Chapter 238 Mephisto almost got his place smashed (Seeking monthly votes)

Standing at Mephisto's level, one can basically see through a part of everything in the universe.

The higher the dimension, the more you will see.

This is the rule of the universe.

To put it simply, the universe is a giant computer network.

Life in the universe is like code within this vast network; countless codes, large and small, make up this network and enable it to function.

0AA is the server developer, architect, and sole owner.

The Living Tribunal is the GM, and the Celestial Group consists of engineers, testers, and auditors—high-level administrators who maintain network balance and order.

Mephisto was one of the computer hackers, neither a big nor a small one, on the internet.

He exists on the network and has certain privileges within it, allowing him to see through the rules and vulnerabilities of code execution.

The higher the level of life, the greater the authority.

Higher privileges make it easier to read and understand code, and even modify it.

Mephisto's ability to alter a person's fate and destiny, and his enthusiasm for making deals and signing contracts with humans, stems from this very reason: he possesses this authority.

Matthew was originally supposed to be a piece of code in this network.

Even if Mephisto couldn't modify the code, he should have been able to understand its underlying logic, but he couldn't.

This violates the rules.

At first, he thought it was the Ancient One's doing, but as Matthew grew up, he realized he was overthinking it.

The problem doesn't lie with the Ancient One, but rather with Matthew himself being an outcast.

Mephisto doesn't have the Time Stone, so unlike the Ancient One, he can't easily see through future timelines and fully understand all the rules governing the vast network of the universe.

But he could vaguely sense it.

Matthew is a bug in the code and should have been removed or altered; otherwise, the universe's network would inevitably malfunction or even collapse.

However, the universe's network continues to operate in an incomprehensible way.

There is no sign of collapse at all.

Mephisto wasn't standing at a high enough height to perceive it, but he wasn't certain.

However, it was this very speculation and uncertainty that was enough to cause Mephisto's attitude toward Matthew to change.

Seeking advantage and avoiding harm is also one of the instincts of demons.

However, despite the change in attitude, Mephisto could still allow himself to grovel before Matthew.

That was entirely due to the uncertainty surrounding Matthew, as well as the Ancient One behind Matthew, who was also on Earth.

But things are completely different in hell.

It is still his own kingdom.

Well, there's nothing wrong with that. After all, even if Matthew broke into his kingdom, Mephisto wouldn't dare to kill him.

It's all because of the Ancient One.

That old woman has an extremely insidious thing: the Time Stone embedded in the Eye of Agamotto.

Even if Mephisto killed Matthew.

This old woman can use the Time Stone to go back in time; this influence on time can completely circumvent the so-called time paradox.

No matter how Matthew dies, he can always rewind to the time when he was alive.

Even Dormammu, as powerful as he is, cannot resist the power of the Time Stone.

Mephisto is even worse.

Mephisto may not dare to kill, but that doesn't mean Matthew can trample on Mephisto's face and dignity in this way.

He ventured into hell alone, and made a grand entrance in such a high-profile manner.

It was tantamount to slapping Mephisto in the face in front of all the demons in the entire Hell dimension.

When Mephisto's projection was killed by Matthew and his son was imprisoned, although it was a shameful thing, it was not enough to shake Mephisto's rule.

This time it really works.

If Matthew doesn't give a sufficient reason, Mephisto will have to retaliate in a tough manner, no matter how unwilling he is, even if it might provoke the Ancient One later.

Mephisto was also puzzled.

What exactly happened to Matthew that caused him to suddenly barge into his own kingdom?

After all, Matthew doesn't meet the standards of the Ancient One.

The Ancient One is in Hell, and she's about equal to him. If Mephisto were to get really angry and use his authority to draw upon the power of Hell, disregarding the Ancient One's Time Stone, Mephisto might not necessarily lose in a real fight.

What makes Matthew so special?

After spending several hours with Matthew, Mephisto realized that he wasn't a brainless person.

This guy's maturity amazed even Mephisto.

He had already assumed that Matthew and he were on the same level, which meant not only strength, but also vision and mindset.

Without a reason, Matthew would never have dared to barge into hell like that.

as predicted.

Matthew spoke up.

The sound, combined with the rolling thunder, reverberated in all directions.

"Mephisto, I did not come here to see you."

He paused for a moment, then continued.

"Lilith, you owe me an explanation."

Lilith?

Mephisto's lips twitched. Good heavens, it really wasn't here to see him, but that Lilith.

He couldn't help but curse Lilith in his heart.

Why provoke this troublesome old sow who loves to have babies all the time?

It made my heart pound.

Is it possible that things could go wrong, leaving both sides unable to back down, and potentially leading to war?

Mephisto's previous attempts to curry favor would all be for naught.

After silently grumbling to himself, Mephisto felt a little relieved.

Matthew's voice wasn't just for himself; it was also for the demons of Hell.

After learning the reason, Mephisto immediately withdrew his power and began to observe from the sidelines.

He also wanted to know what that old sow Lilith had done to anger and provoke Matthew into going to hell alone to settle the score.

Lilith is not actually one of Mephisto's people.

Lilith, as a top-tier demon from ancient times, is one of the high-ranking figures in Hell, but she is not a demon lord.

They are in the tier above high-ranking demons and below demon lords.

While not as powerful as a demon lord, she far surpasses those high-ranking demon lords. To put it bluntly, if Lilith were given tens of thousands more years, she might just grow into the ranks of demon lords.

Besides, one of the reasons Lilith has such a great influence is that she is so fertile.

Codename: Mother of Demons.

It is because of one of her unique abilities, the ability to produce offspring infinitely, in many forms, from herself, from the void, and directly from the souls of those she has harmed.

She likes to go to the human world to give birth when she has nothing to do; sometimes she becomes a man, and sometimes she becomes a woman.

To find offspring of humans with superior genes.

It can be said that there are quite a few people on Earth today who have Lilith's blood in their bodies.

However, most genes are hidden at the bottom layer and have no possibility of being activated.

It is very difficult for high-dimensional life forms to give birth to offspring in this dimension. The gestation period is very long, not to mention that the other half is a human whose genes are too primitive.

Lilith's ability to produce an unlimited number of offspring is closely related to her strength.

With each additional offspring, her power, magic, and physical strength will increase; the more offspring she has, the stronger she will become.

Therefore, Lilith is very keen on having children, and giving birth to children with outstanding innate genetic potential.

That's why Lilith is called the Mother of Demons.

Their numbers are astonishing, and they have even formed a race called Lilin, a demon race exclusive to Lilith.

Their sheer number is enough to be called an army.

Lilith is able to summon her offspring armies to fight across dimensions, and this is what makes her special.
