Chapter 157 The Girl Whose Skirt Was Eaten
Alex was very efficient; he immediately went to find Algrim, who was in charge of the overall situation.
Svartalfheim is full of intact but uninhabited houses; Alex could produce hundreds if he wanted them, let alone just a few.
Alex selected nine locations, and Algrim immediately arranged for people to help Alex tidy up the houses.
The dark elf warrior, who hadn't even had time to take off his armor, was reassigned to a new profession and became a construction worker.
Markul and Warrenger are examples of this.
The two, who were gunners on the dark elf warship, were fully armed and ready to fight alongside their leader to dominate the Nine Realms just a day before.
He was then sent by Algrim to help the Earthlings build a shop.
Their abilities were recognized by Algrim, and they were also highly skilled in the Dark Elf army, so Algrim ordered them to each lead a squad of soldiers and split into two groups.
Markul was at a loss for what to do; he had no experience whatsoever and couldn't understand Alex's request to whitewash the walls with putty.
Makul is a born dark elf warrior who has lived in Svartalfheim, shrouded in eternal darkness, since childhood, spending almost all his time in the swamp of rotting corpses.
He instinctively rejects any bright color.
Algrim chimed in, trying to cheer her on, "Markul, is the chocolate delicious?"
There's no need to ask this question; there's only one answer, and Markul is no exception.
"Delicious! It's even better than the most delicious spider bread I've ever had!" Markul is a huge chocolate lover.
"This place will be transformed into a shop to sell chocolate. Something as delicious as chocolate shouldn't be sold in a gloomy and terrifying room; that would contradict the pleasure chocolate brings."
Algrim didn't know the difference between a bright and shiny shop and a gloomy and terrifying one, but since Willy Wonka had mentioned it at the banquet, he simply copied it to appease his men.
"Algrim, I like dark and spooky things! I think the dark color of chocolate matches the atmosphere of this room perfectly."
Markul also had his own opinion: judging from the color alone, most chocolates did not have bright colors, but rather the same color as the mud on a swamp.
Algrim pulled a strawberry-filled chocolate from his pocket; its pink appearance was quite adorable to the dark elf.
"Markul, this chocolate is pink; not all chocolates are brown or black. You have to consider most situations. Besides, Chief Willy Wonka said that chocolates will be unhappy if sold in the wrong environment."
Markul couldn't believe it; he thought, how could food have its own feelings? It was simply unbelievable.
He looked at Alex with a questioning gaze. Alex was a person of status on the other side of the world and certainly knew more about chocolate than Algrim.
Alex nodded and explained to Markul, "Every single chocolate and every single candy is made on Mr. Willy Wonka's territory—Chocolate Island."
"Each species has its own personality and temperament. If stored in an unsuitable environment, they will spoil quickly and lose their delicious taste."
"Every piece of chocolate can bring joy and hope to the consumer, but when the storage environment does not meet the requirements of chocolate, they will lose this characteristic and turn from a special food into the most ordinary candy."
Alex pointed to the gloomy, dark room in front of him and said, "This is a storage space that clashes with chocolate's temperament."
Markul was convinced that his preference for darkness was his own business, and that he chose chocolate over darkness.
After all, liking something can't put food on the table, but chocolate can definitely stave off hunger and provide energy. It satisfies energy in every sense of the word, both physical and emotional needs.
So Markul led a team of men under Alex's command to paint the interior and exterior walls of the house white, while also beginning to modify some details.
Colorful little lights, oil paintings on the walls, an aromatherapy diffuser in the middle of the room, and even glowing cloud-shaped cotton candy hanging upside down from the ceiling.
This was an eye-opener for the dark elves; they had never seen anything like it before.
While hanging the oil painting, a dark elf couldn't resist reaching out and smearing it with his finger. The paint stuck to his finger, and he put the green paint into his mouth.
Although he had never eaten an apple, the concept of an apple naturally came to mind.
"Boss Markul, it tastes like green apple!"
As he spoke, he reached out and rubbed the oil painting a few more times, then began to eat it with relish. This was much tastier than rotten flesh, and he even felt that his body smelled better after eating it.
When Markul heard the sound, he looked up and saw that the dark elf had already finished eating the green dress of the girl in the painting.
Markul was surprised to find tears welling up in the eyes of the girl in the painting. He pointed at the greedy dark elf and yelled at him to stop immediately.
The dark elf noticed this too. He embarrassedly helped the girl wipe away her tears, only to find that the tears were also paint, and white marks appeared on his hands again.
He instinctively put his finger in his mouth.
"Boss Markul, it tastes like cream!"
boom!
The dark elf was captured by Makul.
"Mr. Browning, come here for a moment!" Markul was also a little at a loss, and he immediately called for reinforcements.
Alex rushed over as soon as he heard the commotion.
Markul pointed to the oil painting on the wall and said to him, "Mr. Browning, my subordinate ate the dress in the painting, and also ate a mouthful of tears. What should we do?"
Alex followed Markul's finger and saw that the girl in the painting was staring at him angrily, which made him feel guilty.
These oil paintings have a special effect; they were created by him and Mr. Willy Wonka together after persuading the creatures in the heart of Chocolate Island, the chocolate factory.
These oil paintings form a special channel through which the creatures in the chocolate factory can project their consciousness into them.
Alex remembered that he and Mr. Willy Wonka invited many, many creatures together.
Some creatures have complete bodies, while others are not a specific living being, but merely a gust of wind or a ray of sunlight.
However, they all developed their own will within the chocolate factory, and once mourned Willy Wonka's demise together.
The worst part is that Alex doesn't know which being represents the consciousness behind the painting.
He couldn't even apologize, so Alex could only build a small ladder and use paint to slowly paint out the girl's skirt.
