Martial Arts Secret Realm: Only I Can Know the Plot?
Chapter 84: Flaw
After leaving the Shen residence, Sun Fan did not return to the villa, but went to a small temple in the north of the city.
A middle-aged man is offering incense.
"How did you know I was here?" Hua Tieqian's voice was calm, but a hint of wariness flashed in his eyes.
"Last night, Senior Hua left the inn, walked three blocks north, turned into an alley, changed into these clothes, and then came here," Sun Fan said. "I had someone follow Senior Hua, so I know."
Hua Tieqian's pupils contracted slightly: "You sent someone to follow me?"
"It's not stalking, it's protection." Sun Fan smiled. "Senior Hua is an honored guest. In Jingzhou, I can't let anything happen to him."
Hua Tiegan stared at him for a long time, then suddenly smiled.
"Interesting." He stood up, brushing the dust off his clothes. "What did you want to say to me?"
Sun Fan did not answer immediately. He took out a letter from his pocket and handed it over.
"Please take a look, Senior Flower."
Hua Tiegan took the letter, unfolded it, and read it from beginning to end. His expression changed.
The letter didn't contain any secrets; it was just a list of things Hua Tiegan had done in Jiangnan over the years—the year, the month, the city, the money he received from whom, and the favors he did for whom. Every detail was written down clearly, like a running account.
"Where did you get these?" Hua Tieqian's voice was very low, as if it were being squeezed out of his throat.
"The Shen family," Sun Fan said. "The Shen family has been operating in Jiangnan for decades. It won't be difficult for them to investigate these matters."
Hua Tieqian's fingers trembled slightly on the letter.
"Are you trying to threaten me with this?"
"It's not a threat," Sun Fan shook his head, "it's a reminder."
"What reminder?"
"A reminder to Senior Hua: some things, once done, will leave traces. And once those traces are there, they will be discovered sooner or later."
He looked into Hua Tieqian's eyes: "Senior Hua, what do you think Lu Tianshu would think if this letter appeared on his desk?"
Hua Tieqian's face turned completely pale.
Lu Tianshu is a man who values loyalty above all else and hates betrayal the most. If he were to find out what Hua Tiegan has been doing behind their backs all these years, not only would their brotherhood be over, but he would probably draw his sword on the spot.
"What do you want?" Hua Tieqian's voice was hoarse.
A murderous intent had already been hidden in his eyes.
With no one around, once Sun Fan is dealt with, all problems will be solved.
It seemed that they knew what Hua Tieqian was thinking.
Sun Fan shook his head: "Senior Hua, don't even think about attacking me. A letter was already sent from the Shen residence to the Liu family earlier."
"If anything happens to me, the Shen family will hand over all the backups that have been prepared in advance to the Liu family."
Hua Tiegan fell silent.
The young man read his mind very well.
He had no choice but to ask, "What do you want?"
"I don't want anything," Sun Fan said. "I just want Senior Hua to leave first."
"Where to?"
"Anywhere is fine with me," Sun Fan said. "Yan Gaotian and I will fight, and we'll leave our fates to fate. Senior Hua only needs to leave early if something comes up."
Hua Tiegan stared at him for a long time.
"Aren't you afraid I'll change my mind?"
"Senior Hua wouldn't," Sun Fan said. "Because Senior Hua is a smart person. Smart people know what they should and shouldn't do."
He paused for a moment, then continued, "Furthermore, Senior Hua has one more thing to finish—the Blood Blade Sect is still causing trouble in Jiangnan. Senior Hua is a pillar of the Jiangnan martial arts world, and he cannot afford to have anything happen to him here."
Hua Tiegan remained silent for a long time.
"Okay," he finally said. "I promise you."
Sun Fan bowed and said, "Thank you, Senior Hua."
He turned and walked out, but stopped at the door and said without turning back, "Senior Hua, there's something I'd like to say to you."
"What did you say?"
"What goes around comes around."
