Warhammer: My buddy has too many secrets!
Chapter 30 Fearless Little Ingenuity
An elderly man, who even wore dentures, was shouting in front of Lancelot. Lancelot had never seen such an old man with such a strong spirit.
But when Lancelot saw the gleaming combat medals on his chest and the iconic commissar's cap, everything became clear, and Lancelot's previous questions were answered directly.
Never give up.
With this answer in mind, Lancelot visited several more places, only to receive the same response.
"Never give up!"
"Never give up!"
Lancelot finally understood why Primarch Anglora wanted him to visit Nuthria: it was the embodiment of her ideals, and the people on this planet were also the practitioners of her will.
Returning to the palace, Lancelot found it difficult to fall asleep late into the night.
I can indeed rest as I please and enjoy my rare vacation in this chaotic universe... but in Nutheria's environment, doing nothing becomes the biggest awkwardness.
"If I can't sleep, then I won't. After all, this body belongs to Astartes. Let's go and study the latest reward the system gave us."
With that thought in mind, Lancelot got out of bed and asked the servant in charge of taking care of him for a machine room. There, he took out the specially made Dreadnought Armor he had acquired earlier.
A burst of white light appeared, and a seven-meter-tall silver-white steel giant suddenly appeared in front of Lancelot.
Even though Lancelot is now an Astartes, much taller than mortals, he still has to look up at this legendary creation in the face of this steel giant.
"Is this the model?"
Lancelot muttered to himself.
The most iconic feature of this steel giant is the extremely exaggerated giant spherical shoulder armor of this fearless mech, which gives the impression of carrying a mountain.
Such an exaggerated and disproportionate design is solely for the purpose of housing a more powerful force field shield and an outrageous teleportation device.
From the front, it is a walking steel fortress, with a power claw in one hand and a molten cannon in the other. Its massive body is forged from layers of adamantite and ceramic steel, and its interior is composed of countless technologies from the Dark Ages.
Products produced by the system are indeed of the highest quality.
Lancelot looked up at the steel behemoth in front of him.
This thing is...
—Saturn-type Dreadnought.
I never expected the system to give me this!
Lancelot looked at the Dreadnought in front of him. This thing was essentially an ancient walking armor belonging to the Space Marines of the Human Empire. It was said to have been a special protective suit for workers during the Dark Ages.
To put it bluntly, this thing is now a living war coffin.
As you can see, there is no larger cockpit here; the operating platform is just an iron coffin less than a meter long.
Most of the Dauntless pilots are legendary Space Marine veterans who have suffered fatal injuries and are unable to survive in normal circumstances.
The Empire was unwilling to lose such a veteran with such rich combat experience, so they were buried in the Fearless, and their brains were permanently connected to life-sustaining sarcophagi, with their nerves directly connected to the mech control system.
This process allows veterans to live, but at the cost of losing all sense of being alive and freezing their perception at the moment before death.
In the Warhammer universe, death itself is a rare respite for Space Marines, but veterans who enter Dreadnought cannot enjoy this peace.
They will become living fossils of the Legion, forever tormented by that sense of emptiness. In order to prolong your life as much as possible, the apothecary will put you into a deep sleep after consulting with him, and will only wake you up at critical moments when the Legion's survival is at stake.
In doing so, they will lose their sense of time.
Each time you open your eyes, hundreds or even thousands of years may have quietly passed. Under such circumstances, your former comrades-in-arms have either passed away or become fearless.
In this way, all you'll have left in front of you is a group of incredibly inexperienced recruits and an entire battle group that's just waiting to be fed.
Furthermore, as a relic of the chapter, you are not needed in just any war. When you are awakened, it means that the situation of the war has deteriorated drastically, and an enemy has appeared that cannot be dealt with by ordinary means...
Waking up means facing battle; this is the life of a veteran of the fearless mechs.
Given a choice, Space Marines would almost never want to be buried in Dreadnoughts to continue fighting.
Lancelot looked at the Saturn-shaped Dreadnought in front of him and felt a little emotional. But then again, the system gave him a specially made Dreadnought. How was it specially made?
Lancelot looked at the fearless figure before him, his gaze level with the steel behemoth. For some reason, an indescribable feeling arose within him.
How can I describe that feeling? It was just like looking in a mirror.
"Is that so?"
Lancelot looked slightly shocked. He focused his mind and gently raised his right hand. The fearless mech in front of him also moved, raising its powerful claws with a roar!
The panel appeared at that moment, and the special fearless characteristics were revealed to Lancelot at that moment.
……
Specialized Dreadnought Saturn
Originally developed by scientists from the Dark Ages and perfected by Primarch Vulcan, it is now specially made for the Keepers of the Secrets.
Equipped with powered claws and six-barreled thermal cannons. Its core features include soul-binding technology and nano-self-repair technology, allowing it to directly connect with the Guardian's soul and become the Guardian's second body. It can also serve as an extension of the inviolable domain.
……
Directly bound to the soul...
"So, you mean we can keep the main body in the rear and send the Dreadnoughts into battle?!"
Lancelot's first thought was this method, but when he closed his eyes, he had no idea how to connect to the Dreadnought's visual network, and the feeling of being connected to the Dreadnought disappeared.
"No, because this fearless mech is essentially a backup body for me, but my physical body is not dead yet, so my soul is still essentially above my body."
"When it comes to perceiving the external environment, the soul's judgment takes priority over the body's perception, meaning I cannot remotely control this fearless mech!"
"Tsk! Then this thing is pretty useless, isn't it?"
Lancelot opened his eyes, his face immediately showing a hint of disgust as he looked at the fearless mech in front of him and made it jump left and right.
Thump, thump, thump. The ground trembled violently, and even the thick iron plate was slightly dented by the fearless weight of the Saturn-shaped object.
You know what?! The Dreadnought may look like an iron coffin, but it's actually just as agile as a living creature!
Even though the Saturn Dreadnought is the heaviest of all the Dreadnoughts, it can still move around easily. Lancelot then remembered that it was said that the Salamander Dreadnoughts could even use this steel giant to perform a street dance to amuse children!
No wonder some awesome veterans even smashed the Chaos Demon after getting the Dreadnought... its combat performance is just too outstanding.
"It may be awesome, but even if I die, I wouldn't want to go into this iron coffin!"
Lancelot sighed. The situation on the battlefield was changing rapidly, and it was extremely difficult to multitask and control himself and Fearless to fight together.
Ideally, it could be modified so that an artificial intelligence could be inserted, protected by its own inviolable domain. Even Tzeentch's cyber demons in the warp couldn't corrupt the AI's code. Only then could it truly be considered to have a fearless fighting force...
Lancelot thought to himself that if other members of the Empire knew about his idea, he would probably be invited for tea by the Inquisition the next day, since the Empire explicitly prohibited any artificial intelligence.
But as a dark angel, it's not unreasonable for him to have a little secret about artificial intelligence, right?
After all, the mother group did it too. The secrets inside the Dark Angels Rock Fortress, a whole bunch of things are related to AI!
"well?"
Lancelot suddenly had a clever idea: if he really obtained the core of an artificial intelligence in some world, and then installed it into the Dreadnought, converting it into the logic of Warhammer, he might be able to register it as a secret by the Keeper of the Secrets system when he returned!
