Chapter 101 Ginger Tea

Li Ran glanced at her fidgeting toes and said, "Go change your clothes quickly, or you'll catch a cold."

"Do you need to tell me?"

Lee Ji-eun tugged at the wet hoodie clinging to her body, her face contorted in a frown.

"I feel like I'm stuck to the bone right now."

She had only taken two steps toward the bedroom when she stopped and looked back at Li Ran. "You should go change too."

"Know."

Li Ran nodded.

Lee Ji-eun then put on her slippers and returned to her bedroom.

"Clatter".

The door closed gently.

The only sound in the living room was the sound of rain.

Li Ran looked down at herself.

His situation wasn't much better than Lee Ji-eun's.

Li Ran's trouser legs were completely soaked, and her clothes were cold and clinging to her body, as if they had just been pulled out of the water.

Li Ran draped the towel in her hand over the chair next to her, and then took off her wet shirt.

The clothes were still a bit sticky when they left the skin.

He then wiped his body with a towel.

He hadn't felt anything while he was working in the rain.

But now that he's not working, his attention has returned, and he feels a lot of goosebumps all over his body.

Especially his back, where a gentle breeze made him instinctively hunch his shoulders.

Li Ran picked up her clothes and headed towards the bathroom. She casually threw the wet clothes into the laundry basket and then wrung out the water from her trouser legs.

A small puddle of liquid immediately appeared on the floor.

Li Ran glanced down and sighed, "This rain is pouring down like it's free."

"Damn, it seems like it really is free."

He shook his head and prepared to take a hot shower.

He was too lazy to dawdle, so he quickly washed for a few minutes and then came to the bedside shirtless.

Li Ran sat on the bed, opened her phone's camera, and checked her eyes.

In the video, his eyes were still bloodshot.

But it should be much better than before; at least it doesn't hurt as much anymore.

Meanwhile, Lee Ji-eun returned to her room.

She stood in front of the wardrobe and twisted her cuffs.

"Whoosh!"

She squeezed out a lot of water, which flowed directly onto the ground.

"Ah, sir."

She frowned.

The rain today was really heavy.

She took off her wet hoodie and rubbed her wet hair.

She didn't feel anything while she was helping out outside, but now that she's stopped, she feels sticky all over and extremely uncomfortable.

The two people's feelings about the rain inexplicably overlapped.

Lee Ji-eun clutched the clothes in her hand, and the scene at the door just now inexplicably flashed through her mind:

She stood on tiptoe and blew on Li Ran's eyes.

They were so close that Lee Ji-eun could clearly feel his slight breathing.

Also, where exactly was that guy looking just now?

Thinking of this, Lee Ji-eun pursed her lips.

"Oh my god, really."

She muttered something under her breath.

I don't know if I'm criticizing Li Ran or criticizing myself for recalling this scene.

She shook her head and swept her wet hair back.

Forget it.

I'd better go take a shower first.

Thinking about it any further just feels weird.

Li Ran had already changed her clothes and came out.

He casually threw on a gray short-sleeved shirt and loose sweatpants.

I quickly dried my hair, but it wasn't completely dry; it was still a little damp.

There was no one in the living room.

Lee Ji-eun is probably still taking a shower or changing clothes.

Li Ran glanced at the rain outside the window.

Damn it, it's getting heavier and heavier.

"How the hell is this going to stop? No wonder flights are being canceled."

He muttered something under his breath.

Li Ran thought for a moment and then went into the kitchen.

He took out two pieces of ginger from the corner and bent down to slice them.

He was very skilled at operating the equipment.

Once the ginger slices are added to the pot, they quickly release their flavor through the hot water.

A faint spicy aroma slowly wafted out with the steam.

He threw some more brown sugar in.

He had just stirred it a couple of times when he suddenly heard the sound of slippers stepping on the floor behind him.

"Clatter".

"Clatter".

Li Ran looked back.

Lee Ji-eun has already changed her clothes and come out.

She was wearing loose-fitting loungewear shorts with a light-colored sweatshirt over them, her hair was half-dry and loose, with the ends still a little damp.

She sniffed the air, frowned, and asked, "What's that smell?"

"They're brewing ginger tea now."

Li Ran stirred it with a spoon, "I'm afraid we'll catch a cold after getting rained on."

Lee Ji-eun paused, "Is it bitter?"

Li Ran casually said, "Good medicine tastes bitter, but it's good for the illness. Drink more later."

Lee Ji-eun frowned, her features almost scrunched up.

"I don't like ginger."

"I added brown sugar."

"I don't like it even with brown sugar."

"So you want to catch a cold?"

'

'

Lee Ji-eun choked for a moment.

She stood in the kitchen doorway with her arms crossed, muttering to herself, "Why are you just as long-winded as my mom?"

Li Ran was amused.

"Then you'd better listen to me."

"ah!"

Lee Ji-eun glared at him.

But after glaring, her nose twitched slightly.

The smell in the pot didn't seem as strong as she had imagined.

The sweet brown sugar flavor masks much of the spiciness of the ginger.

The steam rising from the pot contrasted sharply with the chilly downpour outside.

For some reason, she suddenly felt less cold than before.

She glanced at Li Ran.

This guy's hair was still wet; he probably just wiped it off quickly before coming out.

"You should dry your hair first before you start talking about others."

Lee Ji-eun pointed to his hair, "You're more likely to catch a cold like this, aren't you?"

Upon hearing this, Li Ran paused slightly.

He laughed awkwardly, "Isn't it more convenient for me this way? Anyway, my hair is short, so it'll dry in no time."

"cut."

Lee Ji-eun pursed her lips.

Li Ran glanced at her. "How dare you say that to me? Your hair's wet too!"

"At least I dried my hair!"

Lee Ji-eun brushed her hair aside; the ends were still slightly damp. "Your hair looks like you just wiped it with a towel a couple of times and came out."

"More or less."

Li Ran didn't deny it and stirred the ginger tea in the pot.

"It'll be dry in no time anyway."

"I won't say that when you catch a cold."

Lee Ji-eun snorted coldly and turned to walk towards the living room.

A little while later, she came back with a dry towel in her hand.

Li Ran was staring at the ginger tea when she suddenly felt as if something was gently covering her head.

"Um?"

He turned around instinctively.

Lee Ji-eun was standing behind him, holding a towel over his head.

"Lower your head a little."

"what?"

He raised an eyebrow.

"Drying your hair," she said, gesturing with her chin. "You were too lazy to blow-dry it, weren't you?"

Li Ran was slightly taken aback.

He pursed his lips. "I can do it myself."

"Stop talking nonsense."

Lee Ji-eun raised her hand and patted his shoulder. "Hurry up!"

Li Ran glanced down at the pot, then at her.

Finally, he obediently bent down.

Lee Ji-eun ruffled his hair through the towel with considerable force, seemingly with a hint of revenge.

"Be gentle!"

Li Ran's head shook slightly as she was being rubbed.

"Are you using it as a rag?" he complained.

"Wow, your hair is so wet! How am I supposed to dry it if I don't wipe it properly?"

Lee Ji-eun complained, but her hands didn't stop moving.

She took a towel and rubbed it back and forth on Li Ran's head.

"Are you getting revenge for forcing you to drink ginger tea?" Li Ran couldn't help but say.

"Bingo! Congratulations on getting it right! Too bad there's no reward!"
