After waiting for about two minutes, Choi Jin-ri came out of the house.

She was wearing a wide-brimmed black fisherman's hat and a plain black face mask, and was hurriedly putting on a pair of sunglasses.

Her originally smooth long hair was casually tied into a low ponytail, and she was completely covered up, even her neck was well hidden.

"Is this okay?"

She moved closer to Li Ran and spun around in front of her.

Her voice came through the mask, muffled, and tinged with anticipation.

Li Ran looked her up and down, but couldn't bring herself to refuse.

Although he didn't know why he had the right to decide whether or not Choi Jin-ri could leave.

Under her expectant gaze, Li Ran nodded.

A smile bloomed on her face.

Even through the mask, he could still feel her joy.

something unexpected may happen any time.

Just as they were getting ready to set off, a sudden downpour brought the operation to a halt.

"Whoosh whoosh whoosh~"

Lee Ran and Choi Jinri hid under the eaves, quietly watching the raindrops fall from the sky.

Raindrops pattered on the stone pavement in the yard.

Choi Jin-ri took off her sunglasses, looked down at the splashing water on the ground, pulled her fisherman's hat down even lower, and said in a muffled voice, "Why did it suddenly start raining..."

Li Ran glanced at her and could tell that she was quite disappointed.

"There's nothing we can do about it. Jeju Island just has this weird weather, always unpredictable."

Jeju Island is one of the areas with the highest rainfall on the peninsula.

Choi Jin-ri's mood did not improve because of Li Ran's short sentence; she remained somewhat frustrated.

Li Ran pursed her lips and said, "To be honest, I quite like rainy days."

"It feels like God is cleaning the whole world."

"But what I like best is light rain. The sound of light rain is so soothing and helps me fall asleep."

"It's easy to catch a cold in heavy rain, so it's not worth it at all."

Choi Jin-ri blinked and listened quietly to what Li Ran had to say.

"Actually, I quite like rainy days. It's just that today's rain is at the wrong time." She gently bit her lower lip.

"My shopping plans have fallen through."

She even prepared so many things, including sunglasses, a mask, and a hat.

Just then, Xiao Hei appeared out of nowhere, shook off the water, and lay down at Cui Zhenli's feet.

Choi Jin-ri lowered her head and stroked its head, gently scratching its chin with her fingertips, her emotions gradually calming down.

Li Ran scratched her brow. "Do you think tomorrow is the end of the world?"

"Huh?" Choi Jin-ri paused for a moment, then shook her head. "How could that be?"

"If that's the case, then why are you in such a hurry?" He shrugged. "Wouldn't going tomorrow be the same?"

"Besides, didn't you just tell me this? We can totally shop online!"

Choi Jin-ri pursed her lips.

"Are you saying that the experience of personally selecting items in person is different from online shopping?" Li Ran asked, looking at her expression.

"I can always take you there in a few days! My guesthouse is right here, it's not going to run away, is it?"

Choi Jin-ri's mouth was slightly open, as if she didn't know what to say.

Li Ran pulled out her phone, her fingers flying across the screen. "The cat food is grain-free chicken, right? Should I use tofu litter or bentonite litter?"

He had never owned a cat before, so he could only choose from the options on the product page.

"Tofu sand will produce less dust, and Brin's nose is more sensitive." She immediately chimed in when Brin was mentioned, her tone becoming lighter.

"OK." He nodded.

After placing the order, he put his phone back in his pocket.

The two stared at each other for a moment, then fell silent.

"Does the guesthouse have raincoats?" Choi Jin-ri asked, tiptoeing slightly to start a conversation.

"I think so? But most of them are umbrellas." Li Ran thought for a moment, then walked towards the cabinet.

He pulled two raincoats out of the cabinet by the door.

One was pink, and the other was black.

"Which one do you want?" He took it and handed it to her.

She took the pink coat and put it on. "Want to come for a walk in the yard with me?"

Li Ran raised an eyebrow. "Now?"

"Yes, now." She nodded.

Watching Choi Jin-ri disappear into the rain, Li Ran shook her head, put on her raincoat, and followed her.

Raindrops pattered on the raincoat, their presence clearly felt.

The two of them walked around the yard, which should have taken only a few minutes.

Choi Jin-ri, however, walked very slowly.

The rain pattered against the raincoat.

She tilted her head back, and raindrops hit the brim of her hat, scattering and dripping down the brim in a thin line.

She glanced down again and continued walking.

She stepped through the water pooled in the cracks of the stone slabs, and even when the water splashed up and soaked her shoes, she didn't flinch.

Li Ran put her hands in her pockets and followed slowly beside him.

The black raincoat wasn't much better than the pink one; a bit of wind got in through the collar, making him shrink his neck.

As they approached the tomato seedling greenhouse, Choi Jin-ri paused for a moment.

She glanced at the top corner of the steel frame.

Two turtledoves huddled together, their feathers ruffled, forming two small balls. The rain outside was deafening, but they didn't move; they just stayed huddled together.

There are actually two?

That makes sense, otherwise how would they hatch the eggs?

Choi Jin-ri stood there and watched for a while.

One of them turned its head, its bean-sized eyes glanced at her, then turned back, seemingly ignoring her.

"It doesn't really seem like we need to buy it a bird's nest," Li Ran said, glancing at it as well.

"Maybe." Choi Jin-ri pursed her lips.

"Let's buy them. We can let them take turns living together. In case they fight or separate, they'll have a place to live." He gently stroked his chin with his index finger and said.

Choi Jin-ri pursed her lips and looked at him.

"Hehe, just kidding." He chuckled.

The two continued walking forward.

At the end of the stone path was a small open space, usually used for drying things, but there was nothing there now.

Choi Jin-ri stood in the open space for a moment and looked up at the sky.

The leaden-gray clouds hung low, obscuring even the distant sea, shrouded in a misty haze.

The raincoat brim couldn't catch the rain, and a few drops drifted in and hit her face. She blinked.

"I used to record shows," she began, her voice mostly drowned out by the rain, "one episode was about making a bucket list."

"One of them is this: walk around in the rain wearing only a raincoat."

"Really?" Li Ran was standing right behind her.

Although he didn't know why she suddenly brought this up, he still responded enthusiastically, "So, what was it like after you tried it?"

The water in the open space accumulated deeper and deeper, reaching above the soles of the shoes.

Choi Jin-ri looked down at her feet. Raindrops pelted down, and bubbles rose and burst on the water's surface, forming a continuous expanse.

She thought for a moment, then said, "It's pretty ordinary."

Li Ran glanced at her.

"But I really want to do it," she added.

The wind shifted, and the rain lashed out at them from the side, drenching them both.

Choi Jin-ri took half a step to the side of Lee Ran, and the two raincoats rustled together.

Li Ran didn't move, just stood quietly beside her.
