Peninsula: From Water Injection to Stardom

Chapter 162 Picking Up the Girl at the Airport

Jiang Yan originally planned to go straight back to the hotel, but unexpectedly received a phone call halfway there.

It was Park Jin-young calling. He and Nichkhun had left early and were now looking for a place to eat nearby, asking if he wanted to come.

Jiang Yan naturally didn't refuse, but considering that Lin Zhenna was with him, he also asked her if she wanted to come along.

Actually, Park Jin-young is quite familiar with the members of AfterschooI. They used to meet at the club and often hung out together.

Nana (Im Jin-ah) also said she could go with them.

So the four of them met up at a well-known restaurant nearby and chatted for over an hour while eating.

While they were having their little get-together, Weibo was buzzing with excitement.

The topic of Wu Jiaheng winning the Weibo KING award and Stephen Chow presenting the award to him became a trending topic.

However, compared to these, there was an even more eye-catching trending topic that topped the list.

#Jiang Yan and Chen Yan's Positional Dispute#

Shortly after the awards ceremony for male and female idols ended, a video and GIF of Jiang Yan ignoring Chen Yan and standing in front of her went viral on Weibo.

Countless passersby came over to watch the melon after smelling the aroma.

"Chen Yan is so clueless, daring to compete with Jiang Yan for a spot. She really shouldn't blame others for not giving her face."

"Hilarious! Chen Xiao gave up his seat, but his girlfriend tricked him and put him in a difficult position."

"But blocking someone's way in public like that is just too embarrassing. You can handle it privately, but doing it on stage is just tasteless."

"Even if Chen Yan deliberately stood in that spot, he could have easily stood next to her. Doesn't he have that much magnanimity?"

"Get this straight! Some people are shameless enough to insist on taking a position that doesn't belong to them."

"Why should we give way to a washed-up celebrity? Does she even deserve it?"

"Is Chen Yan a washed-up actress? Wasn't the role of Shen Jiayi popular enough?"

"What's popular is the role itself; it doesn't matter who plays it. Besides this, does she have any other notable works?"

"You know what, her xiaolongbao (soup dumpling) emoji is quite popular."

"Jiang Yan is famous overseas, do you think you can try to piggyback on her fame?"

"Hua Shao's words have already proven whose problem it is. Those who don't understand should go back and retake their Chinese language courses."

""

The controversy over his stance sparked a debate among countless bystanders, and Jiang Yan's fans naturally offered unwavering support for his actions.

If this kind of friction had occurred with other top celebrities, it would have inevitably turned into a Weibo war.

Unfortunately, his opponent was a washed-up actor with few die-hard fans, relying solely on the fame of one role to make a living.

Feli was all fired up and ready to fight to the bitter end tonight, but when he went to attack, he found that he couldn't lock onto the enemy at all.

Where are the opponent's fans? I can't find many of them.

Finally, out of desperation, some people went to the super topic square, which was almost empty of survivors, and then called it a day.

Feli said he had never fought such an easy battle before.

Meanwhile, Wu Jiaheng, who had just received the Weibo KING trophy with great pride, immediately took out his phone and opened Weibo to confirm the situation after returning to the hotel and learning about it.

When he saw with his own eyes that he wasn't the number one trending topic, his face immediately darkened.

His team prepared so many marketing plans for him today, but in the end, Jiang Yan stole the headlines time and time again.

Who the hell is the real Weibo King?!

Jiang Yan also saw the trending topics that night, but he didn't pay any attention to them.

As for Chen Xiao's later private apology, he only said that he would not have any objections to him personally.

Actually, Jiang Yan really wanted to remind the other party to pay attention to his girlfriend's private life, but then he thought that the two of them were currently having a very passionate conversation, and it would be more like gossip if he said it without any evidence.

After attending the Weibo Night event, Jiang Yan did not fly directly back to South Korea, but stayed in Yanjing for a few more days.

The reason for staying here is simple: in two days, all members of TWICE will fly to Beijing to record their performance for the Global Spring Festival Gala on Beijing TV.

Thanks to his earlier reminder, the flag-raising incident didn't happen on the variety show that TWICE's foreign member Iine participated in.

Without that incident, JYP should proceed with the planned activities for TWICE to visit China this year.

Even so, Jiang Yan did not think that this would affect the future development trajectory of Lao Tu. After all, the restrictions on Korean entertainment would begin in the second half of this year, and in the end, they would still have to try their luck in Japan.

Around 10 a.m. on the 10th, Beijing Capital International Airport.

Wearing a mask, hat, and sunglasses, Jiang Yan stood discreetly next to the shuttle bus at the arrival gate. After waiting for more than ten minutes, he saw the Nine Rabbits noisily walking over from afar.

It was the first time these people had come to mainland China, and everything seemed strange and wonderful to them.

Wearing a thick coat, Yu Dingyan, who was walking ahead, was the first to spot the figure standing next to the car.

She recognized Jiang Yan almost instantly, and immediately said in a somewhat surprised tone, "Oppa, what are you doing here waiting for us?!"

Her shout immediately stopped the other members from talking and they all looked over.

Everyone looked surprised, completely unprepared for Jiang Yan's appearance.

Jiu Tu only knew that she would meet Jiang Yan after arriving in China, but she did not expect that the meeting place would be at the airport.

"Since this is your first time visiting the mainland, of course I want to treat you well. Get in the car, I've already made reservations at the restaurant."

After casually taking off his sunglasses, Jiang Yan didn't explain why he was waiting there. He immediately told them to get in the car quickly.

There were two private cars, and Jiang Yan rode in the one with fewer people.

Inside the car, besides him, the remaining four people were Lim Nayeon, Chou Tzuyu, Hirai Momo, and Mina.

Mina sat in the back row, her smiling eyes fixed on Jiang Yan.

However, in order to conceal their relationship and avoid being exposed, she did not take the initiative to talk to him, but instead occasionally and subtly interrupted other members' conversations with Jiang Yan.

"Oppa, what Chinese food are we going to eat later?" Hirai Momo asked with an expectant look.

Ever since Jiang Yan took her to eat Chinese food last time, she has started to like it.

After that, Hirai Momo would occasionally go to a Chinese restaurant nearby to eat, but she always felt that the Chinese restaurants she went to were not as good as the one Jiang Yan took her to eat at.

"The roast duck here is very famous. You should try it later and see what you think."

Jiang Yan wasn't a true Beijing native, so he could only rely on his own stereotypes to take TWICE to Quanjude to eat Peking duck, a dish that is familiar to everyone in China.

As for local specialty drinks like douzhi (fermented mung bean juice), he didn't plan to let them try them; even he himself wouldn't dare drink it.
