Chapter 14 Professor, I want to make a deal with you.

Akali Lake in Alberta, Canada, presents a desolate and mysterious scene in winter, with its surface covered by a thick layer of ice.

The lake was surrounded by snow-covered landscapes and the Rocky Mountains. Snow was falling from the sky, and a dam stood on the lake. In this remote place, no one would have imagined that there was a base beneath the dam.

It was also a human testing ground.

The base has a network of interconnected passageways, with bright fluorescent lights on the walls of the long metal corridors emitting a cold white glow.

The corridor is lined with closed metal doors, each equipped with an electronic access control system.

This place is filled with all kinds of high-tech equipment, including advanced computer systems, biological experimental instruments, medical equipment and monitoring systems. The walls of the laboratory are covered with screens displaying various data and images.

It also has complete facilities such as hangars and equipment areas.

During the day, the base was bustling with people. Inside the base, there was a separate area used for detention. The walls there were damp, and the metal gates smelled of decaying metal.

Here, rows of closed cells hold all sorts of men and women.

In a nearby pit, there were more than a dozen children, the youngest possibly only a few years old and the oldest no more than fourteen, covered by a fence and manhole cover.

The environment here shows that those who imprison them don't care about them at all.

Everything was in perfect order, but no one knew that a car was parked on the highway far from the lake. It only stayed for a short while before turning around and leaving.

Xavier's Teen Mutant School is located at 1407 Graymalkin Lane, Salem Center, Westchester County, New York.

This historic mansion belongs to the Xavier family and has been passed down for ten generations.

However, the mansion was converted into a school.

Spanning 100 hectares, the school boasts an ancient and dignified appearance; surrounded by forests and lakes, it enjoys a beautiful natural environment and admits only mutant students.

Compared to the tragic experiences of mutants in the outside world, life at the school was like paradise.

In the relatively spacious area in the principal's office, in front of the desk, a bald old man dressed in a suit sat elegantly in a specially made wheelchair, explaining something to seven or eight teenagers in front of him.

The boys and girls listened intently, but suddenly, the old man's deep, gentle voice stopped.

She slightly raised her head, her eyes twitching as if she had sensed something.

He closed the book that was on his lap, then smiled gently at the students and said, "This class is over. We'll continue in the next class."

Goodbye, Professor.

Goodbye, Professor.

The students were very well-behaved. They didn't ask why the class was ending halfway through. Instead, they politely said goodbye to the principal, took their books, and left the principal's office while exchanging notes.

The wheelchair turned, and the professor placed the book on the desk. When he turned around again, he saw a dazzling figure composed of hundreds or thousands of golden particles.

With a handsome face and a tall, upright figure, he wore a dark green air force jacket and jeans.

"Incredible."

The professor's aged face was filled with astonishment.

Such expressiveness was unbelievable even to an old man with decades of experience.

"Professor, I'd like to make a deal with you."

A few minutes later.

"Nutritional supplements?"

After a brief exchange, Professor X was surprised to find that the boy who suddenly appeared and introduced himself as Matthew had come to see him for this reason.

He was somewhat puzzled, but his interest was piqued.

He could tell that the boy in front of him was not a mutant.

The reason is that he is one of the most powerful telepaths in the world, and he can sense the unique brainwaves emitted by other mutants within a certain range.

Matthew doesn't have those brainwaves.

But how did you manage to do that dazzling ability? Superpower?

"So what are your chips?"

Professor X asked with a smile.

He treated Matthew, who was not very old and had no ill intentions, with the kindness of an elder.

But Matthew's next words made his expression change abruptly: "The exact location of a human experimentation base that holds many mutants."

Professor X's previously amiable expression immediately turned serious as he scrutinized the boy before him.

A subtle emotional fluctuation arose within him, but he suddenly sensed that Matthew's terrifying, volcanic aura was also stirring within him.

"This is...!" Professor X's heart was suddenly filled with shock.

"Professor X, it's best not to do that. I don't like people prying into my memories." Matthew's deep brown pupils were tinged with red as he stared directly at the old man in front of him. His overwhelming aura subtly spread out, causing the entire principal's office to tremble slightly.

The office suddenly seemed to have turned into a churning ocean, where anyone caught in it could be torn apart and swallowed up at any moment.

Professor X, with his immense mental strength, steadily withstood this momentum.

However, his mindset had already subtly changed. His attitude towards Matthew was no longer the same as before, which was like an adult looking at a child. Instead, he treated him as an equal.

"I'm so sorry, please forgive my rudeness just now," Professor X said sincerely.

"What you just said really got me a little excited."

"I understand." Matthew remained noncommittal, his imposing aura quietly dissipating, and the previously heavy atmosphere eased.

"I agree to the deal. Hank will develop the nutritional supplements and formulas you need."

Professor X immediately agreed to the deal, even though Beast Hank, one of the parties involved in the deal, wasn't even there.

Matthew didn't dwell on the issue. Instead, he stated his requirements for the nutritional supplements and then readily told Professor X the exact location of the human experimentation base.

"The bottom of Akali Lake in Alberta, Canada?"

Professor X frowned.

As one of the leaders of the mutant faction, Professor X has experienced countless open and covert struggles between humans and mutants, and is naturally aware that there are too many ambitious people among humans.

Some of them were after power, others after wealth, and they all used mutants as experimental subjects.

Because mutants contain things in their underlying genetic code that humans do not understand.

Especially the many powerful mutants that have emerged in recent years, such as Magneto who can manipulate magnetic fields and Professor X who possesses one of the world's strongest mental powers.

There are also dangerous mutants unknown to ordinary people but recorded in secret files, who possess extraordinary powers that ordinary people cannot attain.

Extraordinary power is right before our eyes.

If the secret to breaking through the mutant's underlying genes could be unlocked, it would be possible to mass-produce mutant warriors, and perhaps even grant oneself a longer lifespan, which could be sold for vast wealth and power.

As a result, numerous human experimentation sites were established, and countless mutants died tragically on the operating table, a fact that Professor X was fully aware of.
