Becoming God starting with the word game in Lord of Mysteries

Chapter 118 Special Mission: "Fallen God Child - Fate Master"

Nanjing University, Student Activity Center.

The three of them entered the club.

Wang Kun spoke up, asking, "Chen Fan, what's the matter that you're in such a hurry to see us?"

"Do you remember the Goddess of Fertility that I mentioned to you last time?" Chen Fan asked.

Li Qianyi narrowed his eyes slightly; they had already reported this to their captain and the others.

The captain should try to get them to stop investigating the "Goddess of Fertility" from another angle.

Why would Chen Fan ask them about this?

That's what he was thinking, but Li Qianyi still calmly asked, "I remember, you already have new leads?"

"That's right." Chen Fan nodded and said, "Currently, some clues indicate that the 'Goddess of Fertility' not only possesses the power to make people pregnant, but also can control natural plants, heal injuries, and prolong life."

"Is this for real?"

Lin Zicheng looked astonished. "Is it really that amazing? You're not kidding us, are you?"

"Of course not." Chen Fan was quite pleased with Lin Zicheng's expression. He smiled and said, "We're planning to investigate the Goddess of Fertility in a few days. Would you like to come along?"

"A few days?"

"It's not certain yet, but it should be at the earliest in three days, and at the latest in five days."

Chen Fan said, "We also need to make some preparations now."

He paused, glanced around, and said in a low voice, "Do you remember what I told you before?"

"The earlier you come into contact with supernatural forces, the easier it is to qualify for the game sooner."

"To be honest, there are only 8 slots available for this survey."

"We have a pretty good relationship after all, and we often play ball together, so I specially reserved these three spots for you guys."

"Is this supernatural power dangerous?" Li Qianyi asked.

"I won't hide it from you," Chen Fan said seriously, "Since it's supernatural power, it's bound to be dangerous."

There is no such thing as a free lunch.

"If you want to gain something, you always have to give something in return."

"You don't have to go if you don't want to, but if you refuse this time, you won't be able to refuse similar events next time."

Chen Fan said, "Otherwise, you will be considered to have failed to fulfill your obligations as a member of the organization, and we have the right to stop your performance-based pay."

Has the decision to investigate been made already?

The Goddess of Fertility is the incarnation of a fallen mother goddess, and the promise of prolonging life is an irresistible temptation for most people.

Li Qianyi was unsure which part of the process went wrong.

However, the plot involving the "Goddess of Fertility" and the "fallen mother goddess" is extremely dangerous.

"I still really want to go."

Li Qianyi feigned hesitation, his face showing worry, and said, "Can we think about it?"

"Okay, but we still need to be cautious." Chen Fan wasn't surprised by the three of them.

After all, he didn't like investigating supernatural events with brainless people.

"However, you'd better give me an answer by the night after tomorrow."

The three of them agreed repeatedly, but after they left the university activity center...

"Holy crap, are they insane?"

Wang Kun looked astonished. "They actually dared to investigate the Goddess of Fertility!"

"Didn't you hear his description of the 'Goddess of Fertility'?"

Lin Zicheng shrugged and said, "To treat injuries and terminal illnesses, and to prolong life."

"Which of those bosses could resist such a temptation?"

"Sometimes, having a partial understanding of occult information is more dangerous than being completely ignorant."

Li Qianyi was also a bit troubled. "They're definitely planning to investigate secretly."

"We need to report this to the captain immediately."

At the same time, the three of them also received a call from Tan Bin.

"Do the three of you have time now?"

On the other end of the phone, Tan Bin's tone was very serious.

"If you have time, come to Sanshui Town."

After watching Li Qianyi and the other two leave, Chen Fan entered the conference room.

Inside the conference room, two men and one woman were staring intently at their phones with serious expressions. After a while, one of the men finally looked up.

Seeing Chen Fan come in, he asked, "How did it go?"

"Currently, a total of 8 people have been contacted, excluding myself. Of them, 4 have agreed to participate, 3 are still considering, and 1 has chosen to withdraw."

"So there are five people now?" the man said thoughtfully. "Alright, let's set off tonight."

"Didn't you say the earliest would be three days later?" Chen Fan was taken aback.

"They gave up the opportunity themselves, so they can't blame anyone else."

"That's settled. Go tell those who have already made up their minds that we'll be ready to leave tonight."

Chen Fan had no choice, after all, he wasn't a player, while the three in front of him were all veteran players, already extraordinary individuals.

He could only obey the other party's order and say, "Okay."

After Chen Fan left, the man said, "So, is everything confirmed?"

"I have received the 'Secret Treasure Scroll of the Goddess of Fertility'."

The woman took out a dark yellow scroll and said, "With this, we can obtain the secret treasure as long as we complete the blessing ceremony of the Goddess of Fertility."

[You have obtained a secret treasure scroll from an unknown goddess who grants children, which drifted from afar.]

[Item Description: The Goddess of Fertility brought a precious treasure from the Lost Paradise, which she hid in a broken part of the Otherworld. Those who are fortunate enough to receive this treasure can take the treasure scroll to find the Goddess of Fertility.]

[Requirements to unlock the scroll: Bring at least 3 unawakened characters and complete the blessing ceremony of the Goddess of Fertility to obtain the Goddess of Fertility's secret treasure.]

"This is a benefit for us."

The man said in a low voice, "The Bureau of Fantasy is being a bit too domineering. We didn't get anything good in the previous 'City of Miracles'."

"They even pressured us because there was a 'Goddess of Fertility' event this time."

"It's alright, the boss agreed on the surface, but he gave us the freedom to do as we please."

"This time, we absolutely cannot leave empty-handed like we did with 'City of Miracles'."

In Sanshui Town, Wang Kun and Lin Zicheng stared in disbelief at the thick fog before them.

Tan Bin stood beside the three, his tone grave, and said, "A little over an hour ago, I lost contact with Xiao Qing and Ji Chu."

"By the time I arrived, the place was already shrouded in fog."

"I prepared to go in and investigate, but found only trees and jungle; the entire Sanshui Village, Hetang Town, and the surrounding area had disappeared from the map."

There wasn't a single living person inside.

"this...

""

Li Qianyi and the other two looked at each other in bewilderment.

"So, simply entering the fog won't allow us to find Sanshui Village and Hetang Town, or their residents?"

"That's right." Tan Bin nodded, somewhat helplessly, "The advantage is that now no one will encounter 'cult members' again after accidentally wandering into 'Sanshui Village' and 'Hetang Town'."

"The downside is that those residents can no longer return to reality."

"I doubt."

Tan Bin took a deep breath. "Could they have accidentally stumbled into that world?"

"My divination results indicate that Xiao Qing and Ji Chu are not currently in any life-threatening danger."

"This is probably related to the 'Five Grains Mom' project."

Li Qianyi frowned, but "Su Mi" had already been severely injured by him, so how could she still have the energy to do these things?

Or perhaps, the "fallen mother goddess" has already provided assistance to it?

Just then, a message popped up on my phone.

[You have triggered the quest: Destroy the Fallen God Child, Siming]
