Full health is the kill threshold, no matter if you're a god or a demon!

"Not fighting?" Wang Mian asked, somewhat surprised. "Giving up?"

Wu Zhan frowned: "This isn't like you at all!"

Liu Nian then told the two of them about the mission he had just completed and the matter of the [Path of the Dragonborn].

The two were stunned after hearing this.

"Holy crap, are you serious?"

"Really!" Liu Nian said, "The option is right in front of me now. As long as I click 'agree,' I will immediately leave the Blue Star human camp! I was still hesitating because I was wondering how you would fight the Ascension War without me."

"Then what are we hesitating for? Choose! Damn, we're not going to be treated like monkeys anymore!!"

Wu Zhan waved his hand and then spent 10 gold coins to start ranting in the main channel of the human faction on Earth:

【I am Wu Zhan! Everyone shut the fuck up and listen to me!!】

[Our little blue town was bombed, but we Chinese won't take the blame! There was a traitor among you!]

[Twelve bombs, planted over two days. The person who planted the bombs was named Matt, a Druid player and a remnant of Charles's faction. The person who helped him plant the bombs perfectly replicated the identity of a player from the same faction; she used Liu Nian's face, and also my and Wang Mian's faces... to infiltrate the city and complete the placement of all the bomb sites.]

The people who provided him with cover and facilitated his actions were from an organization called "The Eye of Truth." Members included: Leon von Hoffmann, Av Alkami, Selena Astra… and all the Western players who participated in or acquiesced to this!

[Are you afraid of the Banner of Exile? Do you think players from the Dragon Kingdom have too much say? So you want to check and balance them, and control the narrative?]

[Good! Is there enough of a balance of power now?]

【The Azure Town is gone, humanity has no main city anymore. You want a voice? Fine, go build your own main city! Once it's built, you can call the shots yourself; we won't interfere in a single detail!】

"You think you're so capable? You can fight the rest of the battle yourselves! We're not playing along."

[From this moment forward, I hereby declare that all guilds beginning with the character "Dragon" are withdrawing from the Blue Star Human Alliance and will no longer participate in the Ascension War!]

Everyone do their own thing, and take responsibility for their own lives!

That concludes the speech.

The channel was completely silent.

Then, like boiling water, it exploded with a roar.

"What does 'martial arts battle' mean?!"

"What do you mean by withdrawing from the coalition? You Chinese are not going to fight anymore?!"

"This is a slander against Wu Zhan!!"

"Stop arguing! If we don't work together now, it's really over!"

"Are you Chinese players trying to shift the blame?"

"Haha, who are you trying to scare? You think you can just stop fighting like that? What, are you waiting to turn into monsters if you don't fight?"

"At worst, we'll all perish together!"

"President Leon, say something! Was it really you who provided cover?"

"Damn it, I knew those druids were no good! But some people just had to get close to them!"

"What do we do now? If the Chinese leave, who will fight? Who will be at the front?"

"Heh, didn't you complain about their influence before? Now that they're really gone, you're crying and begging them to come back?"

"Who asked? We can still fight without the Chinese!"

"You think you can fight? You think you can fight them with your head? Without your main city, you can't even fight the pigmen yourselves!"

……

Leon stared at the messages flooding the faction chat, his face turning deathly pale.

Behind him, Selena suddenly stood up, her voice trembling: "How could Wu Zhan do this? He's putting us in such a precarious position!"

"What he said..." Afu's voice was dry, "was every word true?"

"That's still not allowed..."

"Can't what? Can't you tell the truth?" Afu raised her head, her eyes red-rimmed. "Leon, you just said you'd control the losses, how are you going to control them? All the Chinese have left, and you're saying you can rebuild the main city in thirty days? Can you do that?"

Leon did not answer.

Selena said, "He was just saying that in anger. The promotion battle concerns everyone's lives! It's not something he can just decide to cancel!"

"Yes, Wu Zhan has always been very focused on the big picture. Even if he feels uncomfortable, he will put aside personal grudges."

"We outnumber him; he needs our help to win!"

"Let's talk to him nicely, make him apologize, and ask him to put in more effort in the future! I know the Chinese people very well."

"I know Liu Nian. I added him as a friend during the meeting. If we can win him over, we'll have an advantage... Wait, what's wrong with Liu Nian...?" The man suddenly exclaimed, "Liu Nian...?"

"What's wrong? Don't just say half of what you mean!"

"Fuck, my friends list shows that Liu Nian is no longer in our...human faction!"

"What? Are you kidding me?"

"Are you kidding me?"

"I'm not kidding! His race isn't human, but... a descendant of dragons!"

"Dragon Descendant? What's that?"

"Could it be... that he's found a way to leave the camp?"

"Very likely! The upgrade medals sold in the war shop can allow individuals to upgrade, leave their current faction, and ascend to become part of a stronger race!"

"So Wu Zhan confidently announced his departure... which means Liu Nian won't be the only one... It's very possible that all the Dragon Kingdom players will leave?"

"How can this be? How are we supposed to fight then? There's no way we can win!"

"Didn't you say before that you could fight just fine without them?"

"When did I say that?"

……

Hearing the argument, Afu laughed, a laugh that was more like a grimace.

"I was so stupid. I actually thought we could control something."

She took off the "Eye of Truth" badge and placed it on the table.

I'm quitting.

She turned around and walked away without looking back.

Selena looked at the badge, then at Leon, her lips moved, but she ultimately said nothing.

Inside the outpost, one by one, people removed their badges and chose to leave.

Leon stood alone in the same spot.

The ruins outside the window were still smoldering.

Let's go back five minutes.

Before Liu Nian was a system notification box that had been hovering for a long time.

[Will I ascend to become a descendant of the Dragon God?]

He stretched out his hand.

Click on "Confirm".

[System Prompt: Error! Please ascend using your main body!]

Liu Nian was stunned for a moment before realizing that he was now in a body copied by the Heart of Deception.

So they returned to the floating city and summoned the original body.

This time, the system prompted again before ascension:

[System Prompt: After ascension, you will be removed from the Ascension Battle and your level cap will be raised to 199. Once your level surpasses 99, you will be forcibly removed from this area and, depending on your location, will be transported to the Abyss!]

[When you travel to the Land of Abyss, as the first person after the reappearance of the Dragonborn, you will automatically gain the status of the Dragonborn leader. You can establish your own level 2 main city or choose to settle in the system's main city.]

You must travel to the Land of Abyss within 30 days.

Liu Nian stopped again after seeing the prompt.

It is clear that once one chooses to ascend, one can no longer participate in the Ascension War as a human from Earth.

That makes sense. You've already exceeded the level cap, and you're still bullying players in the newbie village? The system won't allow that!

This is somewhat similar to cultivation novels, where once you successfully transcend the tribulation, the laws of heaven and earth no longer allow you to stay in the lower realm and bully others.

However, Liu Nian suddenly remembered the few Fogborn he encountered when he rescued Mia. They were high-level players who had entered Mia's "newbie village" through special means.

So, can Liu Nian, who has a deceitful heart, return to Dragon City by transforming into a Fogborn and using the World Tree?

The Boundary Tree devoured one of the goblin locators he had left behind, and Liu Nian can still teleport there now.

Liu Nian felt that there shouldn't be any major problems.

So I reached out and clicked "OK".
