A sharp, incredulous scream rang out at the cave entrance.

Biyao returned and stood at the cave entrance.

From her perspective, Jiang Xiaochuan was bound, yet he leaned forward with all his might, his face almost touching You Ji's chest. And that tilted-up, close-up posture... clearly looked like he was asking for a kiss. And You Ji... her veil had fallen off, her cheeks were flushed, yet she didn't push him away immediately.

Biyao's mind went blank with a "buzz".

In an instant, Jiang Xiaochuan's previous statement, "The material that Aunt You gave me had a special flavor," along with his various evasive and dodging attempts, all rushed back to her, stringing together a "truth" that chilled her to the bone.

Upon hearing this, Youji immediately tried to back away and explain, "Yao'er, it's not..."

"What should we do, Aunt You?" Jiang Xiaochuan spoke first, even deliberately moving closer to You Ji, turning his face to face Bi Yao, who was staring blankly at the cave entrance with a pale face, his expression a mixture of panic, helplessness, and despair. "Our affair... has been discovered."

You Ji froze, abruptly turning to look at Jiang Xiaochuan, her eyes filled with astonishment and anger. She opened her mouth, "You're talking nonsense..."

Biyao didn't let her finish speaking.

"Jiang Xiaochuan! Aunt You!" Biyao screamed, tears streaming down her face. She seemed to have completely collapsed. She rushed forward, raised her hand, and with all her might, slapped Jiang Xiaochuan hard across the face.

"Snapped!"

The crisp, loud sound of a slap echoed through the cave.

Jiang Xiaochuan's face was turned to one side by the slap, and his cheek quickly became red and swollen. He spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva, looked up at Biyao with a complicated expression, but did not speak.

After finishing her attack, Biyao didn't even glance at Youji. As if she had used up her last bit of strength, she turned around crying and staggered out of the cave.

"Yao'er! Let me explain!" Youji was extremely anxious and could no longer care about Jiang Xiaochuan. She flashed out and chased after him. The light and shadow at the cave entrance flickered, but soon returned to silence.

Inside the cave, only Jiang Xiaochuan, bound to the stalagmite, remained, his cheeks burning with pain.

He slowly exhaled a breath of stale air, the feigned panic and helplessness in his eyes fading away, leaving only calmness and a faint trace of guilt. But soon, that guilt was also suppressed.

"I'm sorry, Biyao," he said softly, as if talking to himself.

Immediately afterwards, he closed his eyes, and his consciousness sank into his mind.

"Sister Hongli," he called out in his heart.

After a few moments, Hong Li's lazy yet slightly teasing voice rang out: "Oh, got into trouble? Got beaten up by your little sweetheart, huh? Serves you right."

"Wife," Jiang Xiaochuan readily complied, her voice soft and sweet, filled with utmost sincerity, "Please help your husband, I beg you. It'll be too late if we wait any longer."

Hongli seemed quite pleased with being called "wife," letting out a soft hum and speaking in a more relaxed tone: "So, what do you want your wife to do this time?"

"Tell the Godslayer Spear to come here right away. And also, help me untie this rope."

"And the price?" Hongli asked slowly.

"Good wife, dear wife..." Jiang Xiaochuan had no morals whatsoever.

"Alright, alright, that's cheesy." Hong Li seemed annoyed by the sweetness, but the satisfaction in her tone was undeniable. "Just wait."

Meanwhile, somewhere to the south, a dark red light, like a shooting star tearing through the night sky, shot toward the desolate cave to the north at an incredible speed!

Almost the instant the dark red light disappeared into the cave, the pile of black ropes that had been quietly resting at Jiang Xiaochuan's feet suddenly snapped inch by inch without a sound, as if cut by an invisible blade.

The spiritual energy flowed freely and unimpeded instantly!

Jiang Xiaochuan's body jolted as he broke free of the broken ropes. He stretched his newly freed limbs and grabbed the God-Slaying Spear that flew in front of him. The spear was cold to the touch, and the dark red patterns on it flowed slightly in the dim light, giving off a joyful tremor.

He took one last look at the empty cave entrance, where the tearful eyes of Biyao and the anxious back of Youji seemed to still linger.

Without further hesitation.

He gripped the God-Slaying Spear, channeling his spiritual power into it. The spear hummed, lifting him up and transforming him into a faint yet incredibly swift dark red streak of light. He burst out of the cave and, without pausing, sped towards the south of Liubo Mountain, the direction from which the summons had been sent.

