"President Liu Nian, this is a heavy responsibility." Wang Mian looked at Liu Nian and said solemnly, "You possess the strongest individual combat power and the most unique troop composition among us. Correspondingly, you will also undertake the most flexible and dangerous tasks, and the pressure will be immense."

Liu Nian nodded calmly: "No problem. I'm used to solving problems myself."

He disliked being bound by cumbersome command systems, and this highly autonomous, key-focused position suited him perfectly.

At this point, his position is that of a "failed man": with great power comes great responsibility.

The meeting subsequently passed several proposals regarding the unified allocation of wartime resources, intelligence-sharing mechanisms, standards for profit distribution, and calculation of combat merits. Although the process was not without its twists and turns, it ultimately achieved its intended goals.

As the last rays of the setting sun began to stream through the stained-glass windows of the hall, casting long shadows on the floor, all the important topics had been discussed.

Wang Mian stood up and, as the commander-in-chief, delivered his final concluding remarks. His voice was not loud, but it reached everyone's ears clearly:

"Gentlemen, after a day of discussion, we have identified friend and foe, divided responsibilities, consolidated our forces, and formulated a strategy. Perhaps our plan is not perfect, and our preparations are still somewhat rushed, but we have done the best we can within the limited time."

His gaze slowly swept over every face present, whether resolute, solemn, or still carrying a hint of unease.

"Tomorrow, the war will begin. This is not a faction war in a game, nor a battle of egos between guilds. This is a battle for survival that will determine the fate of us human players on Earth in this world! If we win, we will break through our shackles and reach a wider world; if we lose, our consciousness will sink, and we will be forever reduced to wild monsters."

"There is no way back behind us. Before us lies an abyss we must cross."

"But I believe we can win!" Wang Mian's voice suddenly rose. "We have experienced leaders, unparalleled warriors, and every one of you here, each with your own unique talents, willing to fight for your race! We also have tens of thousands of compatriots preparing abroad, trusting us, and who will fight alongside us!"

"The three chaotic races may be fierce, but they each have their own agendas and are not invincible! Our Eagleborn allies will provide us with aerial vision, the Demon Bears' distraction will alleviate our pressure, and we also have a host of friendly forces including centaurs, Abe's Bees, trolls, gnomes, frost giants, and more!"

"Therefore, everyone!" Wang Mian raised his right hand, clenching his fist at his chest, "Let us cast aside all past grievances and, in the name of humanity, unite for this battle! For survival, for the future—"

"We will win this battle!" Wu Zhan stood up, his deep and powerful voice ringing out.

"Victory is certain!" Liu Nian stood up and said.

"Victory is certain!" Yun Xiangrong, Wang Mu, Ye Jielina... all the attendees, regardless of their previous stance, were infected by this atmosphere and stood up in unison, clenching their fists and roaring!

A strong fighting spirit and a shared sense of righteous indignation surged through the hall.

The pre-war summit concluded in a spirited atmosphere.

The group dispersed and returned to their posts to begin the final and most intense preparations.

Liu Nian did not leave immediately.

He walked to the window and looked out at the lights of the small blue town gradually lighting up, as well as the blurry outlines in the darkness further away.

"The last night before the battle." Wu Zhan's voice came from behind him.

"Yes, the calm before the storm." Liu Nian said without turning his head.

"How do you plan to arrange your independent regiment?" Wu Zhan asked.

"Let's see what the system rules are like tomorrow," Liu Nian said. "The first day will most likely just be a trial and a few skirmishes. I'll lead a small team of elite bee-people to patrol key areas and familiarize themselves with the battlefield."

Wu Zhan laughed: "I knew you couldn't stay still. Be careful, the rules have changed, the death penalty has been reduced, which means the enemies will be even more ferocious."

"They're going crazy, and I'm having a blast." Liu Nian turned around. "Take care too. Dragon City is our retreat, and more importantly, our base for the counterattack. We can't afford to lose it."

"Don't worry." Wu Zhan nodded emphatically.

