Chapter 253 As I said, at dawn, the Dark Moon Palace is history.
Then, Yun Yi's gaze fell on the purple figure dripping with blood.
"The condition you just mentioned—" he paused, "I'll give you a condition now as well."
The Moon Goddess stood rooted to the spot, blood already flowing down her chin and dripping onto the tattered fabric of her clothes.
"Take everyone from the Dark Moon Palace and commit suicide on the spot. I can give you a dignified death."
"Otherwise, the Dark Moon Palace will be history by dawn."
Moon Goddess stood in the center of the shattered array patterns, blood from her forehead flowing down her chin, staining her torn clothes with a dark hue.
She raised the back of her hand and wiped it, the movement was slow, but the hand did not tremble.
"Suicide?" she repeated the two words, her voice hoarse. "I've lived for three thousand years, and no one has ever dared to speak to me like that."
As soon as she finished speaking, she moved.
But not by taking action.
The purple afterimage suddenly retreated rapidly, flashing past the entrance to the mountain pass.
Her speed was so fast that even the remaining light from the ten reincarnated beings' array couldn't detect her movement.
She is indeed very strong.
Her speed is almost on par with that of the Martial Emperor; there are very few people in the world who can stop her.
But the sound of the wind behind her told her that she wasn't in that "few and far between" category today.
A very small hand was placed on the back of her head.
That hand was several sizes smaller than her palm, and the fingers still had the rounded curves unique to children, but the moment it landed on the back of her head, the old woman felt as if the whole sky was pressing down on the back of her head.
Her body froze.
From the spine to the limbs, every bone and every muscle was pressed down tightly by the force transmitted from that little hand.
She tried to mobilize her qi and blood to resist, but the true qi that had been condensed in her meridians for three thousand years was like a stream encountering a tsunami in the face of that suppressive force, unable to even surge.
She even felt her soul was firmly locked, and even the speed at which her thoughts were processing was slowing down.
Yun Yi's voice came from behind her, carrying the coolness of the night wind as she traveled:
"You won't agree? That's fine."
"I'll help you."
The next moment, the Moon Goddess felt herself being lifted up.
The world spun around.
At extreme speeds, the scenery on both sides transforms into flowing blocks of color.
Mountains, rivers, cities, and plains receded wildly at the edge of her vision, merging into a blurry expanse of gray-green lines. The speed was so fast she couldn't even blink.
Three thousand years of cultivation, a physique at the half-step Martial Emperor level, and muscles and skin tempered to the extreme—faced with the pressure brought by this speed, she was like a lump of dough being kneaded in someone's hand, ready to be crushed at any moment.
"You—" She tried to open her mouth to say something, but the wind rushed into her throat, cutting her voice into broken syllables.
The sound of the wind suddenly changed, from a wide howl across the plains to a muffled echo blocked by the mountains.
We've arrived at the Dark Moon Palace.
The Dark Moon Palace is located on a cliff three thousand miles north of the Cloud Nether Empire.
The entire palace is built against the mountain, with black eaves that rise and fall in a staggered pattern, resembling a giant beast lying on the cliff top under the moonlight.
The palace walls are surrounded by twelve layers of protective mountain formations, each layer being the work of the world's top formation masters.
It is said that even if Emperor Wu himself came, it would take at least three hours to break through all the defenses.
Yun Yi, holding Yue Po by the back of her neck, stood in the high sky directly in front of the Dark Moon Palace.
The night wind made his clothes flutter, and hundreds of feet below was the main hall of the Dark Moon Palace.
Two stone beast statues squatted on the roof ridge, their stone eyes gleaming coldly in the moonlight.
The Moon Goddess was finally able to catch her breath from that suffocatingly rapid pace.
She was lifted into the air, her tattered purple robe fluttering wildly in the wind, and the blood on her forehead had congealed into a dark scab.
She opened her mouth, her voice hoarse:
"What...what are you doing here—"
Yun Yi glanced down at her, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"What am I doing? Don't you know perfectly well?"
After saying that, he released his grip.
The Moon Goddess's body fell from a height of hundreds of feet.
She instinctively mustered the last bit of her strength to steady herself—and then she felt a powerful pressure pressing down on her from above, so much so that she couldn't even muster the thought of looking up.
Yun Yi raised his fist.
A punch landed downwards.
Above the main hall of Dark Moon Palace, a blinding white light poured down from Yun Yi's fist, like a waterfall cascading from the sky, carrying overwhelming power as it crashed onto the outermost protective array.
The first layer of array patterns lit up and then went out.
Like a candle thrown into boiling water, it has no chance to struggle before it completely melts away.
The second, third, fourth... all twelve layers of the mountain-protecting formation collapsed within half a breath.
The defensive systems painstakingly constructed by successive palace masters proved as fragile as a spiderweb covered in morning mist before that single punch.
The white light continued to fall, landing on the halls, pillars, eaves, and stone steps of the Dark Moon Palace.
The black tiles turned to dust the moment they came into contact with the white light, the intricately carved beams and pillars crumbled inch by inch, and all the magical artifacts, spiritual objects, scriptures, and secret texts that had been passed down for hundreds of years were annihilated in that expanding white light.
The Moon Goddess's figure paused for a moment in the air, which was dozens of feet high.
She saw her palace as a piece of paper that had been set on fire from the middle, burning, collapsing, and disappearing from the very center outwards.
The foundation she had built over a thousand years, the disciples she had personally selected, and the collection she was so proud of all evaporated in that white light.
The white light lasted for less than three breaths.
When the light faded, only a smooth, semi-circular depression remained on the cliff where the Dark Moon Palace was located.
The cliff is still there, but the entire palace complex that once stood on it has completely disappeared, leaving not even a single tile or a single piece of timber behind.
The moonlight shone again on the cliff, into that smooth depression, like light shining into the bottom of a bowl that had been licked clean.
Moon Goddess stared at the blank space, her mouth agape, uttering a few breathless syllables.
Yun Yi's figure landed beside her and stood at the edge of the cliff.
A night breeze blew from behind him, the hem of his clothes brushing against the edge of the rocks, still slightly red from the lingering heat. He turned his head and glanced at the Moon Goddess.
"I said," his voice was low, "that dawn is history."
He raised his hand and then clenched his fist.
The Moon Goddess's figure disappeared from the cliff without leaving any trace.
The true dawn began to break on the horizon.
Pale golden light seeped through the gaps in the clouds in the east, dyeing the layered mountains below the cliff red and illuminating the empty ruins of the former Dark Moon Palace.
Yun Yi withdrew his gaze, took a step forward, and his figure disappeared into the morning light once again.
Half an hour later, he landed again at the entrance of the Imperial Study in the Imperial City.
The door was half-open, and through the crack, you could see Yunling standing in front of the sand table, holding a pen in her hand, sketching something on the map.
Hearing footsteps, she looked up and saw the dust on Yun Yi's clothes, raising an eyebrow slightly.
"The Dark Moon Palace is gone?"
"That's all."
"Where is the matchmaker?"
"It's gone too."
Yunling nodded, without asking for further details.
She put down her pen and pointed to the few small flags that had been newly planted on the sand table: "When you left, Bei Lu and Shen Feng made a move again."
"They probably think the empire will fall into chaos after you leave."
"But your cheapskate father made a move."
"Five local experts at the eighth level of martial arts came, but he killed them all and sent them back alone."
"In less than a minute, three punches were thrown, and five people died."
"After the fight, he went back to his own yard to drink without even saying a word."
