Wizard: I Have a World of the Dead
046: Long time no see, Thor.
Before me lay an extremely spacious hall, so large it looked like several basketball courts joined together, with a dome so high it almost disappeared from view.
An indescribable odor permeated the air. It wasn't decay, nor was it a medicine; rather, it was a more complex, bizarre scent, a mixture of death and rebirth, decay and creation.
It's as if countless things are dismantled, reassembled, conceived, and then abandoned here.
The broken instruments emerged from the darkness. Huge petri dishes lay scattered on the ground, their glass walls cracked and their inner surfaces bearing traces of dried, yellowish liquid.
The metal tabletop was rusty and scattered with various tools whose names I didn't know: pliers, tweezers, bone saws, skull drills, each one a size larger than normal.
Amidst these wreckages, in the central open space of this enormous laboratory, a dark mass of undead gathered.
There were several hundred of them.
Skeletons, zombies, and hypocrites huddled together, the creaking of bones grinding against each other and the hissing of leaky pipes merging into a low hum that echoed through the empty hall.
And in the deepest part of that sea of the dead, surrounded by clusters of green fire, stood a chair. A large chair, pieced together from cast iron and wooden planks.
A giant was sitting in the chair.
It is over three meters tall, like a silent little mountain.
His head was very large, covered by a huge triangular helmet with only two narrow slits at the eye level. The slits were dark, and it was impossible to see if there was any light inside.
His upper body was bare, revealing his bulging muscles. They looked like lumps of flesh forcibly stuffed under his skin, swollen and as if they might burst through it at any moment.
Her lower body was wrapped in a thick leather.
What's most shocking are the dense black lines covering his body. Starting from his neck, they spread along his shoulders to his chest, then to his waist, and finally wrapped around his thighs.
Like centipedes, they crawled all over his body, stitching up into hideous scars.
Deeply embedded in the flesh, it looked as if pieces of muscle that did not belong to the same body had been forcibly pieced together.
Beside the chair stood a huge, rhomboid iron hammer. The hammerhead was rhomboid, and the whole thing was cast from some kind of dark metal, its surface covered with rust and dried bloodstains.
Faced with this terrifying image that would haunt one's nightmares, Lin Qi's lips curled into a smile.
Instead of fear, his eyes revealed a sense of warmth and affection.
"Long time no see, Thor."
Thor Wilson is a master blacksmith in the Campbell Empire's Blacksmith Guild.
Such technically skilled individuals were already considered upper-class figures in the Campbell Empire and were protected by the power elite.
However, these things meant nothing to the already crazed Mordred.
He tricked Wilson under the pretense of helping him gain a long lifespan, and then conducted a series of cruel magical experiments on him, ultimately transforming him into the inhuman, ghostly figure he is today.
Lynch's enthusiastic greeting quickly caught Thor's attention, and as if provoked, the monster jumped up from his chair.
At that moment, the entire hall trembled.
The three-meter-tall body resembled a collapsing hill. He grabbed a nearby iron hammer and swung it horizontally, creating a dull whistling sound.
The hammer slammed into the surrounding dungeon undead, the sound of bones shattering exploding like firecrackers. Four or five skeletons were blasted away, crashing into a petri dish in the distance, shattering the glass and sending shards flying.
"Hoh—roar!" From the gaps in the helmet, crimson light shone like two lit lamps, locking onto Lynch's direction.
The undead surged forth like a tide. Hundreds of skeletons, zombies, and hypocrites rushed in simultaneously, the cracking of bones grinding together and the gurgling of leaky throats blending into a deafening roar.
As usual, Lin Qi did not hesitate. He turned around and retreated into the corridor, summoning a portal with one hand and controlling the undead army to form a battle formation with the other.
Diego charged out first, heading straight for Thor. He used a Wind Slash to draw Thor's aggro and then lured him to a corner of the hall, away from the main battlefield.
Meanwhile, the battle at the entrance to the hall had also intensified.
Lynch's undead army clashed with the tide of undead in the hall. The sound of the dungeon skeletons in the front row colliding with the enemy's bones was as dense as rain, and sparks flew as sword blades struck the skeletons.
The Blizzard Lich raised his staff, and ice and snow exploded in the enemy ranks. Frost spread along the skeletons, freezing them stiff and sluggish.
The Fireball Lich's dark red fireball exploded among the undead, sending bone fragments flying and heatwaves carrying bone dust throughout the corridor.
Lynch stood in the back row, extended his right hand, and the Wisdom Wand floated into his palm. The pale blue stone at the top of the wand lit up, and dazzling lightning surged within the ice cracks. He swung the wand downwards.
