You went on a blind date and presented an A-level wanted criminal as a meeting gift?

Dark as ink.

The outskirts of Beijing, outside Zhao Biao's logistics fleet.

More than a dozen riot control vehicles with flashing lights completely surrounded the convoy compound. Su Qingge, dressed in a black SWAT combat uniform with a light biohazard protective suit over it, held a submachine gun in her hand and had a sharp look in her eyes.

"One squad, seal off the front and back entrances; two squads, follow me and storm the main warehouse!"

Su Qingge gave a tactical hand signal.

Several fully armed special police officers immediately stepped forward and smashed open the rusty iron door of the main warehouse with a battering ram.

"Bang!"

The gate collapsed with a crash, kicking up a cloud of dust.

"Don't move! Police!"

The SWAT officers, guns at the ready, took turns providing cover as they stormed into the warehouse, their tactical flashlights sweeping back and forth across the wide space.

However, the warehouse was deathly silent.

There were no thugs putting up a last stand, nor were there mountains of goods. The entire main warehouse was empty, not even a mouse hair was left behind.

Su Qingge frowned, strode in, and looked around.

"Captain Su, nobody's here! We've searched the office building too, Zhao Biao and his cronies are all gone." Li Mingyu ran in from outside, took off his protective mask, and was panting heavily, his face full of frustration.

Enraged, Su Qingge slammed her fist into the iron pillar beside her, making a dull thud.

"That bastard ran way too fast!" Li Mingyu couldn't help but complain. "Someone must have leaked the information, otherwise how could they have gotten away so cleanly?"

Just then, a black Phaeton pulled up outside the warehouse.

Lin Chen pushed open the car door and strode in. He wasn't even wearing protective gear, just a regular medical mask.

"Advisor Lin!" the special police officers greeted him.

Lin Chen nodded and walked directly to the center of the warehouse.

"It wasn't a leak." Lin Chen said calmly, his gaze sweeping across the empty ground. "They were originally planning to leave tonight. Old Wang's sudden illness simply made them move their evacuation time forward by a few hours."

Li Mingyu scratched his head: "Advisor Lin, how did you know?"

Lin Chen didn't say anything.

[Divine insight has been activated!]

[God-level Architecture Mastery is now unlocked!]

In Lin Chen's vision, the originally chaotic ground was instantly dismantled into countless data and traces.

He walked to a corner of the warehouse against the wall and pointed to several clear tire tracks on the ground.

"Look at these tire tracks. Ordinary truck tires can't leave such deep marks. Moreover, the distance between these two tracks is wider than that of a regular truck, indicating that this is a specially modified heavy-duty truck."

Lin Chen squatted down, stretched out his finger, and gently rubbed it on the cement ground next to the tire tracks.

The dust on the ground was very thin, but beneath it, there was a fine layer of water stains, similar to those left by melting frost.

[A god-like sense of smell has been activated!]

Lin Chen placed his finger in front of his nose and gently sniffed it.

A faint, pungent smell, similar to that of a cold storage room, was instantly detected by Lin Chen.

"There's a lingering smell of high-concentration industrial-grade liquid nitrogen here." Lin Chen stood up, his eyes becoming very sharp.

Su Qingge was taken aback: "Liquid nitrogen? What are they going to do with liquid nitrogen?"

"Freeze them." Lin Chen dusted off his hands. "Those mutated fungal spores are extremely active at room temperature and are highly aggressive. The only way to transport them safely on a large scale is to force them into dormancy using industrial-grade liquid nitrogen."

Lin Chen turned to Su Qingge and said, "They transported those spore culture media away in refrigerated trucks."

Li Mingyu gasped, "Good heavens, these guys are not only rich, they're also high-tech savvy! Using refrigerated trucks to transport poisonous mushrooms?"

"These aren't poisonous mushrooms, they're biological weapons." Lin Chen glanced at him coldly.

Li Mingyu immediately shut his mouth, cold sweat pouring down his back.

Lin Chen took out his phone and quickly said, "Qingge, immediately retrieve the surveillance footage from all roads within a ten-kilometer radius of the convoy for the past five hours. Focus on heavy trucks with refrigeration equipment, especially those unlicensed vehicles without company markings."

"Understood!" Su Qingge immediately turned around to make the arrangements.

Lin Chen stood in the empty warehouse, looking at the dark night sky.

Zhao Biao, a thug like him, couldn't possibly get his hands on industrial-grade liquid nitrogen, let alone those genetically edited mutant fungi. He was just a lackey.

Behind this, there must be a huge financial network and a top-notch biotechnology team supporting it.

Lin Chen dialed Ye Qingcheng's number.

The phone rang twice before being answered, and Ye Qingcheng's slightly languid voice came through: "Honey, checking up on me in the middle of the night?"

"Qingcheng, help me check some accounts." Lin Chen's tone was serious, without a single wasted word. "Check if any large pharmaceutical company, cold chain logistics company, or some secretive capital institution in Beijing has had any large-scale abnormal financial transactions with the Southwest region in the past month."

On the other end of the phone, Ye Qingcheng instantly dropped her joking attitude.

"Large amount of unusual funds? What is the approximate scale of the amount?"

"Starting at tens of millions, with no upper limit. And the methods used to transfer funds are extremely discreet." Lin Chen's eyes were icy. "These rats want to play Resident Evil on my turf? No way. I'm going to expose them completely."

"Leave it to me," Ye Qingcheng replied crisply.
