Huayu: Reborn in 97, transferring to the Central Academy of Drama's star-studded class

The rest of the story involves the students using their wits and courage to fight over the teacher's bicycle, interspersed with some funny incidents, some real and some exaggerated.

Male students were sweating it out on the basketball court, while female students were playing and chatting in their dormitories.

Zhang Tong was removed from class monitor because she was too soft-hearted; Dang Hao and Qin Hao stole fruit from their classmates to save money to buy a tape recorder; Jiang Lai and Zhang Ziyi had an ambiguous relationship; Niu Qingfeng was sent to the hospital because he was too tired; and Dang Hao and Qin Hao used the money they had saved to pay for his hospitalization.

Interspersed throughout are scenes of Qin Hailu and Yuan Quan bursting into tears due to academic pressure, and Tian Zheng and Cao Jun tearfully agreeing to drop out of school, yet comforting each other and persevering.

The camaraderie among the students is evident in the scene.

The realistic and funny scenes made the audience smile, and the most interesting part was finding the cameo appearances of the celebrities.

Whether appearing in the background or making a brief appearance to say a line, they constantly evoke memories of the past for the teachers.

In the final scene, due to the students' antics, Xu Fan's completely wrecked bicycle was lost forever.

Xu Fan did not blame him, but the students had already come to accept this teacher through their long-term interactions and spontaneously organized a search throughout Beijing.

Finally, on the playground, the students called Xu Fan over.

"Teacher Chang Li, in recognition of your outstanding teaching performance, you have been named an Outstanding Teacher in the Universe! Please accept this award now."

The students clapped happily and made way for the dilapidated bicycle.

Xu Fan was both moved and gratified.

The story was originally supposed to end there, but during filming, Director Feng had a sudden inspiration and added a scene of taking graduation photos.

At the school gate, two rows of chairs were set up. The boys stood at the back, and the girls stood on the side of the first row of chairs. All the teachers who came to make a guest appearance sat down.

"Hey, why is there a gap in the middle?" the photographer's voice came from off-screen.

"Don't worry, Master, our homeroom teacher hasn't arrived yet."

The scene shifts to Ge You, the photographer, who grins with two buck teeth and says, "Hurry up and urge them on, there are others waiting to be photographed."

The audience burst into laughter; there was no way around it, that face was just too comical.

Xu Fan quickly ran over and sat in the middle seat.

Ge You squinted and smiled, "Ready? One, two, three!"

The image freezes, gradually transforming into a faded, old photograph.

Inside, the happy smiles of the Class of '96 students and their alumni are visible, while the words "Zhongyang Drama Academy" are boldly and powerfully written on the pillar beside them.

Xu Fan's voice-over rang out:

Life is a series of happy reunions interspersed with sad farewells. My children, I didn't meet you during the best of times, but meeting you gave me this best of times.

The screen went completely dark, revealing the words: "This film is dedicated to all teachers."

This touching scene had already moved the teachers and students watching the film, and the screen lit up again.

Jiang Lai knew that this was the Easter egg that Director Feng had mentioned.

The scene begins with what appears to be a room, presumably someone's home. Xu Fan then walks into the frame and waves to the camera.

"Hello, teachers and fellow students, I am your senior, Xu Fan from the class of '87, and I play the role of teacher Chang Li in this short film."

It felt so good to see the Class of '96 students again; it was like going back to my school days. Students are normal to be mischievous sometimes, so teachers should forgive them.

Xu Fan playfully pleads for the students of Class 96, and then the scene changes.

"Hello teachers and junior students, I am Hu Jun from the class of '87."

"I am He Bing from the class of '87."

"I am Chen Daoming."

"I am Jiang Wen."

All the guest stars first reminisced about the past, and then spoke well of the Class of '96.

Finally, a very important figure appeared on screen.

"Hello everyone, I'm Gong Li."

This person, who has long been a rising star on the international stage, has become a member of the Cannes Film Festival jury this year, making him the talk of the town.

The audience erupted in uproar; they hadn't expected her to participate.

"When Ming told me, I really couldn't find the time, otherwise I would have made a cameo appearance. This short film dedicated to teachers is really meaningful, so I'm pleading for these kids here. Teachers, please forgive them."

The teachers in the audience exchanged amused and helpless glances.

The students quickly said they would never do it again.

Teacher Chang Li smiled and nodded, then asked with a puzzled look, "Why are all the boys wearing hats?"

Niu Qingfeng smiled and exchanged glances with the boys. They all took off their hats in unison, revealing shiny bald heads.

"We discussed shaving our heads as a sign of our determination to study hard."

The teachers in the audience were taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter.

These students are so adorably silly.

The suspension of classes for Class 96 has come to an end, and the department head has agreed to resume classes, but requires each student to write a 4,000-word self-criticism, the reason being:

Filming during class.

The school then repeatedly played the short film throughout the school, allowing almost everyone to watch it.

One leader summarized that the bicycle is a metaphor, representing the teacher's trust in the students. If the students continue to be naughty and not study well, this bicycle representing trust will be lost, and it will take a greater effort to find it. He called on the students to study hard and listen to their teachers.

One can only say that he is indeed a leader; his interpretation carries weight.

In this short film, although Director Feng initially intended Jiang Lai and Zhang Ziyi to be the male and female leads, everyone performed very well. Many scenes were cut because he was reluctant to do so, and in the end, it became a group portrait of Class 96, which actually fits the tone of the story better.

There are no absolute protagonists in the world; in terms of life, everyone is the protagonist of their own story.

Jiang Lai and Zhang Ziyi were no longer as awkward as before because of filming together this time, but they both tacitly avoided mentioning their relationship.

Like that thin sheet of paper on a window, it will never break unless you poke at it.
