Chapter 111 The Offense and Defense Have Changed
The members of the Bulwark Guild arrived at the dungeon entrance and were thrilled to see the loot scattered all over the ground. They had never killed so many pigmen at once before, and they felt a sense of pride and triumph.
However, these pig-men were all killed by Liu Nian, and had nothing to do with them, so they naturally had no right to pick them up.
Liu Nian only picked up coins, rare materials, and equipment of mythic quality or higher, along with some gems and special items. He didn't need or care about most of the remaining items, so he and Han Yang decided to let the Barrier Guild take them all, converting them into money or high-level materials like mythic essence.
The members of the Bulwark Guild were naturally overjoyed.
"Well... the things we have on us are probably not as valuable as these things," Han Yang said somewhat embarrassedly.
"That's good enough." Liu Nian was in a hurry and didn't have time to deal with these things. For him now, anything that wasn't at least mythical level wasn't very valuable. He might as well exchange it for materials and then go to the dwarf to exchange for legendary equipment, or have Old Chen forge legendary equipment for him.
The members of the Bulwark Guild quickly began cleaning up the battlefield.
Their faces were filled with excitement. Although Liu Nian had taken most of the high-end goods, what remained was still a huge fortune for them, enough to boost the strength of the entire guild.
While the members of the Bulwark Guild were collecting loot, Liu Nian was examining a scroll that had been dropped by some unknown pigman.
This scroll records the locations of many dungeons, their respective factions, and the key items that drop.
For example, this steel tomb has the following text next to it: (Neutral Zone: Rusty Hills, Drop: Immortal Heart).
In addition, there are several similar ones:
Bloodfall Rift (Skaven Territory: Land of a Thousand Graves, Drops: ?)
Thunder Bluff (Demon Bear Territory, Thunder Mountains, Drop: Immortal Oath)
Ancestral Burial Grounds (Clan Territory, Drop: Immortal Throne)
Swamp Wreck Shipyard (Goblin Territory, Drops: Immortal Call)
Molten Abyss (Third level of the Underdark, drops: ?)
Shadow Rift (Shadowvale, Eagleborn Territory, drops: Immortal Pressure)
……
"Hiss..." Liu Nian gasped.
Could this record be the drop locations for each piece of the Immortal King Legendary Set?
So this unassuming piece of paper is actually a guide specifically for farming legendary sets?
Liu Nian's eyes lit up.
This Immortal King set likely has far more than just these few pieces; the Pigmen may not yet have specific information on the other parts.
But no matter what, this thing is really incredibly valuable!
The problem is that these drop locations are somewhat troublesome, as many are located within the territories of other races, and going there would inevitably lead to conflict with other races.
Furthermore, entering a dungeon requires a specific opening time; you can't just enter whenever you want.
Even if you get in, what will you do when you come out and face players from other factions?
Moreover, this isn't something you can get by trying once or twice; you'd probably have to try dozens of times before it drops.
Who has the time to stay in the territory of other players for so long?
But then I thought—why bother going into the dungeon to farm it myself?
Why not just wait at the entrance of the dungeon, wait for them to finish, and then kill those dungeon-farming people?
Or, since there are records of pigmen, they must have been created through spawning!
It's much easier to just slaughter the pig directly.
Dungeons also have drop rates, and killing members of the opposing faction guarantees drops. This efficiency is far superior to repeatedly farming dungeons and relying on luck for equipment!
The Heart of Immortality was dropped by that pigman Bonecrusher, so it's highly likely that this scroll was also recorded by that Bonecrusher.
Gru probably never dreamed that because of this information, the pigmen would be in big trouble!
Liu Nian went berserk and started slaughtering pigs...
But that's a story for later. At this moment, the heavy metal door in front of them made a loud "rumbling" sound, and slowly opened as light flowed.
Liu Nian's lips curled into a slight smile as he rolled up the reel.
I originally planned to use Prism Skill Stones to enhance [Soul Drain Strike], but I ended up wasting time watching a scroll.
Just in time, the dungeon closed, and Liu Nian prepared to farm the pigmen he had just finished.
He turned around leisurely, his gaze fixed on the widening crack in the door.
Inside the door, a cacophony of noise, heavy footsteps, and the clanging of weapons against armor could be heard.
A group of pigman players emerged from the doorway, bearing the marks of a fierce battle. Some had damaged armor, while others were enveloped in the lingering glow of stale energy.
The leader was a pigman of the same level 60, named [Bloodhammer Mog].
He carried a massive, blood-red axe, as big as a door panel, on his shoulder. Some kind of dark, luminous, viscous liquid was still dripping from the axe blade, indicating that he had just been through a fierce battle.