The two said no more and went their separate ways.

Behind them, night finally enveloped the earth, but the lights of thousands of lights had already been lit.

……

The next day, at 7:55 AM.

All players, regardless of their location or what they were doing, subconsciously stopped what they were doing and waited for that moment to arrive.

The countdown ticked silently in everyone's sight.

5…4…3…2…1…

8:00 AM sharp.

A grand, cold, and emotionless system announcement, yet seemingly resounding deep within the souls of all players, boomed through the consciousness of all participating races:

[Regional Announcement: The Promotion Battle has officially begun!]

The following are the basic rules and terms of change for the Ascension War. All participating races and players must be aware of them:

[Review of Prerequisite Rules (Some Key Items)]

1. Faction Survival Rules: If any faction fails to possess at least one "Main City" level city for 30 consecutive days, it will be deemed "disqualified" and all its members will be forcibly converted into wild monster units.

2. Uniqueness of the Main City: Each faction can only possess one "Main City." Other cities cannot be promoted to Main City until the Main City is destroyed. The Main City's level determines the faction's sphere of influence and protection rules.

3. Level Suppression Rule (Before the Ascension War): Players could not enter the influence zone of alien forces whose level was 10 levels lower than their own. This rule has now been lifted.

4. Kill Rewards Rule (Pre-Ascension War): Players who kill targets 10 levels or more below their own level will not receive any experience, items, or quest counts. This rule has now been changed.

[New/Changed Rules for the Upgrade Battle]

I. Rules of War

1. Removal of the invincible status of the main city: The main cities of all participating races will no longer enjoy absolute protection at the system rule level and can be attacked, occupied and destroyed normally.

2. Removal of regional restrictions: All map areas (including former faction-controlled areas, high-level restricted areas, special dungeon entrance areas, etc.) will no longer have level requirements for player entry.

3. Cross-regional combat permission: Players can freely enter any area controlled by other races.

4. The level of the NPC troops guarding the city that can be purchased is no longer limited to level 99; the maximum level has been increased to 299.

5. All NPC factions open their war shops, selling war supplies, skills, and legion units.

6. Add war instances and secret realms to all map areas, where strategic resources will drop.

……

II. Player Status Rules

1. Death Penalty Change: Players who die during the Ascension War will no longer have their level reset to zero. After death, players will choose their respawn location from either their faction's surviving 'main city' or a 'secondary city' with a resurrection altar. Respawn time is 1 hour after death.

2. Standardized Kill Rewards: When players kill each other, the probability of equipment drop and experience gain will revert to a standardized algorithm, no longer affected by the "10-level difference principle". Killing higher-level players and NPCs will grant additional contribution points and honor rewards, and excessively large level differences will not result in equipment being consumed by the system.

3. Mandatory Rest Removal: During the Ascension War, the mandatory rest rule at night is lifted. Players can arrange their own schedules, but should be aware that prolonged lack of rest may lead to increased mental strain and permanent attribute depletion.

……

III. War Objectives and Conditions for Victory

1. Core objective: Eliminate or force all other participating races (currently: Humans, Pigmen, Skaven, Goblins, Eagleborn, and Demon Bears) to lose their capital cities, and ensure that your own capital city survives to the end.

2. Defeat Penalty: The race that ultimately loses in the Ascension War will have all its player units permanently converted into 'Wild Creatures' templates, losing their player identity and most of their intelligence, which is irreversible.

3. Victory Rewards: The winning race will receive the following rewards:

The main city has been upgraded to level 2.

The level cap for races has been raised to 199.

Permanently exempts you from the penalty of "death level reset" (future deaths will only be penalized by respawn time).

They gained the qualification to enter a higher-level plane—the "Battlefield of the Heavens".

……

IV. Contribution and Ranking System

During the promotion war, a real-time racial contribution ranking and merit point system will be launched.

Contribution ranking affects the final reward distribution.

Merit points can be exchanged for generous rewards such as special titles, rare equipment, and limited skills in the War Shop.
