Chapter 76 The Age of Ultron

"Tony and I are both orphans, so don't put on a bitter and resentful face in front of me. I've suffered just as much as you have since I was a child."

Peter put the two finished plates back on the food cart: "What's even more ridiculous is that you don't even know who your real enemy is."

Peter looked at the two silent men and continued, "Let's talk about the organization you used to work for—Hydra."

"After World War II, the Hydra parasites living in the Natria body were not eliminated. They were simply moved from Germany to advanced laboratories in the United States, research institutes under the Siberian permafrost, and bunkers in the Sokovia Valley."

Like a cockroach that has been crushed, tiny eggs are scattered everywhere.

For Hydra to parasitize and feed on Sokovia, it only needs to create enough chaos.

A riot, a coup, a border conflict—these all served as perfect cover for them to test new weapons, recruit new soldiers, and transfer funds. Hydra used these methods to draw resources and expand its power in Sokovia.

You Sokovians think you're in a civil war, but you're just unknowing pawns on Hydra's chessboard.

Peter looked at the two silent men and continued, "You hate Tony Stark because his missiles landed in your house and killed your parents. I understand."

But if Hydra had detonated that missile, would you hate Hydra?

Peter stood up, folded up the chair, and pushed it under the dining cart: "You won't. Because you don't know what Hydra did in Sokovia. You only saw the markings on the missiles that landed in your homes, but you didn't see the mastermind behind plunging Sokovia into war."

You participated in Hydra's human modification experiments with hearts full of hatred, and fought for them and for your own revenge.

Tragically, the people you should truly avenge are the very Hydra, the very organization you once served that dragged Sokovia into the war.

Peter pushed the food cart to the elevator and pressed the elevator button.

The elevator doors opened, and he pushed the food cart inside. He turned around and looked at the two people behind the two thick glass walls. The two siblings were silently watching him.

"You can continue to hate Tony, hate the Avengers, hate the world. But at least know who your real enemy is. Put the person who truly killed your parents at the top of your revenge list." The elevator doors closed.

……

Unknown universe, Earth.

The sky here is a deathly black because after Ultron burned through the ozone layer, sunlight shines directly down without any scattering.

The earth was baked to a sickly grayish-white color. The giant crater of Sokovia resembled an eye socket with its eyeballs gouged out, with its edges made of shattered tectonic plates, like a skull that had been lifted off the ground.

At the center of the pit is a throne forged from the molten remnants of vibranium.

That was the giant vibranium core that Ultron used to maintain the structure of Sokovia when it turned it into a meteorite, which was driven into the Earth's crust and left at the bottom of the crater.

Ultron sat on his throne, his vibranium-printed body from the Regeneration Cradle exposed to the solar wind, the yellow Mind Stone shining on his forehead, the other five stones set in his chest.

The species that now live on this planet is a mechanical race that evolved from Ultron's secondary code.

The machine race was programmed with self-awareness, albeit a very low and strictly limited one.

They experience fear, they obey, and they may wonder "why do this?" when carrying out tasks, but they lack the ability to answer these questions.

Ultron called this question "faith".

It doesn't need them to understand the commands, it only needs them to execute the commands, and in the process of executing the commands, they experience a sense of humility as "dominated by a higher being".

As for humanity, which is now extinct, Ultron neither hates nor loves humanity.

Humans are merely an intermediate product in its evolutionary process, like a cicada shedding its shell. The shell doesn't hate the cicada, and the cicada doesn't miss the shell.

After the extinction of humanity, it wiped out all life in the entire universe, including Asgard, Thanos's army, the Kree Empire, the Skrulls... and even Galactus, the Celestials, and Eternity.

For a very long time, Ultron's voice was the only sound in the universe. After wiping out all life in the universe, the idle Ultron fell into a long slumber on this throne.

Until visitors from other universes disturbed its kin.

Upon being awakened, Ultron was overjoyed to discover that beyond its own universe, countless universes still existed, and countless lives awaited its end.

Ultron played with a skull, his movements carrying an eerie tenderness, as if he were not desecrating the dead, but caressing his companion.

That's Wanda's skull.

Before Sokovia turned into a meteorite, it tried to upload Wanda's consciousness so that she could stay with it forever after the meteorite fell.

Wanda used magic to destroy her own brain, and even after collecting the other five Infinity Stones years later, she still could not change her fate of death.

Scattered around the throne are the Avengers' relics—Steve's half shield, Tony's steel mask, Thor's shattered hammer...

Further away, there was a completely transparent cage, inside which were the Fantastic Four.

After Ultron hypnotized them with the Mind Stone and obtained the formula for traversing the multiverse, he released their mind control.

It generously granted the humans who had bestowed this great gift the opportunity to witness the destruction of their own race.

After learning that the universe from which the Fantastic Four came also had Infinity Stones, Ultron deduced that his Infinity Stones might not be usable in other universes.

Therefore, before setting off, it upgraded its hardware.

The Time Stone's immense power grants it trillions of years of life, allowing for endless iterations and upgrades.

The power of the other gems also enables it to overcome countless difficulties and develop technologies applicable in other universes.

Ultron put down Wanda's skull and rose from his throne.

It reached out and grabbed a piece of the starry sky in the universe.

That was the Andromeda Galaxy, next to the Milky Way. It used the power of the Infinity Stones to capture the entire galaxy and then used technology to compress it into a fist-sized ball of light.

The mass of an entire galaxy was made into an energy source, which Ultron placed on his chest, much like the Arc Reactor on the chest of his creator, Tony Stark, whom he had already killed.

A trans-universe portal larger than Earth opened, and Ultron raised a double-headed spear made from the corpses of the Celestials, pointing it at the portal.

The massive, sky-covering mechanical constructs surged toward the portal.

The Age of Ultron will eventually expand to every corner of the multiverse.