As soon as Mog stepped out of the dungeon, his thick brows furrowed.
The heavy stench of blood outside the door, the corpses of their own kind strewn across the ground, humans gathering their spoils, and the proud, solitary figure standing before the door…
"That piece of trash Gru!" Mog spat. He had already seen the warning and distress message through the clan channel while he was in the dungeon, but he was too busy to deal with it at the time. "Form ranks! Prepare for battle!" he growled, his voice like a broken gong.
The team behind him reacted swiftly, with about twenty-five pigman players immediately forming a battle formation. Two level 58 Earthshakers stood at the front, their shields slamming into the ground; several Berserkers and Steelmane Hunters spread out on either side; and a level 59 Greathammer Shaman began to chant softly, his warhammer gleaming with healing and buffing light. This was a relatively well-equipped and experienced raiding party.
Their faces were solemn as they stared intently at Liu Nian.
"Human, you're courting death!" Mog pointed his giant axe at Liu Nian, his blood-red rage surging around him. "I'll hang your head on my belt as an ornament!"
Liu Nian didn't speak, but just looked at them calmly.
His gaze swept over Mog's blood-red giant axe, over the jewel-encrusted warhammer in the shaman's hand, and over the faintly glowing ornaments on the hunters' bodies... Very good, they look quite fat.
These guys look very imposing, but they don't seem to want to attack proactively at all. Like before, they've set up a passive defensive formation.
In other words, they are stalling for time.
Hmm, it seems that higher-level pigmen have received the distress call and are on their way.
Then we can't dawdle any longer.
Liu Nian took a step forward.
This simple step made all the pigmen feel as if they were facing a formidable enemy, and the Earthshakers in the front row instinctively pressed their shields even tighter.
"For the glory of Bloodfang! Kill!" Mog knew he couldn't hesitate any longer. Although he knew that delaying would be more advantageous to him, avoiding battle was not his style!
His blood boiled with rage, and with a roar, his body blazed with crimson light. He launched the first [Savage Charge], like a blood-red chariot, carrying a gale and raging flames, crashing into Liu Nian!
The pigs behind him roared in unison and charged!
The battle has broken out!
Facing the elite squad of pigmen's charge, Liu Nian did not retreat an inch and charged head-on!
"Unstoppable!!"
He wants to see who's tougher!
Liu Nian charged alone towards a group of pig-men!
The two collided—thud!
A deafening sound and staggering damage numbers popped up at the same time!
-844,635
-844,635
-844,635
……
Not a single pigman survived the skill's damage range!
No matter what damage reduction, shield, or blocking skills they have activated!
The only one who survived was the giant hammer shaman.
He activated some kind of invincibility skill and blocked the attack.
[Level upgraded to level 44]
[Hellish Curse activated: Armor, Magic Resistance, and Ability Power increased by 75]
……
"Get lost, you!"
The giant hammer shaman roared and launched a desperate attack.
But it was completely useless for Liu Nian...
In the blink of an eye, Liu Nian wiped out the entire pig-man squad.
Looking at the large amount of equipment that had been dropped on the ground again, Liu Nian nodded secretly.
"No way is dungeon-running as efficient as this. Waiting for those dungeon-running pigmen to come to you is the real efficiency!"
These pig-men also dropped a lot of good stuff. Liu Nian kept the ones he thought were good and gave the rest to Han Yang. He told Han Yang to pack up and leave as soon as he was done, as the enemy's reinforcements were probably on their way and they shouldn't come anytime soon. They had suffered such a big loss and probably needed to make up for it.
"Liu Nian, where are you going? Do you need any help?" Han Yang asked quickly.
"No need." Liu Nian turned around, activated the [Predator Instinct] of his cloak, and his figure gradually blended into the shadows of the environment, leaving only his voice behind, "I'm going to look around somewhere else."
As soon as he finished speaking, his figure had completely disappeared.
The members of the Bulwark Guild stared at the pigman corpses and looted equipment scattered on the ground, then looked in the direction where Liu Nian had disappeared, remaining silent for a long time.
"President, this guy's fighting power is ridiculously high! Did we just get lucky and latch onto a powerful figure?" one member murmured.
"That's the fucking thigh of a prehistoric crocodile!" another member exclaimed.
Han Yang took a deep breath and gripped the giant shield tightly: "Stop talking nonsense, get ready! The weather's changing, brothers, get prepared for the storm!"
Whenever humanity is in dire straits, there are always those who step forward and turn the tide.
He had a vague feeling that the situation had changed, and the roles of offense and defense were about to shift.
