Chapter 33: Taking Mil and Marching Towards Tyrosine

After occupying a section of the city wall, Oris immediately ordered his men to split into two teams. Rag led the team to protect Oris's rear, while Oris led his men to cut down the Mir soldiers inside a section of the city wall. Oris, wearing orthogonal armor, took the lead, with the shield formation following closely behind. They almost completely occupied an entire section of the city wall.

After witnessing Oris's bravery, the soldiers on the city wall hesitated to advance. Seeing this, Oris immediately ordered Rag to rush down the wall and open the city gate. Oris, on the other hand, remained on the wall to ensure Rag's safety. As Rag led the way to open the gate, more and more soldiers climbed the wall using ladders. Oris continued to send men to assist Rag.

Around 8 or 9 a.m., after clearing the obstacles, Rag's soldiers opened the city gates. Oris also came down from the city wall after capturing nearly a thousand soldiers. When Oris saw that every house in Mil was closed and the streets were almost deserted, he immediately sent Rag's troops to surround the governors' residences.

Once the city gates opened, the remaining soldiers still attacking the city surged into the city. When the flow of people slowed down, Durotan rushed into the city and affectionately nuzzled Oris's armor with his head. Oris, seeing this, patted Durotan's head, then mounted him and began to encircle and annihilate the remaining soldiers in the city.

As the sun set, under Oris's leadership, the garrison in Mil had been largely wiped out. Oris divided the remaining soldiers and stationed them in different streets throughout the city before riding Durotan toward the area where Rag was located.

At this moment, Rag led 500 men to surround the residences of the governors of Mil. Each residence was brightly lit. Upon seeing this, Oris shouted, "Mil has been captured by us. The remaining governors in the city can guarantee your safety if they hand over half of their property and their guards."

After shouting his orders, Oris commanded the surrounding soldiers to take turns guarding the city in two shifts. He then led Durotan into the council hall of the governors. Inside the hall, Oris met Alyssan, who was the last to enter the city, and asked, "Where are the Poch's cavalry now?" Alyssan replied, "They set off when you climbed the city gates, and they're probably still guarding the south gate."

Oris was relieved after hearing this. He was also a little weak from the all-out fighting that morning. After briefly explaining the curfew to Alexandra, he fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, as soon as Oris got up, Rag immediately reported the events of the previous night: two governors, accompanied by Unsullied guards, had attempted to storm the army and had been captured.

The remaining three, seeing this, also surrendered, handing over all their Unsullied guards. Oris was overjoyed and immediately ordered the surrendered governor to be brought in. At that moment, three magnificent, black-haired Mil men entered through the door, bowing their heads as they went into the hall.

The younger man at the head of the group knelt down abruptly upon entering, proclaiming, "Greetings, Lord Oris! Congratulations on conquering Mil! On behalf of all the people of Mil, I welcome your rule!" Oris, hearing these obsequious words, made no reaction, simply saying in a low voice, "Raise your head." Only then did the man raise his head and stare at Oris without uttering a word. Oris then carefully examined the man's appearance. He wasn't handsome; a bulbous nose dominated the center of his face, making his otherwise sharp features lack any distinguishing features.

The next two were both middle-aged men with large beer bellies, their brown skin still showing barely concealed fear. Oris didn't look at them much, but instead asked the leader, "What's your name?" Upon hearing Oris's question, the governor in the lead immediately replied, "My name is Dahas-Dahal."

Oris was slightly surprised upon hearing this and asked, "You are a descendant of Krajas-Dahal?" Dahal nodded hurriedly. Oris pondered for a moment and said, "You and these two governors will go and persuade the fleet on the sea off Mil to surrender. If you succeed, I guarantee you will still be able to hold official positions in Mil in the future." After Oris finished speaking, he didn't listen to their words of loyalty and waved for them to leave.

Turning back to Rag, he asked, "Has the slave count in the city been conducted?" Rag replied, "Not yet, there's too much time." Oris replied, "Count them as soon as possible, select suitable slaves to replenish the army, and disperse the surrendered prisoners into the army."

In the time that followed, Auris spent his time either inspecting the city or supervising the soldiers' formation and training. After being replenished with slaves and prisoners, the army was barely expanded to 5000 men, of whom about 3000 were veterans from Auris Manor. This was the limit of what could be reorganized; any more would inevitably lead to a decline in combat effectiveness or mutiny.

On the third day after Auris captured Mil, Poch, who had been lying in ambush outside the city, returned with 1000 cavalrymen, along with nearly 2000 heads. Upon seeing this, Auris piled the 2000 heads in the square and loudly announced that these were all runaway governors, slave owners, their guards, and their families. He declared that anyone who had caused trouble during the war would have their entire family, regardless of age, beheaded.

Under Oris's intimidation, Myre calmed down very quickly. At this time, Dahas also brought good news: most of the Myre fleet members had surrendered, since their families were still in Myre. The rest were divided into two groups: one group went to the Stepstone Islands to join the pirates, and the other group sailed to Tyrosi.

Oris was not surprised when he received the news, after all, there were only two directions in which Myr could escape: Pentos in the north was blocked by Oris Manor, and Rhys in the south was too far away, and the nearest free trade city-state was only Tyrosi.

On the day Oris captured Myr, he sent for Ramsay and Daenerys. Three days have passed, and the two are probably on their way by ship. To avoid any unforeseen complications, Oris ordered all the wildfires in the city to be collected, wrapped tightly in shock-absorbing fabric, and then loaded onto the Myr warships.

Afterwards, Oris quickly assembled 2000 soldiers, leaving the city of Mil to be garrisoned by Rag, and boarded the original Mil fleet. That night, Oris, with his fleet, gradually sailed away from the port of Mil. During the voyage, Oris occasionally used the hurricane and the phantom to survey the surrounding situation on the sea.

At this moment, Alexandra, standing beside Oris, spoke up, "You've mostly brought new recruits. Can we even take Tyrosi?" Oris lowered his head and remained silent. Seeing Oris's expression, Alexandra hugged him tightly from behind. As the fleet was about to leave the Sea of Myr, Oris, through the Phantom's perspective, encountered Rams's fleet heading towards Myr. Upon seeing this, Oris quickly used a hurricane to send a message, requesting Rams and the others to immediately rendezvous with him. Finally, guided by the white eagle, Oris and his men were able to meet up on the vast ocean.
