Dior stood patiently at the door with his arms crossed.

He had already observed that this room, converted from an underground wine cellar, had only one exit.

If Selena refuses to open the door, he wouldn't mind setting a fire to smoke her out.

Five minutes later, the rustling sounds inside finally stopped.

Selena peeked half her head out from behind the door, and after confirming that it was Dior, she looked exasperated.

"Long time no see, what's up?"

Dior stood in the doorway, watching her with amusement, his eyes sweeping over her with a meaning that was self-evident.

"My place is too messy and dirty; it's not suitable for a young master like you."

Selena forced a smile, reached out and gripped the door, showing no intention of moving aside.

Let's say it this way.

"I don't mind you, Selena, we're friends."

Dior smiled too, and reached out to grip the wooden door, applying a slight force.

Selena clenched her back teeth together, her smile turning ferocious.

"I still have unwashed underwear inside, so it's not very convenient."

"It's okay, I told you, I don't mind."

Dior's smile took on a threatening tinge, and the chill intensified in his green eyes.

"Open the door, Selena."

"you!"

Selena was getting a little frustrated looking at the blond boy in front of her, who was completely different from when they first met.

Because the first meeting had left such a deep impression on her, she really didn't want to open the door, but in the end, she reluctantly let go and opened it.

"Thank you, beautiful lady."

As soon as Dior entered, he was hit in the face by a mixture of musty and sweaty smells.

His eyes twitched, and he forced himself to refrain from cursing, but his lips still twitched a couple of times.

This damn taste, I, Dio, must.....

Dior thought to himself.

Selena, standing to the side, looked rather listless, since she usually spends her time at night.

At that moment, she twitched her nose and suddenly caught a faint scent.

It's not perfume, but it's lighter and sweeter than perfume, like it has some kind of little hook, luring people closer.

She blinked in confusion, then followed the scent and saw the blond boy.

Is this guy wearing perfume? What brand is it? It smells amazing.

"The place you live in... is very unique," Dio said in a low voice.

Selena's ears suddenly felt a little itchy, like a cat's paw gently scratching her heart.

"Better than a cardboard box."

She replied curtly, but her eyes kept glancing at Dior.

Dior, oblivious to her gaze, was disdainfully pushing aside the clutter on the mattress when he unexpectedly pulled out a Rolex from a pile of socks.

Selena's gaze, however, unconsciously fell on his profile.

The morning light streamed in through the ventilation opening above his head, illuminating his golden hair and making his eyes even more beautiful.

She swallowed hard, shook her head violently, and quickly looked away.

In fact, Dior was also having doubts.

Rolex?

She stuffed a $100,000 watch into her sock?

Dior picked up the watch, weighed it in his hand, and a playful smile appeared on his lips.

Then he turned his head, his emerald-green eyes staring straight at Selena.

"When it comes to stealing, you're the expert among experts."

Dior played with it briefly, then tossed it aside with a hint of disdain, his voice deepening.

"I need you to help me steal something, or you can teach me how to be a thief."

The blond boy looked at her intently with his exceptionally bright eyes.

Selena paused for a moment, biting her lower lip to suppress the inexplicable irritation.

"What is it?" Her tone was softer than expected.

"Something in a laboratory is very dangerous; if you get caught, you'll almost certainly not survive."

Is there no chance of survival?

Selena, who was about to agree, instantly snapped back to reality and shook her head violently like a rattle-drum.

She wanted to say something sarcastic like "Are you crazy?", but the pleasant voice from before was still echoing in her ears, and she couldn't shake it off no matter what she did.

"Uh, what did you spray on yourself?" she asked abruptly.

Dior paused for a moment, then looked down and sniffed his cuffs: "I didn't spray anything. I just came over after taking a shower."

"oh."

Selena looked away, her ears burning slightly.

Damn it, Selena, what's wrong with you!

She kept questioning herself in her mind.

Dio looked at the silent Selena with a strange expression, thinking to himself.

Could it be that there's some undetectable odor on me?

He frowned and sniffed himself, only to smell a pleasant shower gel scent.

"What's wrong with you? Are you going to take this job or not?" Dior asked impatiently.

"Hmm? No, no, no."

Selena snapped out of her daze and shook her head violently.

"I won't answer. Impossible, absolutely impossible."

"Okay, then I'll change my terms."

Dior took a key out of his pocket and waved it in front of her.

"You taught me how to steal, here's this for you."

"A key?"

Dior nodded and twirled the key between his fingers.

Selena's gaze followed it.

"47 Crance Street, East End, my old house. It's a bit run-down, but it has a roof, a door, and windows. It's better than your place."

Selena's gaze was fixed on the key, and she swallowed hard.

"You can stay for free, and I'll cover the utilities. The condition is that you teach me how to steal."

Dio put the key into his palm and tilted his head.

"How is it?"

There were two voices fighting in Selena's head.

One said, "No, that blond kid is dangerous," while the other said, "47 Clancy Street, it's a roofed and enclosed place, free of charge, say yes!"

She bit her lip, her gaze darting back and forth between Dior's face and the keys.

"So...it's just teaching you how to sneak in and steal things?" she asked tentatively.

"He just taught me how to sneak in and steal things."

Selena, recalling the hardships she had endured, took a deep breath and reached for the keys:

"make a deal."

Dior's lips curled into a knowing smile.

With his talent, even if he doesn't perfectly learn Selena's nine years of experience stealing in Gotham, he can at least learn a great deal.

Anyway, the lab at Indian Hill isn't going to grow wings and fly away, so there's no rush.

If all else fails, we can just go after Dr. Hugo; at worst, we can turn against the owl.

"Well then, my teacher Selena."

Dior glanced around the doghouse-like room, then looked at Selena's pilling sweater.

"When will it start?"

"Now."

Selena put the keys into her inner pocket and clapped her hands.

"However, tuition fees are separate."

"What tuition fee?"

"Lunch," Selena said matter-of-factly, pointing to herself. "I'm hungry."

"Okay, let's go then, it's my treat."

Selena suddenly realized that the blond boy in front of her wasn't so bad after all; at least he was quite a gentleman.

The two left the cat's den and went to the streets of the East District.

Dior straddled the Kawasaki motorcycle, inserted the key, and put on his helmet.

"You know that Italian restaurant in the East District, right? See you in twenty minutes."

"Wait!" Selena stood with her hands on her hips, blocking the motorcycle. "Aren't you going to give me a ride?"

Dior looked her up and down, a slight smile playing on his lips. "Excuse me, there's someone in the back seat."

Selena paused for a moment, then peered behind him—it was completely empty, not even a cushion imprint.

"Where is anyone?"

Dior gently patted the back seat, his tone suddenly becoming serious:

"My lucky goddess is sitting in the back seat. If another woman sat there, she would be jealous."

"goodbye."

With the sound of the accelerator, the motorcycle quickly merged into the traffic.

"you!!!"

Selena stomped her foot in anger, watched the motorcycle drive away, took two steps to chase it, and then stopped.

"Really."

She muttered something, gripped the keys tightly in her hand, but the corners of her mouth unconsciously curved into a smile.
