Back at the bamboo hut on Xiaozhu Peak, red candles burned brightly, casting a warm red glow throughout the room. Large red "double happiness" characters were pasted on the windows, mandarin ducks were embroidered on the quilts, and a nuptial wine and several plates of pastries were laid out on the table. Everything was red, festive, yet strangely unfamiliar.

Lu Xueqi closed the door, shutting out the noise. The room quieted down, with only the occasional crackling of candle flames breaking.

She walked to the table, poured two glasses of wine, and handed one to Jiang Xiaochuan.

"The nuptial wine," she said.

Jiang Xiaochuan took it, and the two intertwined their arms, leaning closer. The smell of alcohol mixed with her cool aura filled his nostrils. He looked into her eyes, which were so close to his own. Her long eyelashes cast shadows under her eyes, her nose was straight, and her lips were red, glistening with moisture from the alcohol.

His heart was pounding, his hands were trembling, and a few drops of wine spilled out.

"Are you scared?" Lu Xueqi asked in a low voice.

Jiang Xiaochuan shook his head, then nodded, unsure whether he was afraid or not.

Lu Xueqi smiled, leaned closer, and took a sip from the glass in his hand. He followed suit and took a sip as well. The wine was very spicy, burning from his throat to his stomach.

Lu Xueqi put down her cup, looked at him for a long time, then reached out and touched his cheek.

"Jiang Xiaochuan." She called his name, slowly and clearly.

"Um?"

"You're mine now."

She said it calmly, as if stating a fact, and then she lowered her head and kissed him.

She pried open his teeth, her tongue probing in, reeking of alcohol, and entwined with his. Jiang Xiaochuan's mind went blank, unsure of where to put his hands, and finally grabbed her collar, holding it tightly.

After a long kiss, Lu Xueqi finally let go, her forehead pressed against his, her breathing a little erratic. She looked at him, her eyes blazing with a bright, burning light.

"I..." she began, her voice hoarse. She paused, then pulled something out of her pocket.

Jiang Xiaochuan looked down and saw a blue booklet with worn-out edges. He froze. This book…

Lu Xueqi's cheeks flushed, she looked away, and said in a voice so low it was almost inaudible, "I left it."

His face flushed red, and he stammered, "Why...why are you keeping this...?"

Lu Xueqi didn't answer, but instead stuffed the book into his hands, and then reached out to start untying his belt.

Jiang Xiaochuan froze, clutching the book in his hand as if it were a piece of charcoal. His belt was loosened, and Lu Xueqi's hand pressed against his waist. Through the thin fabric, her palm was burning hot.

"Wait, wait..." He shrank back, his back against the bedpost.

Lu Xueqi moved closer, bracing herself on either side of him, trapping him between the bedpost and herself. She was taller than him, and in this position, he was almost trapped in her shadow. She looked down at him, her breath brushing against his face, carrying the scent of wine.

"Waiting for what?" she asked, her voice low and husky, her eyes filled with amusement, but also something else.

Jiang Xiaochuan was speechless, only looking at her. The candlelight behind her gilded her silhouette, and a few strands of her hair fell down beside her cheeks, swaying gently with her breath.

Her cheeks were flushed, her eyes were glistening with tears, her lips were slightly parted, and her breath was hot.

"It looks great," the thought popped into his head, and his face grew even hotter.

Lu Xueqi kissed him again, this time more urgently, her hand reaching inside his clothes and caressing his chest. Jiang Xiaochuan trembled, the book in his hand falling to the ground with a soft thud. He didn't care anymore, grabbing her clothes and tugging at them haphazardly, trying to pull her closer, yet it also seemed like he was pushing her away.

One by one, their clothes slipped off and piled up at their feet. The bed was covered with a bright red brocade quilt, embroidered with mandarin ducks, which was dazzlingly red in the candlelight.

