Huayu: Rising from Tencent

Chapter 42 Shen Ci's Happy Life

Han Zijie was not in control of his own destiny; he didn't want things to be this way, but how could he possibly decide?

"President Su, to tell you the truth," Han Zijie said with a troubled expression, "the project was rejected because of President Shen's decision."

Su Jiangyu looked puzzled and asked, "President Shen?"

"President Shen is in charge of all matters related to self-produced dramas. The approval of 'The Perfect Bride' requires his signature."

"Mr. Han, you can't even handle Mr. Shen?"

Su Jiangyu really couldn't understand the internal structure of Tencent Video. How could "The Perfect Bride" be considered a self-produced drama?

Upon hearing this, Han Zijie almost rolled his eyes. This Su Jiangyu really overestimated him.

Shen Ci had previously expressed his support for him taking charge of the still-planned Tencent Pictures, and he was too grateful to even think about it!

Seeing that Han Zijie remained silent, Su Yujiang turned to Jin Shijia and Li Lin and instructed them, "You two should toast President Han."

Jin Shijia, on the other hand, seemed quite enthusiastic. He picked up the wine bottle, filled his glass, and said, "President Han, I'd like to toast you."

Li Lin had no choice but to raise his full glass of wine: "I toast to President Han."

"You're too kind, you're too kind."

Han Zijie smiled and clinked glasses with the two men.

After finishing his drink, Li Lin continued eating, trying to alleviate the effects of the alcohol.

"Mr. Han, please put in a good word for me~" Su Jiangyu said, holding a wine glass and gently nudging Han Zijie with her arm.

Han Zijie looked at Su Jiangyu. Although the executive producer was past her prime, she still had a dignified appearance.

"President Su, I have a suggestion for you. You could try to arrange a meeting with our General Manager Shen," Han Zijie said, pointing out a possible route.

"What does that Mr. Shen like?" Su Jiangyu didn't want to give up; the thought of losing so much money made her anxious.

Han Zijie was about to speak when he hesitated. After a moment of thought, his gaze unconsciously shifted to Li Qin.

Su Jiangyu also looked at Li Lin.

Li Qin felt a chill run down her spine, and the chopsticks in her hand froze in mid-air before she could even bring them to her mouth.

She was inwardly groaning, "No way!"

Could it be what she meant?

She had just been curious about the CEO Shen that Han Zijie had mentioned, who was not yet twenty, yet had such an impressive background at such a young age...

This is the result?

Li Lin didn't want to have to sleep with someone because of this!

Although Shen Ci did not appear at the dinner party, the conversation among the guests revolved around him every few sentences, which was rather peculiar.

Meanwhile, Shen Ci was thousands of miles away, attending a dinner party meticulously arranged by MBC.

Just as Shen Ci had predicted, all the dishes in Han Jeongsik were served on small plates.

They have everything: soy-marinated crab, kimchi, fried fish, and soybean paste soup.

The key issue was that the dining table was a low table with no chairs, so Shen Ci had to sit cross-legged on the tatami for the entire meal.

"Shen Ci-xi, I wish us a pleasant collaboration!!"

Park Chan, sent by MBC to make contact, was holding a wine glass.

"Happy collaboration!"

Being in a foreign country, Shen Ci naturally couldn't lose face, so he responded politely and then drank the wine in his bowl in one gulp.

The alcohol content wasn't high, and it had a sweet, rice-wine-like taste, which he could accept.

The woman kneeling beside Shen Ci saw that his bowl of wine was empty, so she reached out and refilled it for him.

Shen Ci noticed the commotion and glanced at the woman.

The woman felt his gaze, slowly raised her head, met Shen Ci's eyes, and forced a slightly stiff smile.

It's easy to see that she was unwilling to participate in this dinner.

Shen Ci recognized the woman accompanying him; she wasn't a member of some third or fourth-tier girl group, but rather Park So-yeon from T-ara.

Shen Ci was fairly familiar with the girl group T-ara.

I recall that the group was signed by Principal Wang in the past two years and made a fortune in the country.

"Zhaoyan, take good care of Shen Cixi!!"

Seeing Park So-yeon's unwilling expression, Park Chan was furious, feeling that the woman was utterly shameful.

This is a complete disgrace to the Republic of Korea!!

"Yes~" Upon hearing this, Park So-yeon immediately adjusted her expression, trying her best to appear gentle.

Shen Ci found it amusing; Park So-yeon had a round face and a delicate, small nose.

But his cold face gave people a stubborn and aloof feeling.

This expression ignited Shen Ci's desire to conquer.

He thought to himself that he would see if the woman could maintain this expression later.

"Shen Ci, the contract is ready. Would you like to sign it here now?"

