The Dark Dragon landed on the edge of the East China Sea defense line.

Lin Feng flipped off the dragon's back, and as soon as his feet touched the ground, Duan Hongyuan strode over from the direction of the command post.

"What were you doing underwater just now?"

Duan Hongyuan walked up to him, his tone much more urgent than usual.

"All the mental energy detectors within a hundred-kilometer radius of the East China Sea overloaded and burned out. I've never seen such a fluctuation intensity before."

Lin Feng didn't beat around the bush.

"I've broken through! My mental strength has reached the ninth rank."

Duan Hongyuan stopped in his tracks.

He opened his mouth, but could not speak.

There was a few seconds of silence.

"...Ninth rank?"

"Um."

Duan Hongyuan took a deep breath.

He had lived most of his life and had seen many geniuses, but none of them could refresh his understanding of the world so many times in just a few months.

He swallowed back all the questions he wanted to ask.

"Okay, we'll talk about this later."

Duan Hongyuan lowered his voice and tilted his head slightly towards the command post. "Come with me, I have something to show you."

Lin Feng followed him.

The Nether Dragon shrank and jumped onto Lin Feng's shoulder, its tail drooping, looking sleepy.

The two walked through the corridor of the command post and entered the innermost secret room.

The door was marked "Top Secret" and required Duan Hongyuan's double verification to open.

The door opened.

It wasn't a big room, just a table and a holographic projection screen embedded in the wall.

Duan Hongyuan pressed a hidden button on the wall. The screen lit up.

The image is a video recording.

The image quality isn't great; it's grainy.

The filming location appears to be a rift valley deep in the wilderness.

"This video was filmed recently."

Duan Hongyuan stood beside the screen and explained.

"A squad of martial artists entered a rift in the northern border and discovered something amiss."

Lin Feng stared at the screen.

In the video, a middle-aged man covered in wounds crawled out of the crack.

His left arm disappeared at the shoulder; the cut didn't look like it had been severed, but rather like it had been swallowed by something.

The edges were blackened, and a wisp of black smoke was rising from them.

The video was cut short, jumping directly to the key statement.

The sound came from the screen, hoarse and intermittent.

"...There's something inside. Not a person, not a beast."

"They have horns. They grow on both sides of their foreheads."

"Its body is covered with scales, but it stands and walks like a human."

"The quantity... I didn't count it clearly."

"They call themselves..." the man coughed up two mouthfuls of blood, "the Skyhorns."

The video stopped.

Duan Hongyuan pressed pause.

Lin Feng stared blankly at the frozen image, lost in thought.

What happened to this person later?

"He died. Three days after returning, his wounds worsened, and he became completely drained of energy."

Duan Hongyuan said helplessly, "The entire medical community of the Dragon Kingdom is at a loss. Even top-grade healing pills cannot suppress the spread of that black energy."

Lin Feng placed his hand on the head of the Nether Dragon, his thumb unconsciously rubbing against its scales.

"And then? This intelligence..."

"It's sealed off."

Duan Hongyuan leaned against the wall.

"The National Defense Committee voted internally to determine that the evidence for the claim of being of a different race was insufficient and should not be spread widely to avoid causing panic. In addition, the crack had already been closed, so the whole matter was suppressed."

He paused for a moment.

"But since then, similar situations have occurred to varying degrees in all major military regions, at unpredictable times and in unpredictable locations."

"Did something come out of there?"

"Yes, but they were all low-level alien beasts, and they were killed on the spot. No intelligent creatures have appeared since."

Duan Hongyuan looked at Lin Feng.

He himself could not understand this phenomenon and placed his hopes on the boy in front of him.

"These alien races do exist."

"??? What information do you know?"

Lin Feng did not answer immediately.

He took out the curved rune from his storage ring and slapped it on the table.

Lin Feng spoke a little fast, but he explained everything about the Celestial Horn Tribe from his trip to Japan.