Lu Xueqi laid him down on the bed and then covered him with her. Their skin touched, and they both trembled. Her body was cool, like jade, but the place where she touched him quickly became hot. Jiang Xiaochuan closed his eyes, not daring to look, unsure of where to put his hands. Finally, he wrapped his arms around her neck and pulled her down.

The kiss moved from his lips to his chin, then to his neck. Lu Xueqi sucked on the side of his neck, leaving a red mark. She looked at it with satisfaction, then lowered her head and took it into her mouth. Jiang Xiaochuan shuddered and let out a soft moan.

"Xueqi..." he called her in a hoarse voice.

"Mmm," she responded, her hand moving down, stroking his waist, then sliding to his crotch. Jiang Xiaochuan tensed up, his toes curling.

Just then, a red light flashed inside the room.

A figure appeared by the bedside without warning.

Lu Xueqi froze, then suddenly looked up. Jiang Xiaochuan also opened his eyes and saw the woman standing by the bed. His mind went blank for a moment.

She was an extremely beautiful woman, dressed in red, tall and voluptuous, with beautiful eyes and a smile on her lips, watching the two people on the bed with great interest.

Lu Xueqi reacted quickly, pulling the quilt over herself and Jiang Xiaochuan, holding him tightly in her arms, her eyes turning cold as she stared at the uninvited guest.

"Who are you?" Her voice, still tinged with lust, was even colder and more ruthless.

The woman in red raised an eyebrow, her gaze falling on Jiang Xiaochuan's face, her smile deepening: "Young master, don't you recognize me?"

That sound...

Jiang Xiaochuan's eyes widened: "Sister Hongli?"

"It's me." Hong Li nodded, took a step forward, and looked Lu Xueqi up and down. A look of amazement flashed in her eyes. "Little Bingbing, you really managed to win over my girl. That's interesting."

Lu Xueqi hugged Jiang Xiaochuan tightly, her whole body on guard: "What do you want to do?"

"Don't be nervous," Hongli waved her hand, sat down on the chair by the bed, crossed her legs, and adopted a lazy posture.

"I'm not here to ruin your plans. There's just something important I need to tell you now."

"explain."

Hongli stopped laughing and her expression became more serious: "Little master, do you know what's wrong with your body?"

Jiang Xiaochuan paused for a moment, then peeked out from under the covers and nodded.

"Your heart is the Bloodthirsty Bead," Hong Li said slowly, word by word. "Your bones were fused with the Soul-Seizing Staff. It was out of necessity back then, but now that I have solidified my body, I can help you remove it."

Lu Xueqi's eyes narrowed: "Take it out? How?"

"There are two methods." Hongli held up two fingers. "One is to remove it directly, but that would be extremely painful, involving cutting out the heart and bones."

Jiang Xiaochuan's face paled. Lu Xueqi tightened her grip on him: "A second method?"

Hong Li looked at Lu Xueqi, her gaze sweeping over her face, and smiled: "The second one, you take his place."

"I?"

"Yes. You switch bodies, you enter his body, he enters your body, and I will cast a spell from the outside to detach the Blood-Devouring Bead and the Soul-Capturing Staff from his body. You will bear the pain."

Jiang Xiaochuan immediately shook his head: "No! You can't!"

"I can do it," Lu Xueqi said, her voice steady. "This is the method."

"Xueqi!"

"I said, yes." Lu Xueqi looked down at him, her eyes leaving no room for doubt.

"But……"

"No buts." Lu Xueqi looked up at Hong Li. "Shall we cast the spell now?"

Hongli nodded, got up, walked to the bedside, formed a hand seal, and red light emanated from her fingertips. She glanced at the two people on the bed and chuckled, "Close your eyes."

Before Jiang Xiaochuan could say anything, Lu Xueqi covered his eyes with her hand. His vision went black, and he felt a surge of heat flow from between his eyebrows, quickly spreading throughout his body. His body felt as if it were being torn apart or thrown into the void. A sense of weightlessness washed over him, and he groaned and fainted.
