I am the Demon King of the Dungeon!

Chapter 31: The Samigina Order

The woman's smile froze for a moment. She had seen all the emotions that humans could express, but the person in front of her had none of them; his eyes were as calm as a stagnant pool.

"Aren't you angry?"

"No."

Arthas had no emotions, just as a human wouldn't cry over the death of an ant.

"Hmph, what a boring man."

The woman licked her lips, revealing a childlike yet cruel smile.

"Don't think I'm like those small fry. My strength is comparable to a platinum-level adventurer. I'm going to cut off your fingers one by one and see if you can still keep your composure."

Platinum level?

Arthas raised an eyebrow.

"Who is your master?"

"You want to convert now? It's too late!"

"The water flow will accelerate!"

"Never give up the fortress!"

"Speedy evasion!"

"All abilities enhanced! All abilities super enhanced!"

The woman channeled all her martial arts skills into her body, her form blurring as she thrust her short sword straight at Arthas's face.

The six martial arts techniques were her most treasured skills.

The moment the short sword pierced her eye socket, the woman activated the sword's enchantment, and azure lightning exploded at the tip of the sword!

boom!

Smoke and dust filled the air.

"We succeeded!"

However, the black smoke dissipated...

A pale white protective membrane stood between the two.

Arthas didn't even move.

The tip of the dagger pressed against the protective membrane, but it didn't leave even the slightest crack on the membrane.

A single strike combining six martial arts techniques.

It was blocked.

The woman's hands were trembling, not entirely from fear, but more from shock. She had seen many powerful figures before—deacons of the order, archbishops, platinum-level and epic-level adventurers, even knights of the kingdom—but she had never encountered anything like this before. Her full-force attack hadn't even been able to make the opponent move.

"What...what kind of magic is this?"

"It's not magic, it's the might of dragons," Arthas asked calmly. "You seem to have killed many people?"

"Dragon, Dragon's Might?" The woman repeated the unfamiliar word, her pupils suddenly contracting. A thought flashed through her mind: the creature in front of her was not human.

But...

Standing at the top of the food chain on the continent of Ashu, these are legendary ancient creatures capable of single-handedly destroying a city.

Dragon.

Unfortunately, Arthas was not a dragon, but a being more ancient and powerful than dragons.

The woman trembled involuntarily, starting from her knees and spreading to her thighs, waist, chest, arms, and fingertips. The dagger slipped from her hand, making a crisp clinking sound.

"You...you're a dragon?"

"You're quite good. You haven't knelt down yet, which shows you have the strength of a platinum-level expert..." Arthas's lips curled up, and his upper body began to swell, with black dragon scales appearing on his skin.

The woman's pupils suddenly shrank to pinpoints.

Dragon scales began to grow from his forehead, like black armor covering Arthas's skin. His eyes changed from round brown pupils to vertical amber pupils, and there was no warmth in the depths of his pupils, only an indifference that had transcended the long years.

His bones were growing, his shoulders were broadening, his back was bulging, and his muscles were bulging beneath the black scales, tearing his clothes. Two curved dragon horns emerged from his forehead.

The woman knelt on the ground, looking up at the half-dragon in front of her, every cell in her body screaming!

Run! Run fast!

But her feet seemed to be nailed to the spot.

"You just said," Arthas's voice deepened and became more resonant, "that you wanted to cut off my finger?"

The woman's tears fell uncontrollably, mixed with snot, dripping onto the ground. She wanted to beg for mercy, but it felt like her throat was being choked, and she couldn't utter a single word.

Arthas reached out, black scales covering his fingertips, his nails transforming into sharp claws, tiny bone spurs protruding from his joints. He lifted the woman's chin, raising her face to look at him.

"Tell me, what does it feel like to have your eyes gouged out?"

The woman's tears kept falling, and she made a "hoarse" sound in her throat.

"Tell me, what does it feel like to have your leg cut off?"

Arthas released his grip, and the woman's body slumped to the ground, as if flesh had been stripped of its bones.

"Stand up."

The woman did not move; her eyes were lifeless.

"Stand up."

The woman still struggled to stand up, not out of courage, but because her body was naturally responding to a command.

"Take up your sword."

The woman bent down, her fingers trembling several times before she finally picked up the dagger and held it in her hand.

"Don't you like cutting people's fingers?" Arthas raised his right hand, fingers spread. "Come on, cut them."

The woman's hand trembled, and the entire knife shook. The blade made a faint "humming" sound as it struck the air. She raised the knife, aiming it at Arthas's fingers, and the tip of the knife stopped less than an inch from the scales.

I can't cut it.

"Cut it quickly."

The woman's knife fell to the ground with a crisp clinking sound. She knelt down, her hands supporting her on the ground, her forehead pressed against the cold stone slab, her whole body curled up in a ball, trembling uncontrollably.

"Please...please...kill me..."

Arthas looked down at the woman.

"When you were torturing others, did they ever beg you for this?"

The woman's body stiffened abruptly.

"Yes...yes..."

"Have you stopped?"

"No...no..."

Why not?

"Because...because...the Lord said...the sacrifice must...endure sufficient suffering..."

"Who is your master?"

The woman's body stiffened abruptly.

Arthas saw that deep within her pupils, a snake was slowly slithering beneath the surface of her eyeballs.

"Sa, Samigina..."

As soon as she finished speaking, the woman's body began to convulse, the snake writhed violently in her pupils, and black blood seeped from the corner of her eyes.

Her eyes rolled back suddenly, her body sprang up as if electrocuted, and then crashed heavily back to the ground. Black blood gushed from her eyes, nose, mouth, and ears at the same time, soaking the ashes beneath her.

Arthas crouched down and checked the woman's breath.

died.

Samikina?

Arthas stared at the still-bleeding corpse on the ground. The seventy-two demons of King Solomon—names he had read about in books in his previous life, from myths and legends, things that did not exist.

However, the Samigina of this world is clearly not the demon god in the book, but rather an organization that borrowed this name, or an entity that calls itself a "demon god".

Arthas stood up and looked around. This was not the end point, but just a stronghold. The Samigina Order was an organized and systematic entity.

Interesting, the human world is truly fascinating...

Compared to managing a dungeon, the immersive experience of an adventurer's life teases every nerve.

Is this what it feels like to be alive?

Before leaving, Arthas found no other kidnapped people and had to return to the altar.

The round-faced youth, the man with the giant sword, and the female archer were still lying there, and he carried the three of them back on his shoulders.

"Let's go, I'll take you home."
