Chapter 86 Delivering Medicine

"You even have abs?" she suddenly said.

Li Ran was slightly taken aback and looked down at her stomach.

"What do you mean?" He wrung out the water from his clothes, then looked up at Lee Ji-eun. "Do I look weak?"

"Not really—" she shook her head.

The main reason is that Li Ran doesn't seem to exercise regularly.

Every day, he either lounges on the sofa or wanders around the yard in slippers.

Who would have thought he had such a great figure under his clothes?

Li Ran patted her stomach. "Isn't it normal to have abs?"

She blinked. "But I don't think I've seen you exercise much during the few days I've stayed at the guesthouse."

"There's a lot you haven't seen!" He raised an eyebrow. "I usually work hard in secret, and then amaze everyone."

"cut."

Lee Ji-eun pursed her lips.

Her gaze lingered on his abs for a moment before falling to the wet ground.

"What should we do?"

Li Ran looked down at the burst water pipe.

"It's probably an old water pipe. I'll see if I can fix it tomorrow, or I'll call a repairman to come and inspect the whole room."

"How about I move you to another room?"

"Forget it," she shook her head. "I'm leaving tomorrow. Moving around is too much trouble."

"Why don't you use the bathroom in the next room today?"

She nodded. "That works too."

"Since it was my fault for not doing a proper job of inspection, I can refund part of the room fee to you first," Li Ran added.

Lee Ji-eun waved her hand, "Forget it. You can keep it, I don't need that little bit of money."

"As long as it doesn't interfere with my shower, it's fine."

He smacked his lips, saying something truly enviable.

Lee Ji-eun shook her wet hair. "I feel like I've just been pulled out of the sea."

"It does look somewhat similar." Li Ran glanced at her and then nodded.

"How dare you say that?" She rolled her eyes.

"I got sprayed with so much flak too."

He shrugged.

"He deserves it." She glanced at him.

Li Ran was, after all, somewhat in the wrong.

He rubbed the tip of his nose with his index finger and said nothing more.

"Where is the key to the room next door?" Lee Ji-eun asked.

"It's in the drawer at the counter, I'll go get it for you." Li Ran said, walking towards the counter.

Lee Ji-eun glanced at the wet floor one last time, then left the bathroom in her damp slippers.

She sat on the bed for a while, and then waited for Li Ran to arrive.

"Look, this key is for the room next door."

She took the key and twirled it around her index finger.

"Go change your clothes first. Don't catch a cold later."

"It can't be that bad," Li Ran patted her chest, "I'm perfectly healthy, how could this be—ah~ achoo~"

He contradicted himself before he could even finish his sentence.

Sensing Lee Ji-eun's teasing gaze, he scratched his eyebrows, trying to appear calm. "It was purely accidental. My nose was just a little itchy."

She shook her head. "You should still be more careful. After all, it's your own health."

"I have a fiery temper, so getting a little water on me is nothing. You should also be careful, lest you turn around and leave right away and suddenly catch a cold."

"Tsk." Lee Ji-eun tilted her head slightly and looked at him.

Li Ran felt somewhat uncomfortable being stared at.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"It's nothing, I'm going to take a shower." She moved her chin.

He realized what was happening, then nodded, "Okay, I'll head out now."

Li Ran returned to her bedroom and prepared to change her clothes.

At first, he didn't feel anything, but as time went on, the wind blew and his damp clothes clung to his body, making him feel chilly.

Li Ran took off her wet clothes and threw them into the laundry basket, then used a towel to wipe her hair and body.

His socks were also wet.

Li Ran sat on the edge of the bed, took off her socks, and casually squeezed them; a few drops of water seeped out from between her fingers.

He threw his socks aside and then washed his hands.

After a while, he pulled a black T-shirt out of the closet and put on a pair of loose gray sweatpants.

After changing his clothes, he felt much refreshed.

The chill from the wet clothes clinging to my body finally disappeared, replaced by the warm touch of the dry fabric.

Li Ran threw the wet clothes she had changed out of into the washing machine and then pressed the start button.

"Gurgle gurgle~"

The washing machine started spinning.

He had just sat down on the edge of the bed when he noticed Xiao Hei wandering around outside the door.

"Woof!"

The door wasn't closed properly to begin with, and Xiao Hei squeezed in by pushing it open with his head.

It first circled around Li Ran, then came closer to smell his scent.

"What are you smelling?"

Li Ran rubbed its head. "I don't have anything to eat."

Little Black flicked its tail and then lay down on the floor.

He got up, closed the door, and then sat back down on the bed.

He glanced at Little Black, whose tongue was lolling out and whose tail was wagging gently.

It just lay there without making a sound, as if it had come over simply to find a different place to sleep.

Li Ran stretched.

"Click~"

He heard the sound of his own cervical spine.

My neck is still too stiff.

Li Ran turned her neck, leaned back, and lay down on the bed.

He scrolled through short videos on his phone for a while, but after less than two minutes, his nose started to itch again.

"Ah~ Ah~ Achoo~"

Li Ran took out a tissue and rubbed her nose.

A sneeze that's barely perceptible is the most unpleasant.

"It shouldn't be a real cold, right?"

As he was muttering to himself, there was a soft knock on the door.

"Knock knock~"

Li Ran looked up. "Who is it? What's wrong?"

His question was somewhat unnecessary.

There are only two people in the guesthouse now. Besides him, there's only Lee Ji-eun left!

"I."

Lee Ji-eun's voice came through the door.

He got up and opened the door.

Lee Ji-eun appears to have already finished showering.

She was wearing a loose set of pajamas, and her hair was still a little damp.

She must have just taken a shower and dried her hair, because her cheeks still had a faint blush from the steam.

"What's wrong?" Li Ran turned to the side.

"I'm bringing you medicine." She raised her hand and waved it.

Li Ran looked down.

She was holding a strip of cold medicine and a glass of warm water.

"You really think I'm going to catch a cold?" He blinked.

"Isn't prevention the problem better?"

Lee Ji-eun rolled her eyes at him. "Besides, who was being stubborn just now, and then sneezing the next second?"

"Would you believe me if I said I was faking it?" Li Ran pursed her lips.

"Come on."

She shoved the water glass into his hand, then poked the medicine strip into his hand, indicating that he should tear it himself.

Li Ran took the pill out of the aluminum foil and swallowed it with warm water.

The warm water slid down his throat.

His body, which had been feeling a bit stiff from the wind, did feel much more comfortable.

The room was silent for a few seconds.

The faint sound of the washing machine spinning could be heard.

Xiao Hei, who had been lying on the floor, slowly stood up when it heard the noise.

It first looked at Lee Ji-eun, then walked over and bent down to smell the scent on her slippers.
