Tibet.

High in the sky, within the white clouds.

Seeing Tang Sanzang galloping away on horseback and Sun Wukong shrinking the distance to an inch, shooting straight into the territory of Gao Laozhuang like a sharp arrow, Huang Mei had no choice but to bring Bai Susu to show herself and buy time for Zhu Ganglie to arrive.

"Big brother!"

Upon seeing their figures, Sun Wukong, who was leaping in front of the white horse, stopped first, and the white dragon horse followed suit.

Sanzang frowned slightly, but dared not speak out against his anger.

Firstly, Huang Mei was not his disciple, and secondly, he was still wary and even terrified of this ruthless and decisive man.

At midnight, he dreamed more than once of Jin Chi's head being blown apart, and even of Huang Mei's fierce face, wielding a spiked club and smashing it into his face.

The seeds of fear took root in his heart and bore fruit of dread, making him dare not express any dissatisfaction.

"Wukong, Susu and I are going to buy some things. Is there anything you need? Let's hurry and buy it for you."

Huang Mei made up a reason on the spot, while glancing at Sanzang's face out of the corner of her eye.

But seeing that he had no smile on his face and his lips were tightly pursed, yet he did not speak, I couldn't help but sneer inwardly.

As the saying goes, petty people fear power but not virtue, and this seems surprisingly fitting for this holy monk.

Sun Wukong thought for a moment and replied, "Yes, I do. Could you please buy me a couple of outfits while you're at it? The tiger-skin skirt is impressive, but it's also quite flashy."

As he said this, he deliberately looked at Tang Sanzang with a meaningful smile.

Sanzang knew exactly what he meant, but since he had planned ahead, he couldn't say anything now.

"good!"

Huang Mei silently memorized Sun Wukong's height and waistline, smiled and agreed, then asked Tang Sanzang on horseback, "Where is Master Sanzang? Does he have any needs?"

Sanzang shook his head: "This humble monk need not trouble you."

Huang Mei laughed and said, "It's alright. According to your seniority in your previous life, you should call me senior brother. It's only natural for a senior brother to take care of his junior brother."

Sanzang: "..."

"Thanks for your help, brothers."

Just as Huang Mei was stalling for time by talking nonsense, in a nearby valley, Zhu Ganglie handed the golden armor back to a divine general and said with a cupped hand.

"You're too kind. No matter what, you'll always be our commander-in-chief," the general said warmly, holding the armor.

"That's right, even without the Heavenly Court's decree, we will always regard you as our commander!" The other generals echoed in agreement.

Pigsy's nose tingled, and he was so moved he almost cried, but he didn't have time to be sentimental. He clasped his hands in a fist and said:

"When I return from my pilgrimage, I will surely go to the Milky Way to drink with you all."

"We await the Marshal's return," the gods said in unison.

midair.

Zhifeng and the Dragon Girl stood side by side on a white cloud, watching this scene, and couldn't help but ask, "Aren't we going to do something?"

"What can we do? Sabotage him? Offend Zhu Bajie to the bitter end?"

Sudhana sighed, "After the eighty-one tribulations, he will at least attain the status of a Bodhisattva, and he will surely settle accounts with you then."

Zhi Feng was speechless.

That yellow-browed fellow's actions gave people the feeling of a rat gnawing at a turtle, unable to find a way to eat him.

Just as the two were speechless, Zhu Ganglie used magic to transform back into his original form, carrying a nine-toothed rake on his shoulder, and turned into a gust of demonic wind that rushed straight towards the official road.

on the official road.

After repeatedly declining, Sanzang finally managed to refuse the overly enthusiastic Huangmei. Seeing the other party ride away on a cloud, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Master, why are you sighing?" Sun Wukong asked with a grin.

Sanzang calmly replied, "I'm just a little tired."

Just as Sun Wukong was about to reply, he suddenly sensed a strong demonic aura rushing towards him, heading straight for Sanzang on his horse.

"Hey, what kind of monster are you? State your name!"

