Warhammer: Primarch's Life from the Beginning

Chapter 39 Heavenly Punishment Holy Sword

Exiled Star, deep in the rainforest.

Leo kept his eyes glued to the scent of those beasts and followed their movements.

He moved swiftly sideways through the vines, slowly approaching the camp, when suddenly the sounds of the beasts disappeared.

Leo understood that this was the calm before the predators attacked, and he needed to intercept their attack the moment they made their move.

The voices of people not far away reached their ears; they were discussing migration routes and food distribution, but no one noticed the hidden danger lurking in the nearby woods.

How can these people have absolutely no sense of safety!

Through the dense forest beside the camp, Leo peeked out and saw a woman carrying a bucket of water, talking to her companion with her back to him.

In the open space stood a huge fallen tree trunk, with simple tarpaulins tied to the branches extending from it. A fire was surrounded by stones, and sacks and boxes were piled up beside it. Several pack animals were tethered to one side, so thin that you could count their ribs.

Civilians huddled around the fire, boiling water in a broken pot. A child clutched a short-barreled gun, while an old man leaned against a box, panting.

He was certain that the beasts were lurking somewhere, observing the humans in the clearing with him.

Suddenly, a man's scream came from the other side.

Leo burst out of the dense forest, crushed a piece of rotten wood with his foot, and leaped up, clearing the fallen tree trunk in front of him.

Then he saw a huge, gray-green, scaly beast, about his own height, lunging at the people huddled around the fire.

He pushed off the logs with his feet, accelerated again, and slammed his shoulder into the side of the beast with inertia. When his elbow struck, he could feel the bowl-sized ribs breaking. The monster didn't react for a moment, howling as it was hit and rolled over, its back hitting the mud, muttering something under its breath.

The people in the camp heard the noise first, and then saw a golden-armored giant burst out of the forest. The firelight reflected on his armor plates. The children were so frightened that they pointed their guns at him. Several men dragged the wounded man back, uttering incoherent warnings.

Leo didn't turn back; these humans couldn't help him.

He stared at the fallen beast, observing its weakness, and was about to crush its neck when two more shadows emerged from the water to his side, one on the left and one on the right, their claws slapping against the dry branches, sending debris flying. They were even faster than the previous one.

He took half a step forward and used his shoulder armor to push aside the one on the left.

With his right hand gripping the jaw of another giant beast, he twisted his wrist and used momentum to shove its head into the mud. He pressed his knee against its back, and with his left hand, he grabbed its forelimbs, pulled them outward, and crushed the joints. It screamed and struggled, lying on its side on the ground. Leo raised his foot and stepped on its chest, using his arm to pull its head closer, and then slammed his fist down.

First punch, second punch.

Until its head collapsed.

All of this happened within ten seconds of Leo lunging at him.

The giant beast with broken ribs was not dead at first. In such a short time, it endured the pain, regrouped, and charged forward.

Leo stepped to the side and then threw an uppercut. The Primarch's strength was so great that it knocked the giant beast, which was as tall as him, to the ground. Leo pounced on it and grabbed its neck. With a burst of strength from his shoulders and arms, he heard a crisp sound.

Before Leo could confirm whether his prey was dead, a force from behind sent him flying. The power backpack's pressure system issued a warning, and his armor withstood the impact, but the blunt force still injured Leo.

He turned around and saw a hideous beast covered in sharp horns. It opened its massive jaws, full of fangs, and a tongue studded with barbs shot out, wrapping around Leo's wrist.

Leo hadn't even gotten his footing before he was dragged over, but the Primarch remained unfazed. He clenched his other fist and, in the instant they were close, turned the disadvantage into an attack.

With a muffled thud, several horns on the beast's head were shattered, and its tongue was torn off by Leo before it could retract, followed by a scream.

Without the slightest hesitation, Leo grabbed a broken horn that had fallen from the beast and shattered it into its skull. His immense power propelled the sharp weapon through the beast's bones and crushed its brain.

The crisis at the camp was finally resolved.

Only then did Leo feel the pain in his shoulder blade; the adrenaline-pumping battle made him forget about his injury.