The sea breeze was biting, and he flew extremely fast, leaving the cave to the north and everything that had just happened inside far behind.

I'm sorry, Biyao.

He repeated it to himself.

But some roads must ultimately be walked alone.

……

On the other side, inside the spacious cave where the Ghost King temporarily took refuge.

Biyao threw herself into the Ghost King's arms, sobbing uncontrollably as she recounted what she had just witnessed.

Youji stood aside, her expression still cold, but her eyes held a rare urgency and helplessness. She tried to interject and explain several times, but was interrupted by Biyao's excited crying.

The Ghost King gently patted his daughter's back, his gaze briefly meeting You Ji's. You Ji shook her head almost imperceptibly, her eyes reassuring.

After Biyao's sobs subsided and she finished speaking in choked sobs, the Ghost King slowly opened his mouth, his voice steady: "Yao'er, calm down. Youji has followed me for many years, and you should know her character. There's probably more to this than meets the eye."

Biyao raised her tear-filled face, looked at her father, and then at Youji. Youji immediately stepped forward and quickly and clearly recounted the events that had just transpired in the cave, emphasizing Jiang Xiaochuan's abrupt approach and deliberate misleading.

As Biyao listened, the anger and sadness on her face gradually gave way to bedaze. She wasn't stupid; she was just blinded by the shock of what she had "seen with her own eyes" and her preconceived suspicions. Now that she had calmed down, she recalled Jiang Xiaochuan's previous behavior and Youji's usual temperament...

"He...he did it on purpose?" Biyao murmured, the color draining from her face. "He lied to me? He used me...and dumped me?"

This realization was more painful and harder for her to accept than the thought that Youji and Jiang Xiaochuan had an affair. She suddenly raised her hand and slapped herself hard.

"Yao'er!" Ghost King and You Ji called out at the same time, and Ghost King grabbed her wrist as she raised it again.

"I was stupid... I was so stupid..." Biyao's tears welled up again, this time with regret and self-loathing. "I actually believed him... I even hit him..."

The Ghost King pressed down on her shoulders and said in a deep voice, "Now is not the time for self-blame. That brat is cunning and deliberately created chaos; I'm afraid he's..."

His gaze suddenly shifted to You Ji.

You Ji's heart skipped a beat, and she blurted out, "He's bound by the 'Spirit-Binding Rope,' his spiritual power is restricted, there's absolutely no way he can break free on his own! Even if he wanted to escape, he couldn't get very far!"

The Ghost King frowned, and the vague unease in his heart suddenly intensified.

"Let's go back and take a look!"

The three of them moved swiftly and quickly returned to the secluded cave.

The cave was empty except for black ropes scattered on the ground, completely devoid of their luster and broken into several pieces, lying quietly on the damp ground like dead snakes.

There was nothing else besides that.

Ghost King and You Ji exchanged a glance, both seeing astonishment in each other's eyes. The Soul-Binding Rope was a secret treasure of the Ghost King Sect, incredibly tough and specifically designed to counter spiritual power. Even they themselves would have to put in considerable effort to break free. How did that kid... manage to do it?

Looking at the empty cave and the broken ropes on the ground, Biyao's last glimmer of hope vanished. Her legs went weak, and she could barely stand. Youji supported her.

"He's gone...he's really gone..." Biyao's voice was hollow, tears streaming silently down her face. "He doesn't want me anymore..."

The Ghost King looked solemnly at the gloomy sky outside the cave entrance and the faint sound of waves in the distance.

He paused for a moment, then raised his hand and gently placed it on his daughter's trembling shoulder.

He's still on Liubo Mountain. We'll meet again someday.

Biyao raised her tearful eyes and looked at her father.

The Ghost King said nothing more, but gently embraced his daughter.

Biyao buried her face in her father's chest, and her suppressed, broken sobs finally escaped, drowned out by the endless sound of the waves outside the cave.

Yu Ji stood silently to the side, gazing at the vast sea and sky outside the cave entrance. Her face beneath the black veil was serene, except for a faint, complex ripple in the depths of her exposed eyes.

The cave returned to silence.

Only the salty sea breeze kept pouring in from the cave entrance, stirring the dead rope fragments on the ground, causing them to tumble slightly.