After saying that, he strode out.
Hua Tiegan stood under the old locust tree, watching Sun Fan's figure disappear outside the door, the letter in his hand rustling in the wind.
He lowered his head, read the contents of the letter again, then slowly tore it to shreds and threw it on the ground.
The fragments were scattered by the wind, landing in various corners of the yard.
Hua Tiegan stood there, motionless for a very long time.
That afternoon, at the post station.
Yan Gaotian paced back and forth in the room, his face grim.
Hua Tiegan disappeared early in the morning, and no one knew where he had gone. The people he sent out to inquire about the situation returned, and the news they brought back only made him more agitated.
"What did you say? Sun Fan went to see Shen Zhaoyuan this morning?"
"Yes." The subordinate bowed his head. "He stayed at the Shen residence for less than half an hour before leaving. Then he went to a small temple in the north of the city, stayed there for the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, and came out with a very calm expression."
"A small temple? What's he doing at the temple?"
"I don't know. The temple is very small, and there's only one old monk guarding it. I asked the old monk, but he said he didn't know anything."
Yan Gaotian's brows furrowed into a knot.
Sun Fan is a man who never does things the way expected. He went to the small temple, certainly not to burn incense and worship Buddha. So what was he there for?
"Keep an eye on him." Yan Gaotian waved his hand. "Where he went, who he met, what he said—write it all down in detail."
"Yes."
His subordinates withdrew.
Yan Gaotian stood by the window, looking at the sky outside.
He always felt that something was wrong.
Sun Fan agreed to the duel so readily.
A martial artist at the Opening Meridian Realm shouldn't be so quick to accept defeat when facing a Qi Gathering Realm expert.
Unless—he has a trump card up his sleeve.
Yan Gaotian didn't know what Sun Fan's trump card was, but he knew one thing—he couldn't wait any longer.
Three days is too long.
He grew long enough for Sun Fan to do many things.
Yan Gaotian clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white.
"Sun Fan, no matter what tricks you play, you'll be dead in three days."
That night, Hua Tiegan left Jingzhou.
He didn't say goodbye to anyone, nor did he bring any guards. He rode alone on horseback, taking advantage of the night, and went out through the north gate, disappearing into the darkness.
The people at the inn didn't realize he was missing until the next morning.
Yan Gaotian was practicing his martial arts in the courtyard when he heard the news. He paused for a moment, then continued practicing, as if he hadn't heard anything.
But only he knew that a storm was brewing in his heart.
Hua Tiegan is gone.
His greatest support is gone.
He left without saying a word or offering any explanation.
Yan Gaotian didn't know why Hua Tiegan left, but he knew one thing—from now on, he was all alone in Jingzhou.
"High Heaven." A voice came from the courtyard gate.
Yan Gaotian looked up and saw Sun Fan standing at the door, wearing a blue robe and with an ordinary long sword hanging at his waist, his expression calm.
"Senior Hana is gone, did you know?"
Yan Gaotian did not answer.
Yan Gaotian's pupils suddenly contracted.
"Did you do this?"
Sun Fan shook his head: "That's his retribution."
He looked into Yan Gaotian's eyes: "Young Master Yan, your retribution will come tomorrow."
Yan Gaotian's face was ashen, and his fingers clenched so tightly in his sleeves that they cracked.
"Sun Fan, don't be so smug. So what if Hua Tiegan is gone? I can still kill you by myself."
"I know," Sun Fan nodded, "which is why I didn't plan to run away."
He turned around and walked out. When he reached the door, he suddenly stopped and said without turning his head, "Young Master Yan, in tomorrow's duel, I will use my fastest sword strike."
"You'd better be prepared."
After saying that, he strode out.
Yan Gaotian stood in the courtyard, watching Sun Fan's figure disappear outside the door, feeling as if a stone was stuck in his chest.
He suddenly felt as if he had fallen into a trap.
A trap that has been set up for a long time.
And he kept walking into the trap.
