Warning Star, Hyperion District, Saint Port.

After passing through the Nest City cluster, the guiding team entered the central hub of the planet's state religion, where a nearly 100-meter-tall statue of the divine emperor came into view.

Looking out, you see a whole complex of interconnected church buildings, with stone Gothic towers rising one after another, and the double-headed eagles on the tops of the towers are very eye-catching.

After the transport boat came to a stop, the hatch slowly opened and the gangway was lowered.

The area outside was already packed with people.

The bishop himself stood at the very front, followed by rows of clergy, missionaries, servants, and nuns wearing top white caps. Choirs sang softly on both sides, their voices spreading outwards through the square's loudspeakers. Incense burners were held in people's arms, puffs of smoke drifting upwards.

Leo walked in the lead, and as he stepped down the gangway, a large number of people in the square knelt down with a whoosh.

It's still the same national religion I'm familiar with.

The bishop at the very front of the welcoming crowd knelt with the most perfect posture, his forehead almost touching the ground.

Kara stood half a step behind Leo, her armor gleaming. Her gaze slowly swept over the crowd, her white hair fluttering in the wind. Her chin was slightly raised, a faint smile playing on her lips, and her expression held an undisguised satisfaction.

That's right.

This is the honor that Prince Leo deserves. His very existence is enough to make his followers kneel in worship.

Leo paused for a moment, glanced down a few times, raised his hand to signal them to get up, and the crowd parted to make way for the Primarch.

The bishop then stood up. He was elderly, with snow-white hair, deep-set eyes but sharp gaze, yet he still kept his head bowed. He wore a deep red bishop's robe, edged with gold thread, and held a scepter; he was a typical cardinal of the sector.

He took a few steps forward and bowed solemnly again.

"Sebastian Corey pledges his loyalty to you, Prince Leo."

Kore had already rehearsed this sentence in his mind countless times. Ever since Saint Port received the news of the visit, it had been a great deal of commotion. A son of a god-emperor, and a pope at that.

He guessed that when this demigod returned to the Empire, he took over their affairs, and thinking of this, Corey couldn't help but praise the High Lord of Terra who represented the state religion.

The arrival of such an important person is not a common occurrence, so he had to do his best to be a good host.

Leo looked at him.

"Get up, Bishop, we still have many things to do." Leo bent down slightly and helped Corey up. "We will need your help with many things in the future."

The bishop's wrinkles twitched slightly, as if he wanted to laugh. "I am deeply apprehensive."

"Your kindness and majesty will be remembered by this planet."

He stepped aside to make way and raised his hand in a guiding gesture.

Please allow us to welcome you inside.

.

As soon as the group moved forward a short distance, the low hum of a hovering engine came from the other side of the square.

Several hovercraft from the governor's mansion descended close to the edge of the square. The doors opened, and a group of nobles, draped in robes and shawls, quickly stepped out, their faces apologetic. Some wore masks, their mouths and noses covered by breathing masks, half their faces hidden in the shadow of their hoods. This was normal; no one would ask a question about the nobles' quirks in such a place.

The bishop's eye twitched slightly.

Kara also looked over, seemingly displeased that the governor's men were late.

Sure enough, at the front of the group of nobles, a middle-aged man with various electronic devices attached to his body bowed to Leo as soon as he approached.

"Governor of the planet, Lucien Agamemnon IX, greets you, Your Highness." He spoke clearly, "We, on behalf of the rightful rulers of this planet, welcome your arrival."

Upon hearing the words "legal ruler," the bishop immediately took over the conversation.

"The Pope's authority is above all worldly affairs." He looked directly at Lucien, his tone unwavering. "The fact that Vigilant Star can welcome the Son of the God-Emperor is a glory for the entire planet."

"The Governor's Office naturally holds the same view." The Planetary Governor smiled slightly.

Leo stood in the middle, looking left and right. As the Primarch, he naturally had to maintain his dignity, but inwardly he was constantly complaining.

It started as soon as we landed. How is this any different from Terra?

But the most important thing right now is to integrate the various forces on Vigilant Star; more people means more things will be easier.

He didn't respond to either of them, his gaze sweeping over the group of nobles one by one.

Then he frowned slightly.

There was something off about this group of people.

There were psionicists among the crowd, which was not uncommon among the imperial nobility, but this kind of psionic ability...

The darkness and deathly silence gave him a sense of the end of all things, which made him very uncomfortable.

But this description sounds so much like that of an emperor. Is this something to say?

He paused for a moment, then turned and asked Kara in a low voice.

"Are all the nobles registered?"

Kara immediately lowered her head in response.

"According to procedure, yes, Your Highness. But the records within the Governor's Office may not be complete."

Sicarius stood a little behind, as Prince Leo had warned them of some alien threats before they entered the city.

"Should we increase security?"

"No rush," Leo said calmly.

.

The procession continued forward, crossing the square and heading towards the central hall.

The hymns sung along both sides of the road grew clearer and clearer. After entering the grand hall, the bishop finally spoke formally in front of everyone.

"From this day forward, Saint Harbor pledges absolute obedience and loyalty to the Son of the God-Emperor and to His Highness Leo."

The sound traveled along the vaulted ceiling, and the hall was filled with figures bowing their heads.

Kara was also respectfully stopped at this moment by an older clergyman, who said in a low voice.

"Sister, Shadow of the Pope, please allow me to pay my respects to you."

Kara nodded slightly, so slightly that it was almost imperceptible.

"Glory to the Pope, glory to the Holy Emperor."

After the allegiance ceremony, the nobles were kept in the outer hall, while Leo was invited by the bishop to a quiet room at the back.

After the door closed, the bishop knelt down again without any hesitation.

When will this old man ever stop...?

"Your Highness, please forgive my intrusion." His voice was much lower than when he was outside. "News from Terra... Star communication was almost completely cut off during the Eternal Night Cataclysm, and we haven't received any news from the Holy Land since."

He raised his head, his eyes filled with earnestness and caution.

"Your authority is unquestionable, but I have not received instructions to go to the Holy Land. Has the Pope's designation ceremony been completed?"

"I awoke after the rift in the sky opened," Leo said slowly after a moment of silence.

"A demonic invasion has broken out on Terra." Leo's voice was calm. "When news of the fall of Kadia reached the Throne World, the minions of the Chaos Gods tore a gash in the heart of the Holy Land, and I participated in that war."

He paused.

"The Grand Master of the Saints, Morvenval, and the High Lord Desius, who represented the state church, suggested that I take over the state church."

Corey nodded intently. He certainly knew those two names: one was the highest leader of the Sisters of the Order, and the other was the representative of the State Church in the Council of Terra Highlords. If they jointly nominated him, it meant that the highest levels of the entire State Church had given their approval.

"But the Pope's designation ceremony is far too lengthy," Leo continued. "During the Eternal Night Cataclysm, the Empire's transportation and communication were almost paralyzed, and representatives from various sectors were unable to reach Terra. I don't know how long it would take to complete the entire process according to protocol, and there may have been deaths along the way."

Corey's lips parted slightly.

"Then you..."

“I have met with the God-King,” Leo said. “He guided me here.”

The candlelight in the quiet room flickered simultaneously.

Kore knelt on the spot, his breathing quickening. All his doubts paled in comparison to the divine revelation.

"I understand, Your Highness." His forehead touched the ground again, his voice more devout than before. "Your arrival itself is a decree. The central authority of the state religion of Vigilant Star will do everything in its power to serve you."

He raised his head.

"Please give the order for anything you need. Whether it's the military, intelligence, or personnel deployment—the entire planet's sanctuary is at your command."
