Chapter 67 The Power of Laws

In the Dawn Continent, the power of laws is divided into different ranks.

The highest level of law is called the power of existence. It is parallel to or transcends the definition of the world itself and is the fundamental basis for the existence of matter and consciousness.

This includes space, time, eternity, and chaos, among other things.

The next level down is the power of elements, also known as the higher laws. The four elements of earth, water, wind, and fire belong to this level and are the foundation of this world.

Next are the intermediate laws, which can be roughly divided into four categories: fantasy, mystery, nature, and holiness.

Then there are the lower-level laws, which are mostly derived from the highest-level and higher-level laws.

Finally, there are the lowest-level laws, which are generally the manifestation of the organism's own attributes.

The vast majority of peak-level and legendary powerhouses on the Dawn Continent awaken only the lowest and lowest-level laws.

Only a very few races, such as dragons, can awaken at least intermediate-level laws of power.

The four royal families among the dragons are all destined to awaken the highest level of elemental power once they reach the legendary level.

This is precisely the source of the dragon race's confidence in standing above all other races.

Of course, the level of a law does not determine everything.

Higher-level laws simply represent more possibilities; they do not necessarily mean that they can crush lower-level laws.

Even basic principles, when applied correctly, can exert tremendous power.

Not to mention that there is also the concept of restraint between different laws.

Both the Grand Elder and Zhuogu have begun to awaken their own laws.

Among them, Zogu awakened the 'Burning' Law, a secondary law belonging to the power of the fire element.

Although it has a noble origin, unfortunately, the term "secondary" means that it is merely at the level of a lower-level law.

The Elder's "Thorns" Law is similar; it belongs to the secondary law of plants within the laws of nature, and is also a lower-level law.

The power of laws is the highest level of power in this world. Although the Grand Elder and Zogudu are not yet able to fully manifest their own power of laws, freely control it, and unleash its full potential, the power they unleash with every move is already astonishing.

In just a short time, the area where the two fought was already a complete mess.

The ground is cracked like a spider web, with crisscrossing fissures. Scorched black soil rolls outwards, and the rocks at the edges melt and solidify, forming a smooth, mirror-like glassy surface.

The remains of thorns were scattered everywhere, the broken ends charred and curled, the embers still burning and wisps of smoke rising.

No one dared to approach this death zone; everyone kept their distance, fearing they might be affected.

To others, the two powerful individuals were evenly matched and evenly matched.

However, in Anton's view, who was extremely knowledgeable about the power of laws, it was the Grand Elder who was at a disadvantage.

The reason is simple: the Scorching Law completely counters the Thorns Law.

A closer look reveals that the thorns controlled by the Grand Elder were burned to ashes the moment they touched the intense red light surrounding Zhuogu, rendering them utterly incapable of causing any fatal damage.

When the levels of laws are the same and the understanding and control of the power of laws are similar, the restraint of law attributes determines the balance of strength.

Facing Zhuogu, the Grand Elder was not in danger of being defeated in the short term, but he was left with only defense and containment.

The only way to break the deadlock is for our own gold-tier combat power to eliminate the opponent first, and then free up resources to provide support.

Therefore, after wiping out most of the Stoneskin Trolls and confirming that the Allied Forces had completely taken control of the battlefield, Anton did not hesitate to charge towards the nearest Gold-rank Dragon Lizardman.

He needs to first eliminate all the enemy's Gold-tier combatants except for Zogu, and then gather everyone's strength to deal with Zogu.

Just as Anton was about to take action, a terrifying energy surge suddenly erupted from the west.

The fluctuation came without warning, yet it was as violent as a volcanic eruption, sweeping across the entire battlefield with scorching heat waves.

Countless people involuntarily stopped what they were doing and turned to look to the west.

Anton also subconsciously looked over, his gaze suddenly freezing.

On the open ground to the west, Zhuogu's body had undergone an astonishing transformation at some unknown time.

A dazzling red light enveloped his entire body. Wherever the light touched, the scales on his body began to melt and recombine, transforming into a layer of crystal-clear crimson-gold armor that clung tightly to his body, flowing with lava-like patterns.

His vertical pupils completely transformed into two burning flames; the pupils disappeared, leaving only golden-red flames dancing in his eye sockets.

Even his breath carried scorching sparks, leaving a faint red trail in the air with each breath.

The red light that had enveloped him expanded rapidly, transforming from a thin layer into a blazing halo several meters thick, with the temperature soaring to a terrifying, suffocating level.

The soil beneath their feet quickly dried, cracked, turned red, and melted in the high temperature, transforming into a pool of bubbling lava.

"This is......"

Anton's heart sank, and a strong sense of crisis surged into his mind.

The next instant, Zhuo Gu suddenly sprang up, his speed so fast that he left a trail of afterimages in the air, rushing towards the Grand Elder with a wave of heat.

The elder's expression changed drastically, and thorns grew wildly around him, layer upon layer, forming an impenetrable wall of thorns.

However, in front of Zhuogu, the thorn wall that was strong enough to withstand the full force of an ordinary gold-tier attack was as fragile as paper.

The moment Zhuogu's claws tore through the thorns, a scorching wave of air surged in along the claw marks, igniting the thorns from the inside out, and the raging flames engulfed everything.

The wall of thorns collapsed with a roar, turning into a sky full of sparks.

The elder retreated hastily, but was still a step too slow. Zhuogu's sharp claws slashed across his chest, leaving three deep, charred claw marks that revealed the bone. The blood was burned and solidified by the high temperature before it could flow out.

The elder groaned, staggered backward, and his face turned deathly pale.

The situation took a sharp turn for the worse.

The elves on the battlefield paled, and the dwarf elders also changed their expressions.

"Elder!"

"Reinhard!"

Exclamations rose and fell as the Second and Third Elders tried to leave the battlefield to provide support, but this time they found themselves entangled by their respective opponents.

Boom!

A deafening clap of thunder suddenly erupted.

A blinding bolt of lightning tore through the void and struck Zhuogu like a raging torrent.

However, seeing that the situation was not good, Anton decisively abandoned his original goal and made a fierce move, raising his hand to deliver a palm strike.

Zhuogu originally intended to press his advantage, but he sensed the terrifying energy contained in the lightning and had to stop and reach out his claws to grab the lightning.

Crack!

The lightning bolt slammed into the intense light in his palm, instantly unleashing a blinding burst of light.

The two halos intertwined, collided, and annihilated each other, but in the end, the blazing halo prevailed, annihilating the lightning into nothingness.

However, taking advantage of this brief moment, Anton had already rushed to the Grand Elder's side, staring intently at the center of Zhuogu's chest.

There, a palm-sized emblem was embedded in the flesh, as if it were growing out of the body.

The emblem is entirely red gold, shaped like a sun wheel, with twelve sharp thorns protruding from its edge, deeply embedded in the surrounding scales and flesh, like greedy roots drawing nourishment.

At this moment, the emblem was radiating a dazzling golden-red light, like a miniature sun embedded in Zogu's chest.

"Sunshine Emblem."

Anton narrowed his eyes and blurted out.

"Um?"

Zhuogu's eyes blazed with fury as he looked at Anton, a hint of surprise in his voice: "You actually recognize this?"
