Chapter 123 A Little Interlude

But they simply couldn't swallow the giant loach.

The large loach is not only large in size, but also a symbol of strength.

Every large sea goby that sails on the South China Sea is blessed by the Dragon King. Without the Dragon King's blessing, even if such a large ship could be built, it would be impossible to sail.

Let's not even talk about whether they can swallow a giant sea eel. Even if they could, the forces behind the giant sea eel would hunt them down relentlessly, leaving them with nowhere to run!

But they still had to target the large loach because they were too hungry.

"Let's go!" Brother Feng swam out from the depths of the cave, his massive body swaying.

"Let's go beg for some, and have a good meal!"

Its movement caused the entire seabed to tremble, and sediment fell from the cave walls, creating a surging underwater current.

It was enormous, larger than the other sea monsters combined, like a moving mountain.

Suddenly, the crab next to them spoke up: "Brother Feng, the way you're saying it makes us sound like beggars."

Brother Feng turned his head, his big eyes staring at the crab: "Then what should we do?"

"We're borrowing," the crab said confidently, a sly glint in its eyes, "not begging."

Brother Feng's huge mouth split into a wide grin, as if he were laughing. He nodded and said, "Alright, alright! We'll borrow it."

Several sea monsters floated upwards together.

Their shapes emerged from the darkness of the deep sea, growing larger and clearer, like several mountain ranges rising from the seabed.

On the sea, the once clear sky suddenly changed color!

Dark clouds surged in from all directions, as if someone had poured a bucket of ink into the sky, turning the entire sky lead gray in the blink of an eye.

The waves surged, the wind howled, and a bolt of lightning cleaved through the dark clouds, illuminating the black figures, as large as mountains and as strong as city walls, that were rising on the sea.

A fierce wind and dark clouds suddenly enveloped the sea area near the giant loach. They came so fast that the sailors on the large ship didn't even have time to furl the sails.

The captain rushed out of the cockpit, looked up, and his face turned pale then red.

The one in white was scared, and the one in red was angry.

No way, someone actually dares to target a giant loach?

I really don't know how to live or die!

He stood at the bow of the ship, shouting at the top of his lungs towards the dark, swirling sea: "Where did you sea monsters come from, daring to block the great sea monsters of our Three Seas Society? This ship is blessed by the Dragon King, get out of here at once!"

A deep, rumbling voice rose from the water, like muffled thunder rolling across the sky: "Ha—if the Dragon King were here in person, we might have some fear. But what is there to fear about a blessed ship?"

Feng Ge, a bony fish, emerged halfway out of the sea. That half-body alone was almost as long as a large loach.

It looked down at the large ship from its high position, like a tiger watching a rabbit run past it.

"We're just a few people passing by," it said, its tone casual and nonchalant, "coming here for a drink. What, you three seas don't welcome us?"

As it spoke, an octopus, a lobster, a crab, and a red snapper that hadn't said much all emerged from the sea.

Several sea monsters surrounded the giant loach, like a pack of hungry wolves surrounding a fat sheep.

Inside the cabin, Qi Fei, caught up in the story, was recounting fantastical tales of the South China Sea.

As Naruto and his group encountered the legendary "Sea King" in the ocean, suddenly a giant crab emerged from the sea.

The crab was so big that Qi Fei could see its head, huge eyes, and pincers just through the window.

He was slightly taken aback.

No, there are sea kings in this world too?

But he soon realized that they had encountered a sea monster.

The others on the viewing platform also saw it.

Some people took a few steps back, their faces pale and their lips trembling, as if they were ready to run away at any moment.

Some people, however, took a few steps forward, craning their necks to look outside, their eyes gleaming with excitement.

What are you afraid of?

Sea monsters are indeed terrifying, but they are cultivators!

No one listened to Qi Fei's storytelling, but Qi Fei didn't care. He and Wu Mengsheng went to the viewing platform to watch the giant sea monsters.

There weren't many people on the viewing platform.

Some people assessed the difference in strength between themselves and the sea monster, and then made a very rational decision.

Even when adrift at sea, one should still follow their heart.

They retreated back into the cabin.

Those who remained on the viewing platform were either bold or had some confidence.

The gale-force winds and torrential rain lashed at the viewing platform, but the wind and rain were blocked by an invisible barrier three feet away from the platform.

That was a magic array on the ship. The wind was howling and the rain was pouring outside, but there wasn't a breath of wind inside the viewing platform.

Wu Mengsheng stood next to Qi Fei, facing the sea.

He was blind, but his cultivation method was special. He relied on the subtle vibrations in all things to perceive the world, and thus saw more clearly than with the naked eye.

The naked eye can deceive you, but vibrations cannot.

Vibration is vibration; it is the most essential, unadorned, and authentic state of things.

"The monsters of the deep sea," he said, with a calm and knowledgeable tone, "are just bluffing."

Qi Fei glanced at him, then looked out the window at the lobster that was still waving its huge claws. The lobster's claws were as big as city gates, and could pinch a boat in two.

"Bluster?" he asked.

"It looks big," Wu Mengsheng said, "but it's not strong."

Qi Fei looked at the sea again. Half of the bony fish, Brother Feng, was above the water. It was about the same length as a large loach, but it just swayed there. It didn't rush over, didn't collide with the boat, and didn't even create any big waves.

It simply made a huge noise and exchanged harsh words with the people on the ship.

That was exactly like when Qi Fei and the Zhou family caravan encountered bandits who robbed them on the road.

It seems that both business on land and business at sea are essentially risk-free.

"How do you think the Three Seas Association will handle this?" Qi Fei asked.

Wu Mengsheng said, "They'll probably try to smooth things over. That's just how chambers of commerce are."

Before he finished speaking, a strange light suddenly emanated from the hull of the giant loach's boat.

The light was golden, spreading from the bow to the stern, from the bottom of the ship to the top of the mast.

Wherever the light reached, the dark clouds dispersed, the gale stopped, the downpour ceased, and the sea surface was as smooth as if it had been wiped flat by hand, without even a ripple.

This is a blessing from the Dragon King, allowing the sea loach to forever sail in calm and tranquil waters.

As for the cost of the blessing—it's an astronomical figure for an individual, but for someone from the Three Seas Association, it's barely acceptable.

At this moment, the sounds from Brother Feng the Bonefish and the boat disappeared—not disappeared, but rather they continued to transmit their voices to each other.

Finally, the captain pulled a package from his pocket and threw it out.

The package traced an arc in the air before Feng swallowed it whole. He then turned around and, along with the octopus, lobster, crab, and red snapper, dived underwater.

The enormous figure quickly disappeared into the sea.

The commotion subsided, and the people on the ship went about their business.

If they can't even handle this little problem, then the Three Seas Society shouldn't be sailing on the South China Sea.
