I am the Demon King of the Dungeon!

Chapter 88: A Thrilling Battle

On the other side of the battlefield.

The number of sand scorpion kings has not decreased.

Each time one falls, a new sand pillar explodes on the sand surface, and a new sand scorpion king crawls out.

While battling Kahn, Pirian used magic to maintain his summons, and the constant influx of reinforcements kept the pressure on the battlefield at a constant level.

"She's using minions to wear us down!" Liz's quiver was empty; she could only retrieve arrows from the Sand Scorpion King's corpse for reuse.

Milo's magic power was more than half depleted, the earthen wall was getting thinner and thinner, and the fireball's power was not as great as before.

Groom's shield was studded with the stingers of the Sand Scorpion King's severed tails, making him look like a bristling iron hedgehog, but his battle axe was still swinging, constantly slashing at the Sand Scorpion Kings that pounced at him.

Arthas stood guard on the perimeter, and every time the Sand Scorpion King was blasted away, he would rush forward to finish it off.

The four of them worked together more and more smoothly.

Kahn and Pierion were entangled.

Despite her injury, Pilian's spear thrusts did not weaken; instead, they grew faster. Her crimson armor was covered in cracks, but the dark red gem on her chest continued to glow, each flash increasing her speed and power.

Kahn's Holy Light Shield had shattered several times, and each time it reformed, it was thinner than the last. The right sleeve of his robe was torn by the spear tip, revealing a deep, bone-revealing wound on his forearm. Blood dripped from his elbow onto the sand, but Kahn's expression remained unchanged.

A healing hand!

A flash of holy light stopped the bleeding.

If this drags on, the Vast Expanse Squad will inevitably lose.

It wasn't a matter of skill that led to defeat, but rather a matter of stamina.

Because of the dungeon mechanics, Perion's summoning continues indefinitely, while human magic is finite.

Kahn deflected Pirien's shot, leaped back several steps, and landed at the front of the group. He put a black ring on the index finger of his left hand, the gem shining with a dim light.

"Everyone step back."

Groom glanced at it, and his expression changed drastically the moment he saw the ring. "No way, you're going to use that?"

"Step back."

Kahn's voice was not loud, but it was undeniable.

Arthas was confused, but he still chose to retreat quickly with his three teammates.

Kahn raised his left hand high above his head, and the gem exploded into a burst of dark light, which collapsed inward, engulfing his entire left arm in darkness.

The next second, black light exploded.

Countless black threads emerged from the ring, spreading along his left arm to his shoulder, then covering his chest, waist, and legs, until every inch of his skin was tightly wrapped in the black threads.

After the wrapping was complete, it began to transform, the soft threads turning into hardened armor plates, which were pieced together and interlocked, producing a dense metallic clanging sound.

The helmet was the first to take shape. The full-face helmet emerged from the silk threads, covering Kahn's entire face, leaving only a very narrow slit for his eyes, radiating a cold silver light.

The breastplate followed closely behind, with layers of black plates spreading out, each plate edge gleaming with a dark silver luster. The shoulder armor extended to both sides, forming sharp wing-like structures. The armor on both arms extended from the back of the hands all the way to the fingertips, allowing the five fingers to move freely. The plates at the base of the thumb were specially thinned to not affect the force of making a fist.

Leg armor covers the knees and tibias, with sharp rams embedded in the knee armor. The final piece is a pair of propulsion wings on the back, with four diamond-shaped armor plates unfolding in a fan shape.

As the last armor plate snapped into place, Kahn loosely clenched his left hand, and a dark light condensed in his palm into a halberd. The shaft was the same color as his armor, the blade was dark silver, and the back of the blade was engraved with the same runes as those on the propulsion wings.

The entire suit of armor covered Kahn from head to toe, making him appear a full size larger than before. It wasn't as if he was wearing armor, but rather as if he had been swallowed up by it and reforged. A flash of silver light appeared in the slits of his helmet, and his halberd slammed into the ground, causing spiderweb-like cracks to appear in the sand beneath his feet.

World-class Noble Phantasm - Demon Possession.

Pirian stopped in mid-air.

She tilted her head and examined the dark humanoid weapon in front of her, first surprised, then slowly becoming excited.

"A world-class Noble Phantasm? That's more like it!"

Pirian gripped his gun with both hands, and dozens of sand pillars exploded on the sand surface. The dark red gem in the center of his breastplate suddenly erupted, and the cracks on his deep red armor were filled with red light.

The sand beneath her feet all floated in mid-air, coalescing into a giant sand worm with densely packed serrated teeth in its mouthparts, like rotating blades.

The sandworms let out a deafening roar!

The propellers lit up, and Kahn's figure vanished from his spot, leaving only a ring of dust shattered into powder.

Arthas never expected that Cain possessed a world-class Noble Phantasm. Both were armor-type, but the Demon Possession was clearly stronger than Pierion's Crimson War God, with completely different auras.

As it accelerated forward, the halberd transformed into a black lightning bolt, piercing into the sand worm's mouth and emerging from its tail. Its massive body exploded from the inside out, its bodily fluids and carapace pouring out like a torrential rain.

Pirian thrust his spear at Kahn from the side.

The halberd parried back, the spear tip striking the halberd shaft.

Sparks flew everywhere!

There were no fancy moves; it was pure brute force fighting.

Above the desert, two afterimages raced against each other.

Using the momentum, Pirian changed his move, the chain at the end of his spear tightening around the halberd shaft. He moved up along the chain, his left palm gathering a sand spear to stab at the slit in Kahn's helmet at close range, while the gem on his chest exploded with a dark red shockwave.

The two attacks erupted at point-blank range.

Kahn did not dodge, allowing the sand spear and the shockwave to hit his helmet simultaneously. The sand spear shattered, and the shockwave caused the propulsion wings to vibrate violently, but his body remained motionless.

In the milliseconds between the exhaustion of Pirien's old strength and the generation of new strength, the halberd was drawn from the chains, its blade slashing upwards and striking the very center of the crack in Pirien's breastplate.

This strike combined the holy light of the Arbiter with the destructive power of the demonic possession itself. The halberd blade pierced through the armor, and cracks spread from the breastplate to the shoulder guards, arm guards, and skirt armor. The crimson armor was pierced through and shattered completely under the double blow.

The fragments turned into dark red specks of light in mid-air and vanished without a trace. An indescribable light flashed in Pirian's amber eyes.

Her body began to disintegrate from the crack in her chest, and dark red specks of light drifted into the desert sky.

Pirian's gaze passed over Kahn, through Grum and Liz who were clearing out the remaining Sand Scorpion Kings, past Milo who was covering his teammates with an earthen wall, and finally landed on the young man holding a holy silver longsword at the edge of the group.

A very slight, faint curve appeared at the corner of her mouth, and the specks of light floated into the sky, merging into the blazing sun.

Kahn knelt on one knee, using his halberd to support his body. The armor, shrouded in demonic energy, peeled away piece by piece, turning into black threads that retracted back into his ring.

He was covered in sweat, his right sleeve was soaked with blood, and the wound had started to bleed again after the armor was removed, but his breathing remained steady and there was no sign of fatigue in his eyes.

"Twentieth floor, breakthrough."