"Thunderbolt - Lightning Strike"
Seven silvery-white lightning bolts struck down from the dome simultaneously, the lightning bolts bouncing wildly among the undead, piercing the skulls of skeletons and shattering the chests of zombies.
The bones, frozen and brittle by ice and snow, shattered like porcelain in the lightning. White bones flew like snowflakes, green flames were extinguished in the lightning, and the sound of fragments falling to the ground was as dense as rain.
One group fell, and another surged forward, stepping on the broken bones of their companions to charge ahead.
But Lynch's lines were rock solid.
The dungeon skeletons in the front row blocked the entrance, while the lich behind them cast spells in turn. Every few seconds, the wand of wisdom in his hand would strike down a bolt of lightning, clearing out the densest horde of undead.
When some skeletons couldn't hold out and were defeated, Lynch immediately used whatever materials he had on hand to revive new skeletons to fill the gaps on the front lines.
By employing this seemingly invincible and unreliable tactic, Lin Qi steadily defended the entrance.
The battle lasted for nearly half an hour.
When the last false one was reduced to shattered bones in the lightning, the tide of the dead in the hall finally dissipated completely.
However, the battle is far from over.
In the corner, Thor and Diego were still locked in a fierce battle, the sounds of clashing weapons filling the air.
Lin Qi raised his right hand, reviving the broken undead on the ground. After replenishing the troops, he immediately issued new combat orders.
"Surround them."
More than twenty undead simultaneously turned and surrounded the giant in the center of the hall who was still fighting Diego.
Thor had more than a dozen wounds on his body at this point. The deepest one ran diagonally from his left shoulder to his waist, left by Diego's Wind Slash repeatedly cutting the same spot.
But his movements did not slow down at all; each swing of the hammer carried immense force, creating a deep crater on the ground and a hole in the wall with each strike.
Just then, Lynch's undead army arrived.
More than twenty undead rushed forward at the same time. Unlike Diego, who wandered around tentatively, they pressed on relentlessly, seemingly unafraid of death.
The sword blade slashed at Thor's legs, waist, and back, like a swarm of ants gnawing at a giant beast.
Thor roared and swung his hammer, smashing three skeletons to pieces with one blow and sweeping two more away with another.
But no matter how many skeletons he smashes, more will always rise from the broken bones—
Lynch stood at a distance, and whenever a skeleton was shattered, he would unleash his control over it, using the broken bones on the ground to reassemble it into a complete warrior, who would then rejoin the battle.
at last!
Chris Hemsworth's movements finally started to slow down.
His body was riddled with arrows and sword fragments, and the dense stitches began to break.
The skin rolled up from the shoulder to the arm, revealing the dark red, still slightly twitching muscle tissue underneath.
Diego seized the moment when Thor froze after swinging his hammer, slashing in from the side and slashing his greatsword deep into the back of Thor's knee. The blade severed the tendon and lodged itself in the bone.
Thor's body suddenly swayed, and he fell to one knee. The hammer slipped from his hand and smashed on the ground, sending up a spray of gravel.
"Now!"
Lynch let out a loud, childish roar, raised his wand, and the blue light at the tip of the wand shone brightly.
Seven bolts of lightning struck simultaneously, all converging on Thor's head and chest.
Lightning exploded, black smoke billowed from the gaps in the helmet, and the dense stitches snapped one by one in the lightning and fire, flesh rolled back, revealing the bones beneath that had been modified beyond recognition.
Thor's body froze on the spot, the crimson light flickering violently twice in the gaps of his helmet before going out.
"Boom—" The three-meter-tall body fell forward and crashed into the pile of bones, raising a cloud of bone dust.
The hall fell silent again.
Lynch put away his wand and eagerly stepped forward.
Palm down, aimed at the mangled body.
Control the undead, activate.
An invisible spiritual force surged from his palms, like countless fine threads, penetrating every bone, every tendon, and every suture of that body.
The sutures began to tighten again, the rolled-up flesh began to reattach, and the shattered bones began to reassemble.
The dark red light reappeared through the gaps in the helmet.
next second.
The three-meter-tall body moved.
It first propped itself up on its arms, then its knees, and then slowly stood up. The hammer was pulled from the ground and held in its palm.
Then he lowered his head, the dark red flames from the gaps in his helmet aimed at Lynch, and stood quietly, awaiting orders.
Haha!
Lynch was overjoyed.
He immediately opened the system panel, and when the rows of data exceeding the limits were displayed in front of him...
Lin Qi's lips involuntarily curled upwards.
