The next day, on the shore of Lolog Lake.

A dozen or so fish-man monsters were scattered about, some patrolling back and forth along the shallows, others perched atop the high rocks, surveying the surroundings. Their patrol routes were not well-organized, and gaps of a few seconds would always appear between their shifts.

In that brief moment, Powder Snow suddenly burst out of the woods. The Xuan Heavy Ruler swept out horizontally, its trajectory close to the ground, yet its force was terrifyingly heavy—several fish-man monsters that had not yet returned to their positions were all sent flying before they could even utter a sound.

Nanaka and Nanami almost simultaneously cut in from both flanks of the group, their figures weaving through the enemy lines and cutting off the monsters that were trying to defend themselves one by one.

The monsters' patrol formation collapsed completely in the blink of an eye.

Alphia stopped a short distance away, and her sonic magic suddenly erupted, pinning the merman monsters that were about to regroup in the back row to the spot. The team pressed forward and wiped out the scattered targets one by one.

Less than two minutes later, the shoreline returned to silence.

Not long after, the water surface suddenly churned.

A taller figure slowly rose from the water and stood on the shallows. It had broad shoulders and a deep, suppressed aura, and its strength was clearly superior to the monsters from before—this must be their leader.

It didn't act immediately, but instead slowly scanned the crowd on the shore from a distance, as if trying to determine who the team's weakness was.

The Loki Familia, lying in ambush in the grass, held their breath slightly. Finn lowered his voice and said, "They're here."

The merman leader let out a low roar. The sound wasn't intense; it was more like a signal of a fixed frequency, steadily spreading towards the center of the lake. Fine ripples spread across the water, concentric circles traveling outwards.

"It's summoning its companions. Deal with it quickly," Alphia made a swift judgment.

The entire Familia of Prometheus pressed forward simultaneously.

But the merman leader did not fight back. It took half a step back and submerged in the water, leaving only its upper body above the surface. Using the entire lake as cover, it targeted the person standing at the very front and spit out water guns continuously.

As soon as Qi Hua took a step forward, three water jets shot out in succession, forcing him back to his original position.

Pink Snow raised the Xuan Heavy Ruler horizontally and thrust it forward, but the enormous impact of the water gun was transmitted through the weapon, causing her tiger's mouth to go numb, and the soil beneath her feet was plowed into two shallow furrows.

The distance was firmly controlled by the merman leader. As long as it didn't leave the water, the group couldn't advance.

Finn seized a fleeting opening and threw his spear at a tricky angle, but Finn instinctively adjusted his position to avoid a fatal blow.

With their surprise attack failing, Loki's Familia had no choice but to join the battle, and the situation quickly turned into a direct assault.

Nanami unleashed several massive hand-blade sword waves. The fish-man leader didn't take them head-on; instead, he sank into the water, simultaneously creating a wave to meet them. The two forces collided head-on, causing a large cloud of mist to explode on the lake's surface. As the mist dissipated, the leader used the momentum of the impact to dissipate the remaining force into the depths and quietly floated back to the surface.

Nanami stared at the turbulent water, her eyes narrowing slightly. She found a new angle, her gaze sweeping over Pink Snow's position, and a judgment formed instantly.

She turned her head to look at Fenxue, and said nothing more: "Use ice."

Pink Snow nodded in agreement.

The moment the leader surfaced again, the two moved simultaneously—

The Xuanzhong Ruler slammed down, causing the water surface to ripple and spread outwards in waves. Large swathes of water were swept up, passing beneath the fish-man leader's feet and tearing away the surrounding water, lifting most of his body above the surface.

Pink Snow unleashed the White Bone Sword Court, a chill spreading abruptly from the point of entry into the water, countless ice swords piercing the surface. At the same time, Nanami channeled the ice-attribute energy from the crystal thorn into her slash, unleashing a wave of icy sword energy that sliced across the surface.

The two forces converged on the water's surface, and the chill instantly spread, freezing a large area of the lake along with the leader's feet. The ice shell suddenly solidified, sealing him firmly in place.

Realizing his retreat was blocked, the merman leader finally raised the trident on his back and leaned forward, preparing to engage in close combat.

Seeing this, Finn and Nanami stepped onto the ice and prepared to engage in a final battle with the fish-man leader.

At that very moment, a tremor came from the depths of the lake.

The ice was torn apart, the cracking sounds echoing throughout. Then came the sound of water breaking, rapidly approaching from the center of the lake—layer after layer, as if some enormous thing was rising.

The first blue crab leaped ashore, then the second, then the tenth. Its claws scraped against the rocks, the scraping sound like knives cutting bone. Crystal sea urchins rolled in, and a giant water serpent slowly raised its head from the shallows, opening its mouth full of sharp teeth. Driving them away were dozens of fish-man monsters swimming on either side of the waves.

At the edge of this monstrous wave, a colossal silhouette is rising slowly from beneath the lake's surface. Its shell is studded with crystal fragments, and the greyish-white lake light refracts and shatters among these fragments, like a drifting glacier beginning to move.

It moved at a leisurely pace, each step causing the surrounding water to surge, the ground to tremble, and even the lake to part on both sides. It approached the crowd directly, its gaze sweeping across the battle lines without pausing for a moment, as if this battlefield was meant to be crushed by it.

Riveria didn't press forward any further, quickly retreating to the center of the group and beginning to chant softly. Almost simultaneously, the others tightened their formation, protecting her at the core and holding off the first wave of attack.

Metria stood on one side of the defensive line, sweeping her longsword to stop the approaching blue crab and the murloc that broke in from the side, thus stabilizing the gap in the line.

Seeing this, Alphia left her original position and began to act alone.

Her gaze swept past the churning horde of monsters, locking onto the massive figure slowly rising from the lake. The crystal turtle stepped onto the shallows, each heavy step sending tremors through the water. If it were allowed to continue its original course, the formation would eventually be torn apart from the front.

The longsword in her hand suddenly rang out, high-pitched and clear. She hadn't deliberately activated it; it was just that at the moment her heart raced, the sword trembled on its own, as if in some kind of response.

She paused slightly.

The continuous sparring over this period has paid off. With a flick of the wrist, the sword wave emerges. The invisible wall between thought and action has vanished.

She has reached the Swordless Realm!

Something in her chest loosened a little, and now it finally settled. She didn't stop to savor the feeling; she simply took a deep breath, channeling that sensation into her sword, transforming it into power.

Two sword waves slashed out in quick succession, cleaving through the crystal sea urchins and giant water snakes blocking its path, before heading straight for the crystal turtle. The first wave struck the side of its shell, and the second followed closely in the same spot. Several cracks immediately appeared in the shell, and blood seeped from the gaps, but the massive body only paused for a moment before continuing its advance.

The defenses are too thick.

She didn't stop; the third wave of sword energy followed immediately, faster and heavier than the first two. This time, the crystal turtle's movements finally faltered. It turned its head, letting out a low growl, its gaze locking onto Alphia.

The diversionary tactic was successful!

Alphia met its gaze for only a moment before turning and creating distance to the flank. The massive figure also shifted away, no longer charging straight at the front line, but being gradually led away from its original direction.

As long as it's dragged away, the battlefield can still hold on.
