Peninsula: Starting with the nation's first love, the white moonlight

Chapter 24 The Nation's Little Sister Who Protects Her Food

At the end of November, the cold wind howled, and the peninsula officially entered winter.

A private studio on the fifth floor of LOEN Company.

The heating inside was on full blast, and Lee Ji-eun was wearing a turtleneck sweater with her hair in a bun.

She sat in a chair, her upper body leaning on the table, wearing cotton socks. Her two little feet dangled in the air for a couple of moments before she impatiently stepped onto the carpet.

Following the last meeting, the company decided on her future development plan.

The next full-length album will not only solidify the existing fanbase, but also begin to explore the path of a singer-songwriter.

But the ideal is very rich, while the reality is extremely harsh.

The previous mini-album was a huge hit because of "Good Days", which raised public expectations too high.

If the quality of her next album doesn't meet expectations, or is even just mediocre, those lurking haters and unscrupulous media outlets will definitely jump out and label her as a flash in the pan.

The pressure is just too much.

Lee Ji-eun has canceled almost all unnecessary schedules these past few days to focus on her creative work.

However, for a female idol who has never systematically studied music theory, trying to learn it all in isolation is incredibly painful.

However, Lee Ji-eun is a strong-willed person. She doesn't want to disappoint the company, and even more so, she doesn't want to disappoint the person who made the suggestion.

"Ugh..."

Lee Ji-eun scratched her hair in frustration, accidentally kicking a table leg and bursting into tears from the pain.

"Hoo hoo... Calm down, Lee Ji-eun, you can do it!" She encouraged herself as she picked up her pen again.

But after writing just a few words, she became increasingly dissatisfied and tore it off, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it into the trash can.

She pouted, her cheeks puffed out, looking utterly defeated.

I've been sitting in the chair for too long, and my back and waist are starting to ache.

Lee Ji-eun stood up, stretched, and pulled her sweater up slightly, revealing a small section of her fair waist.

She walked to the window. The sky outside was gray and hazy. There were still many fans gathered in front of the company. Even though their cheeks were red from the cold, they kept cheering for her.

Looking back to when she first debuted, the moment she stepped onto the stage, she was greeted not with applause, but with vicious ridicule and insults.

"This woman looks like a pig, how dare she debut as a celebrity?"

"What kind of rubbish are you singing? Get off the stage!"

"This guy's looks are unbecoming of an idol? Does LOEN have no one else to go?"

She sometimes can't help but cry when she thinks about these vicious comments.

But she pulled through!

To pay off her family's debts, to prove she wasn't a failure, and for the fans who had supported her all this time.

"I absolutely, absolutely cannot let you down."

Looking at the fans downstairs, Lee Ji-eun secretly made a vow in her heart.

She suppressed the feeling of defeat she had just experienced.

But inspiration is something that hides from you the more you try to rush it.

She sighed helplessly and decided to take a break; continuing to push herself like this would be a waste of energy.

Lee Ji-eun opened the door to the creative studio, walked down the stairs, and unknowingly arrived at the entrance of the planning department.

It's 2 PM now, and everyone is busy, including Li Luran.

However, standing next to Li Luran at this moment was a woman dressed in a business suit with exquisite makeup.

"Lu Ran, take a look at this marketing plan targeting the Chinese market. I feel the copywriting here is a bit stiff. Could you help me revise it?"

The woman's voice was very sweet, and she even deliberately added a slight consonant.

She bent slightly, a hint of spring light peeking out from her neckline, her whole body almost touching Li Luran's shoulder.

"Senior, I don't think this proposal has a good starting point. The Chinese market prefers a nurturing, character-development persona rather than a perfect, unattainable idol. Delete those two paragraphs and replace them with…"

Li Luran patiently answered his female colleague's questions, speaking politely and earnestly, and displaying great refinement.

She listened and nodded, her eyes practically sparkling with pink stars.

Lee Ji-eun frowned, watching all of this unfold. For some reason, she felt inexplicably irritated.

"What?!"

Her little mouth pouted uncontrollably again, and she started muttering to herself.

Why weren't you this gentle and patient when we were in the recording studio last time? You greet other women with a smile, but only give me a stern lecture with a grumpy face?

And that woman too, who is she trying to impress with that low neckline? So indecent! They're practically touching, doesn't she know what it means to be intimate with someone of the opposite sex?

She gritted her teeth, and a nameless anger suddenly welled up inside her.

Then she went straight for Li Luran's workstation, this time without even pretending.

The people in the office saw Lee Ji-eun walk in and were about to greet her.

But seeing her menacing expression, everyone immediately shut their mouths, lowered their heads and pretended to look at the documents, acting as if they hadn't seen anything.

The girl from the publicity department was listening intently when she suddenly felt a chill run down her spine!

She turned around and saw Lee Ji-eun standing behind her, her gaze coldly fixed on her... and Lee Lu-ran beside her.

"Li Luran".

Lee Ji-eun had her hands in her sweater pockets, her chin slightly raised, and her tone was very stiff.

"Come with me for a moment, I have something to tell you."

The sudden arrival of Li Zhi'en interrupted Li Luran's train of thought. He put down his pen, glanced at the expressionless Zhi'en and the bewildered female colleague beside her, and frowned slightly.

"Knowing Kin"

"I'm talking to this senior colleague from the publicity department about some work-related matters."

"It's about the overseas promotion plan, and it'll be finalized soon."

"Um... I'll come find you after I finish my work here."

As soon as he finished speaking, the office became so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Several employees who had been eavesdropping looked at him as if he were a monster.

This intern is absolutely insane!

A big star came to see you in person, and you actually told this Empress Dowager to go wait in the sidelines while you were explaining some lousy plan to your colleagues?

Where did this stereotypical straight man come from?

Lee Ji-eun's expression was even more interesting; her eyes were practically spitting fire.

Good, very good! Li Luran!

Work is more important than me, right? The beautiful senior in the publicity department is more important than me, right?

The female colleague standing to the side, though not a seasoned professional, was being strongly warned by her woman's intuition that things were dangerous!

Even though Lee Ji-eun didn't say anything, her aura was already making it hard for her to breathe!

"Ah... that..."

Her will to survive exploded at that moment!

She quickly gathered the documents on the table into her arms, took a large step back, and bowed to Li Luran.

"Li, Li Luran! I suddenly remembered, the minister urgently needs to speak with me! I've almost fully understood this plan, thank you so much!"

"I'll treat you to dinner another day! Goodbye!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she ran out like the wind, leaving Li Luran looking completely bewildered.

"She's gone."

Lee Ji-eun watched the fleeing figure, snorted coldly, then turned around and looked down at Lee Lu-ran.

"Now……"

"Have you finished your work?"

"intern!"
