Jiang Xiaochuan frowned and moved closer to her: "Are you alright?"
"I don't need your pretense!" Biyao turned her face away, her voice stiff and sullen.
Jiang Xiaochuan ignored her, reached into his robes, rummaged around for a while, and pulled out a small white jade bottle.
Pulling out the stopper, a golden pill the size of a longan was poured out. As soon as the pill came out, a faint, bitter medicinal fragrance wafted out.
Biyao smelled the fragrance of the medicine and couldn't help but turn around to take a look. The pill was full of spiritual energy and was obviously not an ordinary product.
Jiang Xiaochuan held the pill in his hand, and with his other hand quickly grabbed Biyao's chin, pressing his thumb against her cheek before she could react.
"Hmm!"
Biyao was forced to open her mouth, and the pill was shoved inside.
The pill melted instantly upon entering the mouth, transforming into a warm and mellow medicinal power that slid down the throat and quickly spread to every part of the body. Wherever it passed, the piercing pain and dull ache in the internal organs immediately lessened considerably, leaving a warm and comfortable sensation.
Biyao was stunned for a moment, swallowed the medicine, and then realized what was happening. She stared at him and asked, "What...what did you give me?"
Jiang Xiaochuan withdrew his hand, looked at the empty bottle in his hand, a look of pain on his face, and sighed: "Aphrodisiac."
Biyao: "..."
"If no one helps him, he will explode and die within the time it takes for an incense stick to burn," Jiang Xiaochuan added, his tone serious, but a faint smile flashed in his eyes.
Biyao would be a fool to believe him. The medicine was mild and mellow, clearly a holy medicine for healing. She felt her injuries recovering rapidly and felt warmth within her body. Looking at his feigned concern, something in her heart seemed to be gently touched.
She lowered her eyes, her fingers unconsciously twirling the hem of her dress, and very softly uttered:
"……Thanks."
"What did you say?" Jiang Xiaochuan immediately leaned closer, tilting his ear, his face showing exaggerated confusion. "I didn't hear you clearly."
Biyao blushed, knowing he was teasing her again, and turned her face away, ignoring him.
Jiang Xiaochuan wouldn't let her off the hook, grinning as he moved closer: "I saved you and gave you such precious medicine, and all you say is thank you? That's so insincere! How about..."
He drew out the last word, his eyes sweeping over her face, "In return for your services?"
"You're dreaming!" Biyao whirled around, glaring at him. Any gratitude she'd felt moments before vanished instantly. "If you hadn't taken my Heartbreak Flower, would I be in this sorry state? Would I have been driven to this point by that Black Water Serpent?"
"Even if the flower of sorrow is in your hand, you can't stop it."
Jiang Xiaochuan sat back down, speaking matter-of-factly: "That Blackwater Serpent is an ancient demonic beast with unfathomable power. Your Heartbreak Flower may be beautiful, but it's far inferior to it."
Biyao remained silent. She knew he was telling the truth; she had personally experienced the terror of the Black Water Serpent.
That kind of world-destroying power is simply beyond human resistance. Even with the Heartbreak Flower in hand, she has no chance of survival.
The cave fell silent again. The medicinal effects circulated through her body, and her injuries healed rapidly. Biyao felt less pain and her strength returned. She leaned against the rock wall, looking at Jiang Xiaochuan, who was resting with his eyes closed, opposite her.
His face was expressionless, his eyes were closed, and his breathing was steady, as if he were asleep.
But Biyao knew he wasn't. He was just resting and recovering. His injuries were quite severe; his clothes were tattered, and his exposed skin was covered in bruises and dried scabs. But he didn't seem to care much. From the moment he woke up until now, she hadn't heard him utter a single cry of pain.
This person... is very strange. Despite being a disciple of the Qingyun Sect and a rising star of the righteous path, he doesn't harbor any deep-seated hatred for the Demonic Sect. He even saves her and heals her wounds.
He spoke flippantly, but there was no wicked thought in his eyes; it was more like... teasing her?
Biyao couldn't understand it. She had grown up in the Ghost King Sect and was used to the fighting and hatred between the righteous and the demonic. Her father hated the Qingyun Sect, especially Dao Xuan Zhenren, to the bone. When the elders in the sect mentioned the righteous path, they mostly expressed contempt and disdain. But the person in front of her seemed... quite different.
After about the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, Jiang Xiaochuan opened his eyes. He stood up, moved his hands and feet, and his bones made a slight "crack" sound. He looked at the blocked entrance and then at the inside of the cave.
