The Only Player in Infinite Terror

Zheng Zha felt a chill run down his spine at the thought of that desperate scene: "Thank God, Zhan Lan and I were lucky to have met such good people as Brother Jie and Ling Qi."

"Anyway, if I were in that situation, I'd die sooner or later anyway, so I might as well fight them."

"Good person..." Ling Qi's expression was somewhat subtle after being given a "good person" card.

However, after reflecting on his gaming experience over the past two and a half months, Ling Qi realized that he now seemed more inclined to be a good person than to do evil.

It's not because he's particularly kind.

In fact, Ling Qi did quite a few bad things as a player at the beginning.

Besides raising all the other members of the Central Continent Team for fun, in the story world, he also committed all sorts of evil deeds, such as killing and soul-refining, in order to quickly become stronger and have more fun.

He's done plenty of heinous things before, like massacring cities to create the Emperor's Banner, or merging the Angel of Peace into the Electric Net and causing the Earth-Exploding Star.

But after everything was destroyed, all Ling Qi could feel was emptiness and boredom.

Therefore, in order to have a better gaming experience, he became more accustomed to being a good person.

Being a good person is more challenging, but also more rewarding.

"You should really be glad," Ling Qi smiled slightly. "Because I've already tried it, and being a good guy in a game is far more enjoyable than being a bad guy."

Zheng Zha laughed heartily: "Brother, that's a really funny joke."

However, after laughing, he noticed Ling Qi's subtle expression, so he had to force a smile and ask, "You were probably joking, weren't you?"

Ling Qi smiled but did not answer the question directly. Instead, he continued to talk at length: "Getting back to the point, how to do a good job in aquaculture is also a very important subject."

"Just as Zheng Zha said, there will definitely be new people with backbone and courage who choose to resist. It's a small matter if they die, but it's wrong to waste the profits from breeding."

"Therefore, in order to prevent losses, the core component of the breeding team is a mentalist, because a mentalist can hypnotize and manipulate the minds of newcomers."

"This way, everything will be foolproof, and newcomers will have no chance to rebel against the breeders."

"Because they are fed by the reincarnated beings they are raised, the breeders are generally very wealthy and grow stronger very quickly."

"At the same time, they can periodically use the dangers of monsters in the story world to eliminate newcomers, lower the main god's hidden score evaluation of the Reincarnation Squad, and thus enter a less difficult horror movie story world to continue to rack up points."

"If they are in a truly life-threatening situation, the breeder can use a resurrection item like the Resurrection Cross to return after the entire team is wiped out."

"After their return, since the entire Reincarnation Squad was wiped out, the Main God will basically reset their hidden points to zero and replace them with new members."

"So, they can easily and happily start the cycle of farming points again."

"Of course, this kind of farming is only slightly better than the most basic farming. The biggest problem is that farmers generally haven't experienced many life-or-death battles, and their genetic development is too low."

"Without a high-level gene lock, even if such breeders exchange for the highest-level items, they cannot fully unleash the potential of those items. When they encounter a true powerhouse, they will be crushed like insects on the roadside."

"More importantly, while the main god needs to abide by the rules, it is not a true human-machine interface."

"The main god hates the breeding teams. Once it finds an opportunity, the main god will specifically target and kill the breeding teams."

"If you offend the main god in the main god space, you can basically only wait to die."

"Although breeders have many side quests and reward points, it is difficult for them to exchange for truly good items, let alone be assigned by the main god to enter story worlds rich in resources."

Seeing how well Ling Qi understood him, Zheng Zha and the other two couldn't help but feel a little uneasy.

It's hard not to suspect that Ling Qi has done all of these things before, otherwise there's no reason for him to be so experienced!

Ling Qi naturally saw through the three men's unspoken thoughts, so he readily admitted, "That's right, I did some farming in the game before, but I found it boring and quit a long time ago."

Zheng Zha and Zhan Lan both breathed a sigh of relief, but felt a little embarrassed when they thought about how they had offered to transfer the side quests and reward points to Ling Qi not long ago.

Fortunately, Ling Qi wasn't interested in being a breeder, otherwise they would have been practically begging to be raised.

"However, the fact that aquaculture has no future doesn't mean they have no redeeming qualities," Ling Qi continued, sharing his experience.

"Their strategy of actively controlling their score and developing to become stronger is worth learning; I would call it the 'chicken claw style'."

"Of course, we're a normal team, so we definitely wouldn't lower the hidden score just to make it easier and kill our teammates."

"But what if we actually become much stronger than the God's hidden potential assessment of us?"

Zheng Zha scratched his head. It was so itchy. He felt like his brain was growing.

"Remember, the main god's evaluation of our hidden score mainly depends on the amount of side quests we complete, the amount of reward points we earn, and how we redeem them."

"There's no way to obtain the hidden score rating in this area, but there's room for manipulation when it comes to exchanging for the increased hidden score rating."

"For example, if I exchange for a B-level side quest and 5,000 reward points, then the main god will increase my hidden score rating by a fixed value."

"But what if the actual increase in strength I get from a B-level side quest and 5,000 reward points is equivalent to that from an A-level or even AA-level exchange?"

"In this way, what was originally a life-or-death danger for me may very well become just a little difficult."

Zhan Lan suddenly realized: "I think I understand now. In other words, the only change in the hidden score evaluation of the main god is the one generated by direct exchange."

"For example, if we exchange for a piece of iron ore, the main god will give us an extra piece of iron ore to make it more difficult to hit someone, without calculating what we will do with the iron ore."

"However, we actually used this iron ore to forge a set of armor and weapons. With that armor and weapons, we can easily defeat enemies we wouldn't normally be able to beat!"

Ling Qi nodded with great satisfaction: "Not bad, you are a promising student. Your analogy is very apt."

"Therefore, after we go back, we should focus on our own cultivation and research on production to become stronger, rather than just relying on the main god to exchange for empowerment."

"No prizes for this Q&A session: Can anyone guess why I had everyone inject themselves with the T-virus stock solution to intentionally bring them to the brink of death?"

Zhan Lan's pretty face flushed red from the intense heat generated by the T-virus, and she eagerly raised her hand to answer, "I know! It's because, according to the God's judgment, we didn't just breeze through Resident Evil 1 without taking any damage; we barely made it through with everyone on the verge of death!"

"This way, our hidden score will increase much less! The difficulty of the next horror movie will naturally decrease significantly! And we'll have a much higher chance of surviving!"

Ling Qi gave her a thumbs up approvingly: "Very good! You passed. Now you have learned my Chicken Claw Style fighting method."
