Chapter 117: Is he reporting his itinerary to me?
Back at the apartment, Li Luran quickly took a hot shower to dispel the lingering chill.
He changed into his pajamas and comfortably leaned back on the living room sofa. He took out his phone and saw several unread messages.
Kim Tae-yeon: [Lee Lu-ran, did you run into Yoona and Sunny today? Did they cause you any trouble?]
Kim Tae-yeon: [Sun-kyu said you really drove Yoona crazy, is that true? Kkkkk!]
Staring at the string of "Kkkkk", he could almost picture Kim Tae-yeon sending the message.
He was about to type a reply when his stomach suddenly growled in protest.
After spending most of the night out with Yoona, he ate a few pieces of popcorn to fill his stomach.
I was originally hoping for the lavish meal that woman promised, but now I think I'll pass. After the awkwardness of the movie theater and the embrace in the rain, if a man and a woman were to sit together for a late-night snack, my toes would probably be digging into the ground again.
Li Luran got up, opened the refrigerator, and took a look inside. Apart from a few boxes of side dishes given by Kim Tae-yeon's mother, the refrigerator was completely empty, without even a single leaf of green vegetable.
Left with no other choice, he could only boil water and cook a bowl of ramen to make do with this belated dinner.
While waiting for the water to boil, Li Luran took out his phone to reply to Kim Tae-yeon.
Li Luran: [I met them at the coffee shop. They didn't cause me any trouble. Sunnyi and Yoona are both quite funny.]
What you described was just a game to liven things up; don't take it seriously.
Taeyeon's reply popped up just seconds after the message was sent.
Kim Tae-yeon: [That sounds like a lot of fun. Sunny has been talking about it nonstop since she got back. I wish I had gone with them. Sigh, I feel like I missed out on some fun stuff.]
Kim Tae-yeon: [By the way, I heard you were with Ji-eun and Sulli today?]
Upon seeing this last sentence, Li Luran smiled.
Kim Tae-yeon replied to the message way too quickly.
Moreover, that last sentence, seemingly casual, was actually her key point.
Li Luran glanced at the stove; the water in the pot was almost boiling. Since he didn't have a free hand to type, he simply made a voice call.
The phone rang for about half a minute before being answered. Kim Tae-yeon's voice sounded very soft, and there seemed to be a faint echo.
"Hey? Why are you calling all of a sudden?"
Li Luran turned on speakerphone, put the phone aside, and while tearing open the ramen packaging, said, "Taeyeon, are you not available to answer the phone? Should I hang up now, and we can continue chatting via text messages?"
"No, no, I'm available right now!" Kim Tae-yeon was afraid he would hang up, so she hurriedly tried to stop him, her voice unconsciously rising a few decibels.
"It was just—just a little unexpected."
This was, after all, their first call since exchanging contact information. When Li Luran's name popped up on the screen, she thought she was seeing things. But after realizing it, she couldn't help but feel a little smug.
So, under Lee Soon-kyu's gossipy gaze, she secretly slipped out of the bedroom to answer the phone.
"I see. But Taeyeon, it sounds a bit muffled over there, and there's an echo."
"You weren't hiding in the bathroom taking the call, were you?"
"That—haha."
Kim Tae-yeon, caught red-handed, chuckled dryly. "It's all because of that girl Sun-kyu. She kept staring at me, and it wasn't convenient for me to answer in my room."
Li Luran sensed her embarrassment, chuckled, and didn't continue the topic.
"I went to the company this morning to watch Ji-eun rehearse. She has a music show performance tomorrow, and she seemed to be in pretty good shape. This afternoon, she took me to a coffee shop to meet Sulli. You probably know what happened after that."
Kim Tae-yeon listened quietly as he recounted his schedule for the day, when a thought suddenly popped into her mind.
Is he proactively informing me of his itinerary? Does this mean I'm already quite important to him?
"Taeyeon, are you listening?"
"Ah! I'm listening! I'm listening!"