The cave wasn't large. Apart from the slightly more spacious area where they were, it seemed to extend further in, but it was darker and hard to see clearly.
"Let's go," he said, looking at Biyao.
Biyao also stood up. Her injuries had mostly healed, and she could move freely. She tugged at her oversized, ill-fitting outer robe, frowned, but still followed him.
"Where to?" she asked.
"Let's see if there are any other exits," Jiang Xiaochuan said, taking the lead into the depths of the cave. "We can't really be trapped here for half a year."
Biyao followed behind him. The cave was dark, with only a few glowing beads on the ceiling providing faint light. The ground was uneven and had puddles, so they had to be careful as they walked.
After walking for a while, Jiang Xiaochuan suddenly turned around, glanced at her, his gaze sweeping over her, and a mocking smile appeared on his lips.
"Speaking of which," he began, his tone relaxed, as if chatting casually, "when I held you on the beach earlier, it felt... well, it felt nice."
Biyao paused, her face flushing instantly. She remembered being held tightly by him, the softness his fingers had accidentally touched, and that gentle kneading... Those memories and sensations she had deliberately suppressed surged up instantly, so clear that they made her heart race.
"You...you shut up!" she said, her voice trembling with embarrassment and anger.
"I'm serious." Jiang Xiaochuan turned around to face her, a nostalgic expression on his face. He even raised his hand and gave her a loose squeeze, as if reminiscing. "Your waist was so slender, so supple, and..."
"I'll fight you to the death!"
Biyao could no longer hold back. She screamed and, disregarding her injuries and spiritual power, lunged at him! She had only one thought in her mind: to tear his talking nonsense mouth apart!
Jiang Xiaochuan was caught off guard by her sudden attack and was caught off guard, unable to dodge in time. She pounced on him squarely! The ground beneath their feet was slippery rock, and he lost his balance, falling backward as she tackled him!
"Bang!"
My back hit the cold rock wall, and it hurt a little.
Before him was a soft, warm body, carrying the fragrance of a young girl and a hint of anger, pressing him tightly down.
Biyao pounced on him, stunned herself. She braced her hands on the rock face on either side of his head, almost lying on top of him, face to face, close enough to see the fleeting surprise in his eyes and his slightly dilated pupils.
She sat on his waist, and the realization made her stiffen, her face burn, and her heart pound like a drum.
She could feel the firm, taut muscles beneath her and the clean, cold aura emanating from him.
Jiang Xiaochuan was pinned against the rock wall by her, and he was a little dazed. He looked at her face so close to his, her face flushed with a beautiful blush of anger and embarrassment, her eyes wide open, reflecting his image and a hint of panic that she couldn't hide.
"Hey, ma'am," he said, his voice a little hoarse and helpless, "could you move me? I'm heavy."
Biyao's face turned even redder. Heavy? How was she heavy! But... this posture was indeed not quite right.
She should get up immediately and stay far away from him.
But seeing his rare moment of frustration, and seeing the slight embarrassment on his usually playful face, she suddenly felt a strange, vengeful impulse surge within her.
Instead of getting up, she sat down further, using her waist and abdomen to press him even tighter against the rock wall.
She could clearly feel a change somewhere beneath her.
……
Biyao's body stiffened, and the color drained from her face instantly, only to return just as quickly, turning her face so red it was almost dripping blood.
Her mouth was dry, and her heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to jump out of her throat. She looked up at Jiang Xiaochuan.
Jiang Xiaochuan sensed it too. His face turned red, his eyes darted around, and he didn't dare to look at her. His body was tense, wanting to move but not daring to.
This posture instantly reminded her of the time at the beach when he hugged her from behind, his arms wrapped around her waist like iron bands, his chest pressed tightly against her back.
Now, their positions are reversed; she is on top of him, and can clearly feel the rise and fall of his chest, the vibration of his heartbeat, and... the gradual changes beneath him.
Two sensations overlapped in my memory: the hug back then was forced, cold, and threatening; while this current position, though initiated by her, was equally intimate and unsettling.
What made her heart race even faster was that she found she didn't dislike this closeness; in fact... when he turned his face away, his ears turned red, and he showed a rare moment of embarrassment, a strange, triumphant pleasure welled up inside her.
So, even someone as powerful as him has moments like this. This realization emboldened her. She leaned down, whispered in his ear, "Oh, so this is the esteemed disciple of the Qingyun Sect... unable to take it?"