The crowd around the fire remained standing, staring at Leo, unsure whether the giant was friend or foe.

Leo's voice was projected through his helmet.

"I am a member of the Empire, you are safe." He pointed to the Imperial Skyhawk on his chest.

A tall, thin old man, leaning on a wooden cane, squeezed out of the crowd, his face covered in mud. He looked at Leo's armor.

The old man placed his hand on his chest and made a somewhat awkward eagle salute. "Thank you, sir from heaven."

.

Beside the campfire.

Leo crouched down to be at eye level with him.

This old man was a priest who taught children to read and copied contracts for people.

In the ensuing conversation, Leo learned about the history of this planet.

This was originally a planet reclaimed by the Empire, but due to a warp storm, the exiled planet was isolated from the outside world for centuries, and they forgot about those advanced technologies.

But the surviving humans managed to survive and reproduce on this planet.

Because of their unwavering will, Exile became the homeworld for the Exorcist Chapter to recruit new soldiers.

There are countless such planets in the Milky Way.

During the conversation, the civilians told Leo:

A terrifying phenomenon has recently occurred in one direction deep within the rainforest.

The armored warriors also went there, but they were never seen again.

These mortals remained trembling in Leo's presence, and he himself did not intend to disturb them further.

Having learned the location, Leo turned and disappeared into the rainforest.

.

.

He arrived at what mortals called a forbidden place.

It was a churning swamp, with a building half-submerged in it, its walls entangled in vines, and the ground collapsed into a pit.

Blasphemous patterns are everywhere, and scattered imperial eagles are smeared with blood.

Leo walked to the edge of a shallow pit, about ten meters wide, and looked down to see the pile of red-armored corpses. The Space Marines' power armor had been torn open, and there were broken chainsaw blades, spent shell casings, and trails of blood left by being dragged on the ground.

Seeing the Empire's warriors treated this way, Leo was furious, but he held back his anger and didn't utter a sound.

In case there is something even more dangerous in the darkness.

On the other side of the pit, dozens of meters away, the body of an Astartes leaned against the broken wall, her hands still gripping a huge sword, the size of which was hardly suitable for the body of an Astartes to hold.

Several small demons surrounded the stone, circling it curiously and whispering rapidly, but they dared not approach the sword's edge.

It seems Leo has discovered his mission objective; the think tank company commander has already been killed.

He raised his left hand, making a shooting gesture with his fingers. Psychic energy transformed into several silent arrows, flying through the air. When the arrows pierced the demons' chests, there was no explosion, only a burst of golden light. Several demons crumbled to ashes like burning paper.

The connection between demons is beyond the comprehension of ordinary people. Even though Leo tried his best to avoid making a sound, a roar still came from the ruins of the building, and it sounded like the monster inside was grieving for the death of its offspring.

Leo rushed to the think tank's corpse and examined the sword.

She was beautiful. The sword was about 2.5 meters long, which was a perfect size for the original body. The simple hilt wrapped around the wide blade, and an inscription was engraved on the silver-gray blade.

"With this ordinary iron, I receive the divine flame."

A rumbling sound came from inside the building, the walls cracked, and an even larger demon squeezed out of the darkness. Its tangled torso was connected to four hooves, and the two arms of its upper body ended in crab claws. Its long, thin skull with two horns stuck out its tongue.

As it shook its mane, the ground beneath its feet rippled, stones splashed like water, and the surrounding environment responded to its breath.

Leo reached out and grasped the hilt of the sword. It felt quite heavy, and the inscriptions on the blade were activated.

Golden light and electric sparks rapidly filled the lines, and psionic energy flowed like water from the hilt all the way to the tip of the sword, repeating back and forth. The holy sword sensed the demonic energy and reacted violently, creating shockwaves that spread outwards. Dust and water droplets slowly rose with the tremors, and the thick fog was pushed aside, gradually clearing the view of the ruins.

He looked at the lord, took a deep breath, and felt the Heavenly Punishment Holy Sword in his palm resonate with his power, as well as her desire for revenge.

"This is your final destination."
