A Bizarre Adventure That Begins in Jujutsu Kaisen

Chapter 51 A Dream of Paradise - Part 4

After the machine scans the QR code on the mobile phone screen or the paper ticket, the indicator light flashes briefly a few times, and then a simple prompt text appears on the screen:

[You have successfully claimed your prize. Next time slot: 15:10-16:10.]

Note: You cannot apply for the same Fastpass (FP) for the same area twice within two hours.

"I've received it," Theo walked back to Tsukumo Yuki's side and turned the phone screen towards her, "but it'll be a long wait, more than an hour before I can use it."

She leaned closer to look, and the edge of her hat brim gently touched his arm.

Yu Ji nodded, his face showing little disappointment, but rather a calm acceptance of what he had expected.

"Hmm, there's still over an hour, enough time to do something else."

"How about we head towards Thunder Mountain first? If the line isn't too long, we can join it," Theo suggested, gesturing with his chin towards the east side of the castle.

"OK."

They rejoined the crowded throng and headed toward the Tomorrowland area.

The queue time at Giant Thunder Mountain was forty minutes. The two silently joined the queue and moved forward very slowly with the flow of people.

Iron railings divided the crowd into zigzag sections, while overhead industrial fans roared at full speed, trying to dispel the sweltering heat, but the wind blowing down also carried a warm, sun-baked airflow.

Ahead of them was a group of Japanese high school students in matching school uniforms, probably on a school trip.

The girls huddled together, excitedly flipping through the photos they had just taken on their phones, occasionally letting out exclamations or giggles.

The boys loudly discussed a thrilling activity they had just played, their words exaggerated, their gestures varied, and they burst into unrestrained laughter from time to time, brimming with the boundless energy and restlessness of adolescence.

"That sea turtle this morning," Yuki suddenly spoke, her voice low enough for Theo, who was standing right next to her, to hear clearly, "what was its name again?"

"What?" Theo didn't react for a moment.

"It's that slow-moving one in the aquarium," she turned her head, her eyes under the brim of her hat gleaming with a mischievous smile, "the one that looks like you."

Theo paused for two seconds, then seriously corrected, "I didn't say it looked like it."

"You've agreed," Yuki said matter-of-factly. "We agreed that I'm like a little fish, and you're like a sea turtle. So, what's its name?"

"...So what is its name?" Theo threw the question back at the question.

"Hmm..." Yuki tapped his chin with his index finger, as if thinking, "How about we give him a name right here and now? To commemorate it."

"Let's call it 'Bubble' then."

"Bubble? What a great name!"

Just then, the group of high school students in front burst into an even more exaggerated laugh.

One of the boys was laughing so hard he was doubled over. He glanced back at them unintentionally, his gaze lingering on Youji for a second and a half. Then, his observant companion nudged him lightly with his elbow, and he turned away sheepishly.

As a large man with a striking physique and demeanor, Theo was still quite intimidating to ordinary people who couldn't see the curse.

The moment the roller coaster started, accompanied by the clicking sound of precise meshing of mechanical gears and the slight vibration of the track, Theo suddenly felt a tightening in his arm.

Yuki's hand had somehow already grabbed his forearm, her fingertips exerting a slight force, gripping it firmly through the thin fabric.

A howling wind suddenly rushed towards them, so fierce that it was almost impossible to open their eyes, completely blowing away the golden hair that was tied into a ponytail.

Her hair flew up, a few strands playfully brushing against Theo's cheeks and neck, carrying a faint fragrance and the coolness of the wind.

As the roller coaster climbs to its apex along the track and then plunges almost vertically down, the entire carriage erupts in deafening screams and cheers.

The group of high school students in front were shouting particularly loudly, as if they were competing to see who had the biggest lung capacity.

In the intense weightlessness brought on by the rapid descent, the blue sky above, the castle to the side, and the crowd below were all stretched into blurry, rapidly flowing ribbons of color.

Dio clearly heard the unreserved scream of the Ninety-Nine Yuki beside him, just like any ordinary tourist.

When he turned to look at her, he found that she was also looking in his direction.

Their eyes met, and a smile was hidden in their clear, watery eyes, like ripples on the surface, making one feel dazed.

When Yuki got off the roller coaster, his face was a little pale and his steps were slightly unsteady.

They stopped at a vending machine next to the exit passage. Theo inserted coins to buy a bottle of cold mineral water, unscrewed it, and handed it to her.

She took it, tilted her head back and took a sip, her throat moved slightly, and then naturally handed it back.

Theo took it and drank from the bottle she had just used.

Before they knew it, the two of them had gotten used to this intimate act of sharing.

After they came out, they sat for a while on a bench by the roadside, partially shaded by trees.

Yuki looked down at the photos she had just taken on her phone, while Theo unfolded the map again, moving his finger across the routes and marked performance times, studying the upcoming itinerary.

Judging by the time, the park's classic themed parade should be starting soon. If we go after Adventure Park ends, we can catch it.

"Are you hungry?" Theo asked, closing the map.

Yuki raised his head and followed his gaze toward the castle.

There were already long queues outside several themed restaurants, and the air was filled with the sweet aroma of food and candy.

A young father was holding a huge popcorn bucket shaped like Winnie the Pooh, the golden popcorn almost overflowing, and the sweet smell of honey wafted intermittently on the breeze.

"I'm fine, I'm saving room for a big dinner tonight." Yuki rubbed his stomach, then his gaze was drawn to the bucket of popcorn. "But I'm kind of craving that popcorn now."

She pointed her finger precisely in that direction, her eyes shining with the pure, longing light of a child seeing candy in a shop window.

While queuing to buy popcorn, Theo noticed a young couple taking pictures by the flower bed next to him.

The girl stood on the slightly elevated edge of the platform, striking a cute pose, while the boy squatted on the ground, trying to find the best angle with his phone, taking seven or eight photos in a row.

The girl jumped down and went over to take a look, then smiled coquettishly and lightly punched the boy's shoulder with her fist.

Yuki clearly noticed this scene as well.

As Theo handed the Winnie the Pooh popcorn bucket he had just bought to Yuki, he was surprised to hear his own voice ring out, carrying an impulse that even he hadn't anticipated—

"Shall we take one too?"

Yuki turned to look at him, and his eyes under the brim of his hat lit up.

She didn't say "good" or "bad," but simply walked over and stood next to him, carrying the round popcorn bucket.

The two were shoulder to shoulder, arm to arm.

Theo raised his phone and switched to the front-facing camera.

On the screen, two people are crammed into a small viewfinder, with a fairytale castle spires in the distance and cartoon balloons floating in the air in the background.

The shutter clicked, freezing the moment in time.