"Where did this monkey come from? Get out of the way!" Pigsy flicked his sleeve and unleashed a gust of wind, his body still heading straight for Sanzang.

Sun Wukong passed right through the gale with his bare body and struck the pig demon on the head with his staff: "You're asking for death!"

"Clang!"

Pigsy used his nine-toothed rake to block the golden cudgel. The two sides went back and forth, cudgel against rake. In less than thirty rounds, the old pig felt his arms go numb and sore. He immediately stirred up a gust of demonic wind and fled in defeat.

"Where do you think you're going!"

Due to Zhu Ganglie's deliberate actions, Sun Wukong intercepted him with a single step, and the two engaged in another fierce battle.

"Who are you, you monkey? How do you possess such abilities?" As he gradually grew exhausted, Zhu Ganglie tried his best to distance himself from him and questioned him loudly.

Sun Wukong chuckled: "Have you ever heard of the Great Sage Equal to Heaven who wreaked havoc in the Heavenly Palace?"

"Sun Wukong?"

Pigsy blinked, then suddenly put away his rake: "Sigh, this is truly a case of the flood washing away the Dragon King's temple; even family members don't recognize each other."

"Pooh."

Sun Wukong spat and said, "Demon, don't try to claim kinship. Who's related to you?"

Zhu Ganglie said, "Huang Mei is my junior uncle, and I've heard him mention you before."

Sun Wukong was astonished: "Really?"

"Absolutely true," said Zhu Ganglie. "I have an extremely good relationship with my junior uncle, and he almost always listens to my every word."

Sun Wukong blinked and silently put away his golden cudgel: "So, we really are family."

Tang Sanzang: "..."

Yet another kindred spirit has emerged from the stinky waters of the low mountains!

"This must be the Tripitaka Master?" Just as he was secretly mocking him, Pigsy suddenly asked him.

"Amitabha, this humble monk is indeed Sanzang," Tang Sanzang said indifferently.

Zhu Ganglie immediately bowed deeply and said, "Disciple Zhu Wuneng greets Master."

Sanzang looked utterly astonished: "Wait a minute, who is your master?"

Zhu Bajie said, "Guanyin Bodhisattva advised me to do good and wait here for the pilgrim to arrive so I can follow him to the Western Paradise to worship Buddha and seek scriptures. May I ask if the holy monk is the pilgrim?"

Sanzang said with a strange expression, "Yes."

"If that's the case, then you are the master that the Bodhisattva has appointed for me," said Zhu Ganglie.

Sanzang said, "Since it was the Bodhisattva who advised you to do good, why did you come straight for me just now? Your demeanor clearly indicated that you were not here to become a disciple."

Zhu Ganglie laughed dryly, "I've taken a liking to your dragon horse and want to snatch it to give to my junior uncle."

Hearing him call him "Little Uncle" so affectionately, Sanzang was quite unhappy, but there was nothing he could do about it.

After all, he could not go against the Bodhisattva's wishes, nor could he refuse to accept Zhu Wuneng.

Unbeknownst to him, it was precisely because Zhu Ganglie addressed him as "Junior Uncle" that, after establishing their master-disciple relationship, he hid atop a mountain peak, gazing into the distance at Huang Mei, when a line of system characters suddenly flashed before his eyes:

[Ding! Congratulations on helping Sanzang subdue Zhu Bajie. You have gained 30000 merit points. Your current merit balance is 33000 points.]

"hiss."

Upon seeing the number, Huang Mei gasped in shock.

How many?

Thirty thousand?

The protagonist of Journey to the West is indeed the protagonist, ten times more so than the Black Bear Spirit.

No wonder Tang Sanzang was eventually conferred the title of Sandalwood Merit Buddha; the merits he accumulated along the way were truly extraordinary.

On the other hand, if I don't "help" Guanyin share some of her wealth, wouldn't she become the second most important person in Buddhism after the journey to the West?

And the foundation of the Buddhist lineage in this world will be unshakeable!
