They swam toward the giant tortoise's head, which, according to the information, is also one of the entrances to Matalion, the tortoise's two nostrils.

There was nothing guarding the area, and the nostrils looked like they were blocked by a semi-transparent light barrier. Given the size of the behemoth, it would be a little difficult to enter, so Liu Nian put away the behemoth and swam with Kal'tsit towards one of the nostrils.

As soon as I passed through the light curtain, I felt a slight dizziness, and I was directly teleported into the city.

The sight here broadened their horizons.

The buildings here are neither as orderly as those in Ovitan, nor as rugged as those in the Savage Fortress; rather, they are... alive.

The walls are covered with various moving plants or corals, and the streets are lined with ocean-style houses. Above is a semi-transparent membrane dome, the highest point of which is the spire of the Eternal Tower, as if it supports this curtain of light.

There was a faint salty, fishy smell in the air, but it wasn't unpleasant.

Just then, a three-meter-tall Mind Flayer walked past them, its purple tentacles fluttering behind its head. As it passed by, it glanced at Liu Nian, a hint of curiosity flashing in its pupil-less eyes.

Then several eye demons floated overhead, their tiny eyeballs darting around, staring at Liu Nian for several seconds before drifting away.

Kal'tsit moved closer to Liu Nian and accidentally stepped into a clump of mud.

"Damn it! Watch out!"

The lump of mud suddenly made a sound, and Kal'tsit then realized that it wasn't mud at all... it was a slime player.

"Oh, I'm sorry!"

A green creature with a stall nearby chuckled softly.

Kal'tsit felt a chill run down her spine and instinctively moved closer to Liu Nian.

The most human-like creatures here are all sorts of mermaids and fish-men. They all look at the two of them with curiosity, especially when they see Liu Nian. They whisper to each other and make gurgling sounds.

"They're all watching you," Kal'tsit whispered.

"I know," Liu Nian said without changing his expression.

In fact, it wasn't just about looking. He could feel countless eyes watching him from the moment he stepped into Matalion.

Most alien races have far more acute senses than humanoid races; they can perceive things that ordinary people cannot.

For example—this level 132 dragon descendant has an aura that makes them uneasy.

"Are you the descendant of the dragon?" A deep voice came from the street.

Liu Nian looked in the direction of the sound and saw a gargoyle sitting on the steps. It was entirely gray-black, with its wings folded behind it, making it look like a sculpture, but its eyes were moving—grayish-white vertical pupils, staring at Liu Nian.

"Is it the one who killed Kazron with one punch?" A slime monster nearby made a gurgling sound.

"It should be him," the gargoyle said. "It's all over the big channels."

"Doesn't look like much." The slime monster looked Liu Nian up and down. "Level 132? I could beat him."

The gargoyle sneered, "You think you can beat Kaz'ron?"

The slime monster fell silent.

Liu Nian ignored these discussions and inquiries.

They were curious about Liu Nian, and Liu Nian was equally curious about this place.

However, the differences between the monsters and humans were too great, and their understanding of the same things differed greatly, so Liu Nian had little interest in communicating with them.

The two wandered around Matarian for a while, from the trading market to the auction house, from the quest hall to the artisan's shop. The trading market here was indeed unique, selling all sorts of strange things—staffs that could cast spells on their own, equipment that could twist enemy spells, traps woven from the tentacles of abyssal creatures that automatically targeted enemies…

Liu Nian bought some useful materials and also found a map from a strange merchant, which marked the resource points in the sea around Matalion.

"Guild Master," Kal'tsit suddenly said, "have you noticed that everyone here is quite...polite to you?"

Liu Nian thought about it and agreed.

Although many monsters stared at him along the way, none of them came to cause trouble. Several even made way for him, and one mind flayer even nodded to him—a rather friendly gesture in the culture of monsters.

This was, of course, because Liu Nian had previously publicly provoked the leader of the Glory Guild in the main channel, and even disregarded the first and second place on the combat power ranking!

Nobody wants to mess with a madman like him. What if he gets impulsive and challenges you to a life-or-death duel?

After browsing for a while, the two lost interest in continuing. Although there were many trendy items, most of them were unusable by humanoid races. Liu Nian and Kal'tsit just strolled around casually before losing interest in shopping.

So they headed straight toward the Tower of Eternity.

The closer you get to the tower, the taller the buildings become, and the wider the streets. The monsters around you are noticeably more powerful.

"President," Kelsey tugged at his sleeve and whispered, "the one in front."

Liu Nian looked up.

Ten meters ahead, a tall figure stood in the middle of the street, blocking the way.

It was... how should I put it, like a pink octopus magnified several times.

It has eight tentacles, two of which support its body, allowing it to stand upright like a human, while the other six hang down at its sides, acting as arms. Each tentacle ends in a weapon—a staff, a dagger, a short sword, or a crossbow. Its head is a smooth, oval sphere with four black eyes, all currently staring at Liu Nian.

Zoltan (Level 199, Guild Master of the Strangler Guild)

Zoltan tilted his head to look at Liu Nian, his four eyes blinking.

"You're Liu Nian?"

Liu Nian stopped in his tracks: "It's me."

The atmosphere became tense, and the strange creatures around them slowly gathered around.

Zoltan's tentacles twitched slightly, as if he were contemplating something.

Then it did something that shocked all the strange creatures around it—

It sidestepped and made way.

"Please," it said in a flat voice.

Liu Nian glanced at it, nodded, and calmly walked past it with Kal'tsit.

Only after Liu Nian had gone far away did the surrounding monsters dare to approach.

"Zoltan, why did you give way to him?" a strange creature covered in coral asked incredulously.

Zoltan always hated humans who loved takoyaki!

Zoltan's four eyes narrowed simultaneously. It didn't answer, but simply watched Liu Nian's departing figure and whispered:

"It's dangerous. Some things have nothing to do with rank."
