energy impacted by the nearby Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well.

With the release of his Skeleton Martial Soul, Xia Liang controlled his ten-meter-long skeletal right arm, first picking up the eight-cornered ice grass that had fallen on the bank of the extreme cold spring and placing it at his feet.

Then pick up the fiery apricot blossoms from the shore of the scorching spring.

When the two magical herbs were piled up at his feet, a strange scene unfolded.

A faint red hue gradually enveloped the white eight-pointed ice grass, while a faint white light enveloped the red fiery apricot blossoms.

The auras of the two immortal herbs are merging with each other, and their toxicity has been greatly reduced.

Xia Liang picked up two immortal herbs and put them in his mouth at the same time. He instantly felt a warm and cold sensation in his mouth.

Chew it thoroughly and swallow it.

One minute later, the drug took effect.

Xia Liang's body trembled violently, and then ice-blue and fiery-red auras switched back and forth on his body, which looked very strange.

The unbearable itching sensation appeared in every part of the body, followed by a dual pain of burning heat and bone-chilling cold.

Both the Eight-Cornered Ice Grass and the Fiery Apricot are highly poisonous; the former is extremely cold and the latter is extremely hot.

When two extremely potent toxins with diametrically opposed properties enter the body, this is perhaps the kind of torment that Dugu Yan often talks about—the feeling of being tormented by poison to the point of wishing for death.

Xia Liang took out hot milk drink, cold milk drink, and milk algae drink from the three-colored ring. After drinking them, he gained a certain resistance to extreme cold and scorching spiritual energy, and also acquired the characteristics of aquatic plants for a long time.

After removing the three storage soul tools and hiding them at the bottom of a nearby boulder, Xia Liang returned to the shore of the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well without taking off his clothes. He closed his eyes and jumped directly into the spring.

puff.

Milky white and vermilion spring water splashed up in response, and amidst the torment of ice and fire tormenting his body, Xia Liang sank to the bottom of the spring in an instant.

The deeper you go, the darker the color of the Ice and Fire Spring becomes.

According to the original text, the clash of ice and fire spiritual energy between the two springs will have a strong promoting effect on the Eight-Cornered Mystic Ice Grass and the Fiery Apricot Blossom, promoting the absorption of them by the user and transforming their ice and fire poison into their own ice and fire energy.

However, these ice and fire energies do not form soul power, but rather act on the body, drastically transforming its strength and even its physical attributes.

As Xia Liang sank deeper into the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Spring, he adopted a starfish sleeping posture, enduring the intense pain of his bones and meridians being opened up as the internal ice and fire energy interacted with the external ice and fire spring water.

His clothes, including his iron bodysuit, had been burned to ashes by the fiery energy of the blazing spring.

Being naked allows for a more clear view of the changes in the body under the transformation of ice and fire energy.

The most noticeable changes are in the muscles of every part of the body.

Previously, when I took a large amount of whale gelatin, the strength of my muscles, meridians, and bones was greatly enhanced.

Now, after being transformed by the ice and fire medicinal power of the Eight-Cornered Ice Grass and the Fiery Apricot, the flesh and blood of every part of Xia Liang's body are more pronounced.

At the same time, the meridians throughout the body are unblocked, and the strength of the bones is further enhanced.

As an externally projected weapon spirit, the spirit rings are all attached to the skeleton spirit.

Therefore, when absorbing a spirit ring, the growth rate of the skeleton spirit is faster than the growth rate of Xia Liang's body, which makes him look like he is supported by a skeleton.

Nowadays, the ice and fire energy generated by the combination of the Eight-Cornered Ice Grass and the Fiery Apricot is mostly absorbed by the body.

This resulted in the body developing much faster than the growth rate of the skeleton martial soul.

The fullness of flesh and blood made Xia Liang, who was completely naked, gradually look like a normal person again.

His face was no longer as thin and withered as before; it had regained its former delicate features after gaining flesh and blood.

I don't know how much time has passed.

Xia Liang, whose physical appearance had returned to normal, sank into the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Spring in a sleeping position shaped like the Chinese character "太" (Tai), and his consciousness had already faded.

However, the ice and fire poison of the Eight-Cornered Ice Grass and the Fiery Apricot Delicate in his body is still being transformed into ice and fire energy to reshape his entire body.

Why is the Skull Martial Soul a Weapon Martial Soul?

Using one's own skeleton as the bloodline of a martial soul, the awakened skeleton martial soul should theoretically belong to the category of body martial souls.

However, Xia Liang's situation is more like that of Blue Silver Emperor A Yin.

Blue Silver Emperor Ah Yin's Blue Silver Emperor Martial Soul belongs to the category of Weapon Martial Souls, but this Weapon Martial Soul uses Blue Silver Emperor Ah Yin's original body as its Martial Soul bloodline.

The same applies to the creation of the Skeleton Martial Soul.

Therefore, even though it is a weapon spirit, the skeleton spirit still has a certain connection with Xia Liang's own skeleton.

The growth of a skeleton martial spirit will affect the development of his physical skeleton.

The development of the body's skeletal structure will also affect the growth of the Skeleton Martial Soul.

And that is precisely why.

After his skeletal frame was enhanced by the medicinal power of the Eight-Cornered Ice Grass and the Fiery Apricot, Xia Liang's Skeleton Martial Soul underwent an astonishing growth.

Or perhaps it's an evolution of the martial soul bloodline.

Because of the Ice and Fire Body Refinement, his physical aptitude and skeletal martial soul bloodline were improved. Originally, his skeleton martial soul, which only had ribs, actually evolved to have a head.

At this moment, the skeletal martial spirit covering Xia Liang's entire body was no longer in the form of a two-meter-tall black-purple rib, but rather a five-meter-tall spine with black-purple ribs and a black-purple skull attached to it.

If two more skeletal arms grow from the sides of its ribs, it will become a complete half-skeletal form.
