Full health is the kill threshold, no matter if you're a god or a demon!

Chapter 397 looks familiar; it's from Season 7.

The walls on both sides of the ramp were not rock, but smooth metal plates covered with rivets and welds. Every few steps there was a groove, embedded with copper tubes, gears, springs, and connecting rods, layered upon each other, like the internal structure of a giant clock. But all of these metals were covered with thick rust—the copper tubes were dark green and bulging, the gears were worn and missing teeth, the springs were limp and sagging, and the rivets and welds were rusted beyond recognition.

The air was thick with the musty smell of oxidized metal and dried-out engine oil, like an ancient tomb that had been sealed for thousands of years.

On the inside of the ramp, rows of rusted mechanical arms stretched out stiffly, their handheld mine lamps long since lost their light, leaving only darkness ahead.

Liu Nian stood at the entrance of the ramp, his gaze sweeping over the rusty robotic arms, the barely functioning mine lamps, and the gears and linkages worn to their limits.

This thing... looks very familiar!

This design style—precise gear structure, complex mechanical transmission, and every part meshing together seamlessly…

"This is..." he murmured.

"The remnants of an ancient mechanical civilization." Riftscale's voice came from ahead, tinged with a barely perceptible awe. "It is said that a powerful force once attempted to unify the battlefields of the heavens, but ultimately failed. That was the grand epic battle known as the Omnic Wars, recorded as one of the major events of the battlefields of the heavens, and some also refer to it as Season 7..."

"Huh?" Liu Nian and Chakner were both stunned upon hearing this...

"The Battlefield of the Gods has witnessed many major events, some of which are truly revolutionary and are often named 'Seasons' because their emergence permanently alters the Battlefield of the Gods... such as the previous Spore Campaign, and before that, the Abyss Invasion, the Age of Zombification..."

"And the closest one to us is the Omnic Wars. Although they were defeated, these things are everywhere beneath the battlefield of the heavens. For example, this underground city was left behind by a force called the 'Gear Council.' They used to be the rulers of this area, but then something happened and they disappeared overnight."

"Let's go. Hundreds of years have passed, and most of the mechanisms here are no longer functional. However, try not to touch anything carelessly. Although the defense system here has been out of order for centuries, some things can still kill!"

Liu Nian and Chakna followed behind Lie Lin and stepped into the deep slope.

The metal plates beneath their feet groaned dully, each step sending up a subtle tremor that carried far and wide through the tunnel. A few of the dying mineral lamps on either side would flicker briefly as they passed, then go out with a final, sighing "pop."

Liu Nian certainly didn't know anything about machine warfare; he just felt that this thing was very similar to the style of engineering dwarves!

Liu Nian did not find any Engineering Dwarf NPC forces in the Naraku Realm. Could they be here?

He didn't know whether this was good or bad for him.

He has a good relationship with the dwarves and enjoys high prestige within the faction.

However, it is unclear what the relationship is between the engineering dwarfs here and the engineering dwarfs under the command of Prince Gelbin in the competition area.

They might have a very good relationship; for example, the Gelbins were a branch of the dwarfs here who were sent to other places to spread their influence.

But it's also possible that Gerbin lost the political struggle and was exiled, which would then establish a hostile relationship...

The ramp was much longer than Liu Nian had anticipated.

The downward slope was gentle, and after walking for nearly ten minutes, it was still pitch black ahead. The walls on both sides gradually changed from metal plates to exposed rock layers, but various metal components—pipes, cables, gearboxes—were still embedded in the rock layers, like the skeleton of a mechanical behemoth half-buried in mud and rocks.

The stench of decaying engine oil in the air grew stronger, mixed with some kind of ancient scent.

Liu Nian walked at the very back, his gaze sweeping over the rusted components on the wall.

He could recognize some of them—drive shafts, gears, hydraulic cylinders—these were all mechanical structures commonly used by engineering dwarfs. But there were others he couldn't understand at all, their precision far exceeding anything he had ever seen in the dwarf cities of the competition zone.

Rift Scale stopped in its tracks, and a huge space appeared in front of it.

The ramp abruptly ends here, as if it had been cut in half by something, revealing a circular shaft with a diameter of nearly 100 meters.

The walls of the shaft are covered with dense metal supports and pipes, like the rings of a giant tree, extending deeper and deeper.

Diagonally opposite the shaft, there is a passage of the same width, but separated by this huge shaft.

There are two options: go down into the shaft or fly to the other side.

"Fly over there!" After saying that, a pair of energy wings appeared on his back, and with a gentle flap, he flew directly over.

Chakna spread his dragon wings and flew over easily.

The two turned to look at Liu Nian, who also leaped into the air. A pair of dark wings emerged from behind him. Although he could not fly, he could glide. Since it was a slope, he could glide over it with ease.

However, as he slowly flew over the shaft, he glanced down and saw something moving below.

They noticed something moving above their heads one after another, and like ants, they climbed up the walls of the shaft!

They were very fast, and in the blink of an eye, Liu Nian could see what they were.

Cave dwellers! At least a hundred of them!

"Hurry up!"

After landing, Liu Nian said.

Riftscale seemed to have no intention of getting entangled with these cave dwellers, and immediately turned and left!

In the end, the dragon demon used some kind of earth magic to block the passage behind him.

The passage ahead was much wider than the previous ramp, and some relatively complete devices finally began to appear on the walls on both sides—control consoles, instrument panels, and several rows of screens that had been turned off.

The glass surface of the screen was covered with a layer of dust, but the characters underneath were visible. These characters were completely different from those used by the engineering dwarfs; they were more concise and resembled some kind of code.

"What are these?" Chuckner poked at a control panel with the tip of his claw.

"Don't touch it." Lie Lin frowned. "I've already told you, the defense system here is still operational."

Liu Nian walked at the very back, his gaze never leaving Chuckner.

This dragon demon appears honest on the surface, but his hands are anything but clean.

While Riftscale was scouting ahead, he secretly poked at the buttons on the control panel with his claws; when Riftscale turned to look at him, he immediately put on an honest and obedient act, folding his dragon wings neatly and dragging his tail obediently on the ground.

But as soon as Riftscale turned its head, its tail started to become unruly.

It keeps rubbing against the pipes on the wall or snagging at the cables on the floor, just like a cat that's wandered into a warehouse.
