Chapter 95 Odin's Son Never Fights Internally
"Yes, you." Peter pointed to the hammer. "Go try it."
Jarvis stepped out from behind Tony, walked to the table where the hammer was, and placed his vibranium-printed hand on the hammer handle.
The hammer left the table.
Jarvis held the hammer up to his eyes, turned it over to look at the hammerhead, and then looked at the runes on the hammer body.
Then he gently put it back in its place, afraid of damaging the tabletop.
Thor paused again, then took a big gulp of beer: "That doesn't count. Jarvis is a robot, it's normal for it to be able to lift Mjolnir—just like if you put it on an elevator, the elevator can lift Mjolnir upstairs."
Thor nodded firmly: "Yes, that's it."
Odin's sons never fight amongst themselves.
"No, no, no," Tony refuted Thor's statement. "Jarvis isn't a robot; he has a soul."
Tony clapped his hands: "Admit it, Jarvis, the protagonist of Point Break, who inherited my will, has the right to be the one."
Tony turned to Peter, who had been watching the whole thing unfold, and said, "Kid, why don't you give it a try?"
Peter shrugged. "What's the point of trying? You don't even need to guess. Someone as noble as me lifting Mjolnir is a certainty."
Tony made a vomiting motion.
Then Peter walked up to the hammer: "Since that's the case, then let me make you face reality completely."
Peter reached out and picked up Mjolnir, gripped the hammer handle, tossed the hammer up, spun it twice, and caught it again.
Peter put Mjolnir back on the table, spread his hands, and said to Tony, "Let's admit it, there's an insurmountable gap between our moral standards."
Tony pondered for a moment, just about to retort, when Saul spoke up first: "No, no, no, Peter, that's definitely not how it works."
Thor said to Tony, "Hey Tony, you know the story of the sword in the stone, right?"
Upon hearing Thor's words, Tony immediately understood his meaning.
"What Thor meant was that if a person is strong enough, he can hold the hilt of the sword in the stone and lift the stone with the sword stuck in it."
Thor snapped his fingers and smiled knowingly: "Yes, that's exactly what I mean. As the Black Emperor, Peter could lift the entire Asgard Palace with ease, let alone a hammer from Asgard."
Tony looked at Peter with disappointment and said, "Kid, how could you cheat? That's wrong."
After this brief interlude, the banquet continued.
Four teams of chefs from different countries, each specializing in a different cuisine, used top-quality ingredients provided by Tony to continuously serve the guests at the banquet a feast where every bite was worth more than a day's wages for an average American.
This banquet was again non-commercial and non-political in nature, with a very relaxed atmosphere. Moreover, more than half of the attendees were not from the upper echelons of society.
With no concerns about their image, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the buffet-style meal.
Peter and Tony each held a cheeseburger, took a bite of their burgers, and then clinked their glasses.
Tony, holding his glass, pointed with his index finger at the Coke in Peter's hand: "You should switch to whiskey like me, instead of drinking soda like a child."
Peter took a sip of Coke, washing away the lingering hamburger flavor in his mouth.
He said helplessly, "I used to be able to drink a dozen bottles of strong liquor and still get drunk, but now even if you inject high-proof alcohol into my veins, I still won't get drunk. What's the point of drinking this stuff?"
Tony looked thoughtful: "Could it be because alcohol is no longer able to affect the GABAA, NMDA, and other receptors in your body?"
"No," Peter said, as symbiotic tissue appeared on his hand and then receded under his skin, "the effects of the Living Abyss on my body cannot be explained by science."
Peter pointed to his head again: "You have no idea how noisy the voices of trillions of symbiotic beings from across the universe converge in your brain as the center of the Hive Mind."
Peter took a big bite of the hamburger, savoring the taste of the juices from the patty mingling with his saliva in his mouth.
He no longer needs to eat, sleep, or even breathe.
But in order to maintain his humanity, he paid even more attention to his diet and daily routine than before, trying to make his behavior as similar as possible to that of ordinary people.
Once he finishes what he's doing, he plans to explore other universes.
Firstly, the Living Abyss is a concept of a single universe, and it is impossible to leave the original universe with it.
As soon as he leaves this universe, he will immediately fall from the throne of the Black Emperor. As for whether he will immediately become the Black Emperor again after returning, he himself is not sure.
Secondly, Marvel's multiverse system, Disney's vast universe system, and the fact that it encompasses all stories and beings...
Within the non-existent omnipotent universe system, countless treasures await his discovery.
This includes a power system far exceeding that of the Black-Clad Emperor.
Even if Peter later gains higher levels of power, he will still remain on Earth, continuing his work as an ordinary person as Peter Parker.
Although one's actions are completely transparent to many beings, it's always better to keep a low profile and develop stealthily.
In many superhero stories, the protagonist is targeted by a supervillain because he/she is too high-profile.
The kind of power one displays in front of the world will naturally attract villains of a certain caliber to come knocking on their door.
Although he displayed the power of the Black Emperor when he killed Ultron, no one on Earth, except for the Avengers, knew it was him.
In that instant, there were only a handful of beings in the entire universe who turned their gaze toward Peter and were still perceived by him. Peter recognized these beings and determined that they were all background figures who would not cause him any conflict.
As for whether any higher-level beings had ever set their sights on him, Peter was certain that they had.
But it's estimated that he only glanced at it briefly. A multiverse-level big shot wouldn't have the time to pay attention to a single-level black-clad emperor.
In short, those stronger than Peter completely ignore him, those roughly the same strength as Peter are also too lazy to pay him any attention, and as for those weaker than Peter…
Sorry, but the strong are born to bully the weak. If you get bullied, it's because your fists aren't big enough; you just have to suffer it.
Peter only hoped that the villains he would encounter in the future would all be street-level.
He's just a friendly Spider-Man neighbor to New Yorkers; let's hope those multiverse-level villains and major events don't bother him.
If you're looking for someone, go find Tony. He's already started developing cosmic-level lethal weapons that can compete with supervillains from the multiverse.
Peter thought to himself: Tony, you should at least try to be more capable! Doctor Doom, who looks exactly like you, has already started conquering the multiverse, and you're still screwing screws in Avengers Tower?
