Card Making: My Card Game Starts with the White Dragon
Chapter 36 Legion Card Emergency Tutorial
Zhou Hao did not share his conjecture with Principal Zhu, because it involved his secret as a time traveler.
To Principal Zhu and his team, those unfamiliar material cards were nothing more than a new species of sea monster in a new secret realm; they had research value, but were not particularly rare.
It's worth mentioning the packaging of the scene asset cards, which differs from that of ordinary asset cards.
The card maker needs to find something called the "Nest Core" and then encapsulate it using blank cards.
The higher the quality of the nest core, the better the scene material card that is packaged into it.
According to Principal Zhu, the two nest cores that Zhou Hao acquired this time are of very high quality, and the scene material cards packaged into them are also among the best in their class.
"Xiao Zhou, what are your plans for dealing with these resource cards?"
Principal Zhu stepped forward to inquire, and his eyes twitched slightly as he looked at the thick stack of material cards in Zhou Hao's hand.
The Card Masters Association and the school knew that there were boxing shrimp monsters in this area, but they did not know that there was a boxing shrimp monster's nest at the bottom of this cliff.
As for the stone crabs, the descendants of the sea monster, and ordinary kappa people, they were completely unprepared.
No one could have imagined that such a huge change would occur here after the surveillance system had been broken for only a day or two.
Fortunately, Zhou Hao managed to defeat these sea monsters on his own and even created two powerful scene material cards.
Principal Zhu knew this was a rare opportunity and worried that Zhou Hao lacked experience in card production and might take the wrong path.
I wanted to offer some guidance and help this promising talent take a more stable path.
Looking at the thick stack of cards in his hand, Zhou Hao understood the principal's underlying meaning:
"The students don't know how to handle this either, and they would like to hear Teacher Zhu's opinion on these matters."
Principal Zhu was greatly pleased; it was so comfortable talking to intelligent people.
Principal Zhu said, "Your purple 'Gourd Garden of Roaring Monsters' card was probably reserved for your 'Gourd Brothers' card, right?"
Zhou Hao nodded; the connection between the two was obvious to anyone with eyes to see.
Principal Zhu, with the demeanor of a kind old grandfather, continued:
"If you want to build a field card that suits you now, you can't use [Gourd Garden of Roars]."
Between the [Abyssal Shrimp Nest] and the [Mysterious Mountain Crab Den], which do you plan to use as the main ingredient and which as the secondary ingredient?
Zhou Hao didn't actually want to use any of them. From the moment he created Ao Lie, he had already decided on the appropriate [Field Card] for Ao Lie.
Although the [Abyssal Shrimp Nest] and [Mysterious Mountain Crab Den] are of good quality, they are not enough for Zhou Hao.
Seeing Zhou Hao's expression, Principal Zhu felt even more relieved: "It seems the old man worried for nothing. It's good that you understand."
These two material cards are excellent as supplementary materials in a field card set.
But using you as the main ingredient would be a waste of your talent.
Zhou Hao nodded and thanked him, saying, "Thank you for your guidance, Principal Zhu. I understand."
I will keep four: [Invincible Shrimp], [Taro of Aoshan], [Shrimp Nest in the Deep Sea], and [Crab Den in the Mysterious Mountain].
I plan to sell the rest to the logistics department to exchange for some useful materials to make new cards and enhance combat power.
Zhou Hao knows that the future is important, but the present is even more important.
In this world, no one can predict whether an accident or tomorrow will come first.
He didn't want to hoard a bunch of high-level materials for the future, only to die at the hands of some monster in the end.
Principal Zhu nodded approvingly: "That's right, we do need to strengthen our combat capabilities, but regarding strengthening combat capabilities..."
Old man, I have a rather risky plan. I don't know if you dare to try it.
Upon hearing this, Zhou Hao became interested: "I am willing to listen to Teacher Zhu's teachings."
Principal Zhu, however, pulled out his phone and shouted at the top of his lungs to Old Yu behind him:
"Commander Yu, come over here and share your experience in making [Legion Cards] with your juniors."
Upon hearing this, Lao Yu said, "Teacher, who in the whole city can compare to your teaching?" but his legs moved faster than anyone else's.
Zhou Hao heard a "beep" and saw that Principal Zhu had sent him a face-to-face quick pass.
After clicking "Agree," a folder titled "[Legion Card and Skill Card Spiritual Path]" appeared on Zhou Hao's phone.
Principal Zhu turned off his phone and said, "You called me teacher, so I can't let you call me that for nothing."
The creation of these "Legion Cards" was originally part of your final stage of military training, at which point some people were already eliminated.
Teaching you now might be a little unfair to the other students, but you were the one who conquered those two monster lairs, so I'll teach you first.
"Thank you, Teacher Zhu."
Zhou Hao couldn't wait to open the folder to study it and start practicing in his mind.
He had been craving skill cards for a long time, but he had never heard of legion cards before.
After Zhou Hao practiced the mental loop for half an hour, although he was not yet proficient, he could roughly outline it.
At this point, Commander Yu, seeing that Zhou Hao was ready, officially began his instruction:
"It's not appropriate for someone my age to call you 'junior,' so let's just call you Xiao Zhou. Time is precious, so let's get straight to the point, Xiao Zhou."
The crafting process for Legion Cards is not much different from that of Summoning Cards; the difference is that Legion Cards use more material cards.
The total amount of mental energy required is much higher than that of summoning cards. The card-making time is also longer than that of summoning cards.
However, it has one more advantage than summon cards: it requires less story content to be included.
After all, many Legion Card members have the same backstory; they can even just change their names.
Commander Yu was clearly not good at teaching; after only a few words, he stroked his bald head and anxiously muttered, "What else, what else..."
"Oh, right!! Do you know how to use those two special material cards? Having them makes things much simpler!!"
Zhou Hao shook his head; he had never even heard of any special material cards.
Old Yu slapped his bald head and muttered, "I forgot you haven't learned it yet. You can understand it that way."
Special material cards are the genius monsters born in each monster's lair.
They are born with higher spirituality and potential, and may even possess extraordinary skills.
Once they become material cards, they naturally come with their own story.
You can use those two special materials as a blueprint to extend to all legion members.
Moreover, those two special materials naturally make the best legion commanders; having them will save you a lot of trouble.
Zhou Hao roughly understood; it meant that summoning cards were high-end original creations that required meticulous crafting.
Legion cards, on the other hand, involve adding a suitable backstory and then reskinning and copying a bunch of cards.
Special material cards are like templates; can they reduce the difficulty?
"It sounds like the biggest challenge with Legion Cards is the high requirement for total mental energy; in other aspects, they're much simpler than Summoning Cards."
Thinking this through, Zhou Hao decided to be on the safe side and asked, "Commander Yu, how much more mental energy does a Legion Card consume compared to a Summoning Card of the same tier?"
Old Yu replied, "Not much. One legion member is double, two is triple."
And so on, however, a legion card requires at least five members to be formed.
Zhou Hao knew this thing required a high level of mental strength, but he never expected it to be this high:
"So, creating a Legion Card requires at least five times the mental energy of a summon card of the same tier?!"