"...He calls himself the vanguard of the Skyhorn Clan, Feng Yiling. He is half-human and half-beast, with a horn on his forehead and scales on his body. His cultivation level is unknown."

Duan Hongyuan placed his hand on the edge of the table.

"The Skyhorn Clan..."

"He is the national advisor of Japan."

Lin Feng tapped the rune on the table. "No one in the Japanese Martial Arts Cabinet knows he's not human. He's been operating in Japan for countless years. Fujiba Eiji, the underwater seal, and even that spiritual sea beast—it was all his scheme."

Duan Hongyuan's breathing became heavier.

"Did he also instigate the beast tide?"

"Fujiba Eiji is dead, the underwater seal has broken, and the beast tide has emerged. This was his backup plan."

Lin Feng leaned back in his chair. "If we kill the Martial Emperor of Japan, the beast tide will come straight for China."

Duan Hongyuan fell silent.

The room remained quiet for a long time.

Duan Hongyuan slowly sat down, his expression even more solemn than before.

"Regarding the crack in the video you just watched, we sent three more teams in to scout it out before closing it. Only one person came back."

Duan Hongyuan took a small storage disk out of his pocket and placed it on the table.

"This is his complete oral history before he died, and it contains much more information than what you just saw."

He pressed the storage disk button.

A holographic projection appears.

The middle-aged man's face appeared in the air, his complexion ashen, black smoke seeping from his severed arm.

The voice sounded weaker than in the video.

"...There is a whole space inside, it's very large, much larger than we imagined."

"The number of alien races... I didn't see all of them, but just from the ones I encountered on my escape route, there were at least a thousand."

"They have cities, buildings, and writing systems."

"They are training the army."

"The direction those troops were heading... was all towards the entrance of the rift."

The recording stopped.

Lin Feng's finger stopped on the surface of the rune.

"When was this record made?"

About two weeks ago.

"Since you discovered it, why didn't you tell me beforehand?"

Duan Hongyuan gave a wry smile.

"Of the twelve votes in the National Defense Committee, seven voted that the evidence was insufficient and that it was a personal delusion, two abstained, and only three voted in favor of listing it as a Level 1 alert."

"Seven people think it's a hallucination?"

Lin Feng's tone was somewhat cold.

"The rift closed, and no one else returned alive to corroborate the story. The committee members didn't believe the words of a dying man."

Duan Hongyuan shrugged helplessly. "It's a common problem in bureaucratic systems: they won't admit their mistakes until they see the coffin."

Lin Feng stood up and put the curved rune back into his storage ring.

"Mr. Duan, let me be frank."

"explain."

"A great war is inevitable for the Dragon Kingdom, no, it will be on Earth."

Duan Hongyuan did not respond.

Lin Feng continued, "We need to expand our military and prepare for war. We need to build a system for fighting against alien races as soon as possible, and we need to inform everyone about the presence of alien races. There's no way to keep it a secret."

Duan Hongyuan nodded. "I'll contact them right away..."

next second.

An alarm sounded.

Sender: East China Sea Defense Line Outpost Monitoring Station.

"Report! Abnormal spatial fluctuations have been detected over the East China Sea!"

The other person's voice was trembling.

"Coordinates being sent... 47 kilometers from the coastline, 500 meters above sea level!"

Lin Feng and Duan Hongyuan both looked at the holographic projection screen.

The screen automatically switched to a live satellite image of the East China Sea.

A dark crack is opening up out of thin air above the sea.

The edges of the crack glowed red, like an eye being torn open.

The width is increasing.

ten meters.

Fifty meters.

One hundred meters.

It's still expanding.

The voice on the communicator was still ringing, but it had changed tone.

"The crack has widened to 200 meters! 300 meters! And it's still widening!"

"A large number of life forms have been detected approaching from inside the crack!"

"The quantity...the quantity is incalculable!"

Lin Feng took a deep breath and looked towards the East China Sea.

"It's faster than I expected."