Park Chan instructed his subordinates to hand the contract to Shen Ci.

Shen Ci had heard from Sun Yalou yesterday that the contract was ready, so he nodded and replied, "No problem."

Sun Yalou was also present. Upon hearing this, he immediately came to Shen Ci's side and handed her a pen.

The contract had been carefully reviewed by a lawyer beforehand, so Shen Ci signed it without any difficulty.

After signing the contract, Park Chan enthusiastically raised his glass, and Shen Ci politely clinked glasses with him from a distance.

"Representative Park, please keep a close eye on the behind-the-scenes team," Shen Ci said earnestly.

The translator quickly relayed these words to Park Chan in Korean.

Upon hearing this, Park Chan quickly nodded and replied, "No problem!"

For MBC, "Infinite Challenge" was just the beginning of their collaboration with Tencent Video.

They believe there will be many more opportunities for future cooperation.

Therefore, they went to great lengths to maintain appearances in this collaboration, which is why they arranged for Park So-yeon to accompany them.

After signing the contract, there wasn't much to talk about. All the polite pleasantries had already been said at the beginning of the meal.

The dinner party then came to an end. Park Chan and his group saw Shen Ci off to his car, and Park So-yeon also got into the car.

Sun Yalou was driving; he could also act as a translator.

Shen Ci disliked having other people present in such situations, so he remained silent in the car.

This left Sun Yalou, who was eager to please Shen Ci, at a loss, but he was prepared.

Upon arriving at the hotel, Sun Yalou handed Shen Ci a translator, saying, "This is the latest model; it works exceptionally well."

"Thank you for your thoughtfulness." Shen Ci looked at the translator in his hand and thought to himself that Sun Yalou was someone who could improve!

"Of course, of course." Sun Yalou glanced at Park So-yeon, then said, "I'll be going now."

Shen Ci nodded, turned on the translator, and naturally put his arm around Park So-yeon's waist, leading her into the hotel.

"How's your English?" Shen Ci asked into the translator and handed it to Park So-yeon.

Park So-yeon stiffened instantly when Shen Ci embraced her, but she still spoke into the translator:

"Mianne, you're not very good at talking."

Shen Ci rolled her eyes inwardly, thinking that this was what it meant to not know English.

They can't even communicate properly, so how can they talk about developing their careers in China? They don't even know how to learn Chinese.

The two entered the room, and Shen Ci first went to the window and slowly drew the curtains, making the room a little darker.

He turned to look at Park So-yeon and walked towards her.

Park So-yeon subconsciously took a half step back.

"Nervous?" Shen Ci picked up the translator and asked.

Park So-yeon did not respond, but simply looked at Shen Ci.

Seeing that she was silent like a taciturn person, Shen Ci didn't want to waste any more words and decided to get straight to the point.

He reached out and touched Park So-yeon's hair near her ear. Park So-yeon tilted her head slightly but didn't pull away.

Shen Ci placed his palm on her cheek and wrapped his other arm around her waist, pulling her into his embrace.

Park Soyeon instinctively placed her hands against her chest, pushing him away with some force, while saying, "Let's go take a shower first."

Shen Ci didn't make things difficult for her. He nodded, released his hand from her waist, and said, "Together."

Park So-yeon hesitated for a moment, then nodded very slightly.

As the two entered the bathroom, Shen Ci noticed that Park So-yeon's thighs were very firm, with clearly visible muscle lines.

Shen Ci reached out and pinched the outside of her thigh like a groping pig's trotter. Park So-yeon trembled, but did not dodge.

After taking a shower, Park So-yeon walked to the foot of the bed, bent down, and rummaged through her bag to find something, which she held tightly in her hand.

Shen Ci leaned against the headboard, when a different idea suddenly popped into his head. He picked up the translator and said, "Let's dance."

Park So-yeon held the small square in her hand, remained silent for a moment, and then placed it on the bedside table.

She picked up her phone, scrolled through it for a while, and then clicked on a song. The intro started, and it was her team's "Roly Poly".

Park So-yeon stood on the empty space at the foot of the bed and began to dance.

This experience was incredibly new to Shen Ci, and he watched Park So-yeon dance with great interest.

After jumping for more than two minutes, Shen Ci felt he couldn't hold back any longer, so he raised his hand and waved to Park So-yeon.

Park So-yeon stopped what she was doing, panting, and walked closer to the bedside.

Shen Ci grabbed her wrist, and what happened next was inevitable.

Shen Ci felt that he was "winning glory for the country"!

Park So-yeon's reaction was different from what he had experienced before; instead of speaking Chinese, she uttered a string of Korean.

"Hajma"

"So tragic!"

"Apa"

"Nomkip, please"...
