Warhammer: My buddy has too many secrets!

Chapter 51 The Judge's Apprentice is Drunk

"Stop! Stop right now! Severine, what are you doing?!"

Judge Declan's aged voice almost roared through the sound array channel.

Even an old lion is still a lion, and the surrounding defense forces still obeyed Judge Declan's words more readily. The soldiers blankly laid down their weapons, but within the sonic array, Severin's cold voice rang out again:

"I am merely exercising the authority granted to me by the God-Emperor, Judge Declan."

"The Weeping Ones have engaged in illegal activities, and the location of their gene seed bank has changed without being recorded. I suspect that the Weeping Ones are harboring ulterior motives on their own ships. Therefore, I will conduct a full-scale armed investigation!"

Judge Severine said this, and Judge Declan felt a chill run down his spine upon hearing it.

At this moment, he wasn't thinking about whether the weeping ones were hiding something; instead, he began to reflect on whether his apprentice's mind had been influenced by the Chaos Demon at some point!

To thoroughly investigate the secrets of an Astartes Chapter?

How many lives do you have to dare do this?!

On the Mother of Tears, the atmosphere instantly became extremely tense when Judge Severine suddenly demanded an armed inspection.

The Astartes Chapter has a great deal of autonomy, but the Inquisition is in no way inferior.

As a judge in the Inquisition, she truly has the right to identify heretics, Chaos corruption, genetic depravity, psionic contamination, and even to execute Space Marines on the spot.

The power granted to the Inquisitors by the Empire is so vast that once a verdict is made, only a higher-ranking Inquisitor can overturn it. In theory, even Primarchs, Chapter Masters, and High Lords of Terra have no authority to grant pardons…

Of course, this is only in theory. In the end, judges are just mortals, and in this chaotic universe, mortal lives are the cheapest.

"I think this judge is drunk. What's wrong with him? How dare he forcibly probe the secrets of an Astartes Chapter with armed force like this?"

Now, as Hakimi of the First Legion, Lancelot, the dark angel under the Lion, is in a secret room studying the Astartes Codex carefully. He almost laughed out of anger while listening to the conversation on the sound channel.

As a dark angel, I am now extremely sensitive to secrets. Hearing the judge speak like this from the sound channel, all sorts of bizarre assassination methods flashed through my mind.

The glory of the inner ring must not be tarnished!

Only those who bully the Weeping Ones are among the few easy-going children of Saint Jereth. If you encounter those with bad tempers, they'll probably just drink your blood.

Not to mention what if you put it on a space wolf or a dark angel? The next day they'd shoot you seven times in the back and commit suicide, or they'd just rush at your face with an axe and chop your head off.

Lancelot thought this, and while the Weeping Ones weren't quite so extreme, even the Commander of the Malakin Warband frowned upon hearing Inquisitor Severine's words:

"Judge, you have proven the purity of our chapter. As a son of Saint Gerales, I will not allow you to insult and defile our loyalty in this way!"

"I've said it before, loyalty is never judged by words."

Judge Severin looked at the weeping man before her:

"Commander Malakin, you had better give me a reasonable explanation for your concealment."

Upon hearing this, the commander of the Malakin Warband frowned as he looked at the young judge before him.

"It contains a sacred relic that would be of paramount importance to either the Weepers or the Blood Angels. We would not record such a relic among the Thinkers."

"Because it involves the Legion's privacy and honor, please allow me to decline this review."

As Chapter Master Malakin spoke so calmly, Severin's face darkened. She took a small step back, but this step did not signify concession; rather, it indicated her readiness to leave the area quickly and launch a direct attack on the entire chapter.

Some of the mourners in the shadows had already turned their gaze to the equipment they had removed, but just as the atmosphere became tense, another landing ship flew over.

Da da da.

Judge Declan, dragging his aged body and connected to various life support systems, arrived at this place with a dozen servants and a cane. He was also equipped with various physiological monitoring devices.

"Severine!"

The old judge's voice roared from his throat like cold iron; even Severin had never seen her mentor so furious and out of control.

But then she remembered the sordid relationship between her teacher and the demon, and a look of disdain for heresy and evil spirits immediately appeared in the depths of her eyes.

"Inquisitor Declan, do you also believe that the Weeping Legion's actions were without fault?"

Severin said in a sharp tone.

Judge Declan was momentarily stunned as he looked at the student questioning him.

But just as he was about to say something, a massive fleet warped out from the distant warp.

The Forging World sent out the identity verification information, and at an extremely fast speed, an almost authoritative verification receipt was thrown in front of everyone!

Upon learning the identity of that fleet, Judge Declan turned ashen-faced.

At that moment, a voice that could send chills down everyone's spine entered the sound array channel.

"The Holy Blood Angels have come in response to the call of the weeping ones. I am Dante, the commander of the Holy Blood Angels."

"!"

The trouble is big.

Judge's apprentice Severine's face also stiffened slightly for a moment at that moment.

However, a hint of joy appeared on the face of Malakin, the leader of the Weeping Warriors, as he quickly contacted Dante, the leader of the Blood Angels, the mother group, through the sound channel.

"Lord Dante, there has been some misunderstanding between the Lamenters and the Inquisitors. For security reasons, we have not recorded any information about the relics in the Thinkers, but if you come, we may be able to resolve this misunderstanding."

As Malakin spoke, Inquisitor Declan's expression changed slightly, and he breathed a slight sigh of relief. It seemed that he hadn't encountered the kind of warband that would react violently to matters involving legion secrets or honor. If that was the case, then he could still handle it.

"I will come."

Dante's reply was swift. The Commander of the Malakin glanced at Inquisitor Declan, who nodded in acknowledgment, before glaring at Inquisitor Severin, whose expression was constantly shifting.

"Severin, you have acted far too immaturely. I am temporarily suspending your judgeship. You need to reflect on your behavior for the next three months."

"Declan, you'll regret this!"

Severin's expression changed for a moment, becoming extremely ugly.

"Severin, I am the judge!"

Declan snorted coldly, and at his command, the attendant beside him quickly stepped forward and removed the roses from Severine's body.

Even though Severine had made a name for herself in her role as judge, her power was ultimately only nominal; her authority could be stripped away by her mentor with a single word.

The commander of the Malakin campaign witnessed the entire scene, which was clearly a "performance" specifically designed to target him.

By punishing Severine in public, Declan erased the offense Severine had committed in front of the Weeping Ones. The Chapter Master Malakin understood the old man's painstaking efforts; he would rather his student hate him than let her become enemies with the Weeping Ones.

But the Weepers did not hold a grudge against the Imperial trainee judge. In their eyes, the judge was indeed fulfilling her duties, and the Weepers did not want to hide anything unless there were special circumstances.

"Don't worry about it. But since this judge has raised questions, we will take the sacred object out of it, and then you will know everything."

"The commander of the Malakin battle group said proudly."

Having been stripped of her authority as judge, Severin's anger had reached its peak.

Holy relic?

What makes the mourners so certain that a single sacred object can prove their purity?!