Kim Tae-yeon snapped back to reality. To hide her inner turmoil, she made up an excuse, "A random spam text message just came in. I glanced at it and got distracted. Did you ask me anything?"
"I see." Li Luran didn't press further, but repeated, "I meant, Shirley is also with your company, right? Do you two know each other?"
"Sherry—"
Kim Tae-yeon smiled unconsciously. "Of course I know her. Jinri is my very, very close younger sister. We even shared a dorm room when we were trainees."
At this point, Taeyeon suddenly became alert: "What? Why are you asking so many questions? You didn't just meet Jinri once, and you already have feelings for her, did you?"
You're overthinking it.
Li Luran put the pot lid on, picked up his phone, turned off the speakerphone, and held it to his ear. "I only met her for the first time today, and we didn't even exchange more than a few words."
"This girl seems very lively on the surface, and her smile is very sweet, but I always feel like she's hiding something. Since you're close to her, you could try to show her more care and attention when you have time."
"Oh? Really?" She thought for a moment, "I ran into Zhenli at the company a few days ago. She greeted me just like always, smiling happily. Are you sure you're not mistaken?"
Li Luran pondered for a moment, recalling Shirley's eyes at that time, and finally shook his head: "I trust my intuition. Her state—sigh, maybe I'm just worrying unnecessarily. Anyway, just keep an eye on her."
No sooner had he finished speaking than there was a knock on the door.
Li Luran subconsciously looked towards the door. Could it be Lin Yoona knocking on his apartment door at this hour?
"Um, Taeyeon, someone's knocking on the door. I'll go check it out. Shall I hang up now?"
"Oh, okay." Kim Tae-yeon didn't think much of it, but asked reluctantly, "So, are you going to sleep later?"
Li Luran glanced at the time on his phone; it was already 9:30 PM. "It might be a while; I haven't had dinner yet."
"Huh? It's already 9:30 and you haven't had dinner yet? Go eat quickly, don't starve. Bye~"
Bye-bye~
After hanging up the phone, Li Luran casually placed his phone on the dining table and went to open the door.
As soon as the door opened, standing there was indeed Lim Yoona.
She seemed to have already taken a shower; her hair was still slightly damp, hanging loosely over her shoulders, and she exuded a faint scent of shower gel.
The two looked at each other, and the air suddenly became quiet for a few seconds.
Finally, Li Luran broke the silence first, "Is something the matter?"
Yoona pouted and muttered softly, "Aren't you going to invite me in for a bit?"
"Um, hehe, please come in." Li Luran shifted his body and opened the door completely.
After entering the room, Lim Yoona skillfully took out a pair of pink slippers from the shoe cabinet and put them on, then handed the cup in her hand to Li Luran.
"Here, this is ginger tea that my unnie just made. You got caught in the rain outside, so drink it while it's hot."
Li Luran took the cup, and a rich aroma of ginger candy wafted out.
"Please thank Yoonjin for me."
"By the way, you haven't had dinner yet, have you?" Im Yoona said, following behind him with a hint of guilt, "We agreed..."
I was going to treat you to a big meal, but I got so angry with that jerk tonight that it looks like I won't be able to.
"But you can pay for this meal later. Let me know when you want to eat it, and I promise I won't renege on my debt."
Li Luran took a sip of ginger tea, and a warm current slowly flowed through her body, instantly warming her up considerably.
"Hehe, as the face of Girls' Generation, do you think I'd be afraid of you skipping out on a meal?" Li Luran joked with a smile.
"Have you had dinner yet?"
Yoona touched her stomach and shook her head: "My unnie had dinner at Dad's place today. I'll just grab some snacks when I get back."
"Um—if you don't mind, would you like to stay and have something to eat with me?"
Upon hearing about food, Yoona's eyes lit up immediately: "Really? Won't that be too much trouble for you?"
"It's not troublesome at all." Li Luran put down his mug, turned around and walked towards the kitchen. "It's just a bowl of ramen, what's so troublesome about it?"
"Ramen?"
The smile on Lim Yoona's face gradually disappeared, replaced by a beautiful blush that quickly crept up her cheeks.
