Marvel: Wonka's Chocolate Factory
Chapter 86 The Fate of a Trickster
The Ancient One now lies on her hospital bed, her pale face and frail body clearly indicating that she is on her last legs. As for why she suddenly became like this, no one but the Ancient One herself knows.
She was in a private hospital room, which was filled with fruit and flower baskets, all of which were gifts from her disciples.
The Ancient One is currently in a hospital in New York, completely oblivious to the chaos unfolding outside.
Whether it was Tony blowing up the city's pipes or Isabella leading her chocolate soldiers to take over all of New York, even when the power of the Dark Dimension appeared on Earth, the Ancient One didn't spare a single ounce of energy for it.
At this moment, Gu Yi was very calm, as if all her attention was focused on the apple she was eating.
Kaecilius was now extremely anxious, barely able to suppress the dark energy within him. Dormammu's furious, mad howls filled the minds of all his followers equally.
Especially after Dormammu's tentacles were severed by Willy Wonka, the Lord of the Dark Dimension became even more enraged. He urgently urged his capable subordinates to descend into the real universe in their true form.
Dormammu's constant urging caused Kaecilius's disguise to gradually disappear, and the echoing roars and commands in his mind deepened the dark power within him.
By the time the Ancient One finished eating the apple, Kaecilius no longer resembled any disciple of the Sorcerer Supreme; he had become nothing more than a lackey of a dimensional demon.
"Casillas, is there anything you want to say to me, cough cough..."
Gu Yi raised her head with some difficulty. She looked at the disciple she had once placed high hopes on, and a hint of disappointment and regret flashed in her eyes.
But when she thought of her new disciple Strange, the Ancient One couldn't help but feel gratified; Kamar-Taj still had a successor.
The Ancient One secretly resolved in her heart that she would not let her talented disciple, Strange, follow in Kaecilius's footsteps.
Only the Ancient One and Kaecilius were in the ward at that moment; the other sorcerers had all left due to various unforeseen events. The Ancient One knew that Kaecilius was behind it all, but she said nothing and simply waited quietly.
The Ancient One hoped that Kaecilius would repent and confess to her, which would be the best outcome. Otherwise, she would resolve this problem for Strange and not put her own junior disciple in a difficult position in the future.
"teacher……"
Casillas hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.
"Casillas, do you still remember why you became my disciple in the first place?"
"Of course I remember, it was for the great cause of the mage, and also for the resurrection of my wife and children."
Casillas would never forget his original purpose for learning magic, nor would he forget his ultimate goal.
As a disciple, he should respect his teacher, but the current situation is almost a given for both of them. Kaecilius doesn't believe that the Ancient One wouldn't be able to see through his blatant dark power.
The Ancient One paused for a moment before continuing, "Casillas, you..."
However, Kaecilius was currently very agitated and seemed ready to give up entirely. He interrupted the Ancient One's question and countered with:
"Ancient One, I've been with Kamar-Taj for so long, but you've only taught me guardian magic, never revealing even the slightest clue that could bring my orphans back to life."
The Ancient One stared intently at Kaecilius, her slow, hoarse voice ringing out: "Kaecilius, you can't do it."
"Ancient One, you are so hypocritical! You have been using the power of the Dark Dimension to prolong your life, so why can't I use the power of the Dark Dimension to resurrect my wife and children?"
Casillas's appearance had changed drastically. He seemed to have been marinated in darkness, exuding a cold and evil aura, completely different from his former self.
"Gu Yi, you are a complete hypocrite."
The Ancient One closed her eyes in anguish. She was the all-powerful Sorcerer Supreme, yet she was powerless to help Kaecilius's plea.
The deaths of Kaecilius's wife and son were key factors in Kaecilius's embrace of magic and becoming the apprentice of the Sorcerer Supreme.
The death of his beloved was the key to Kaecilius's path to magic. At this point in time, Kaecilius's becoming a mage was a foregone conclusion, and the deaths of his wife and children were also a fait accompli.
Everything can be changed, but this is the one thing that is so hard to change. Even the Sorcerer Supreme is sometimes powerless in the face of unpredictable fate.
Seeing that the Ancient One remained silent, Kaecilius assumed that his words had hurt her.
"Ancient One, if you had even the slightest concern for your disciple, things wouldn't have turned out this way. We're in New York right now, and outside is the minions of that newly born dimensional daemon, Willy Wonka, the Lord of the Sweet Dimension."
"But you haven't taken any action. You attacked the Dark Dimension with full force, but you remained unmoved in the face of this newly born dimensional demon."
"Could it be that this newly born dimensional demon can offer you more benefits? Is it that the power of this Sweet Dimension makes it easier to prolong your life than the Dark Dimension? Why aren't you saying anything!"
Kaecilius was emotionally broken and slumped to the ground, while the Ancient One remained in bed in her hospital gown, motionless.
Originally, she wanted to point out that Kaecilius should be taken down after serving Dormammu.
Now she changed her mind, because Kaecilius was right; she had indeed neglected her disciples, and the depth of Kaecilius's resentment far exceeded the Ancient One's imagination.
The Ancient One believed that after so much time, Kaecilius should have let go of his obsession, but he didn't; Kaecilius was still holding a grudge.
Thinking of this, the Ancient One made a move, gently extending her finger and pointing it in the direction of Kaecilius, thus suppressing the dark dimensional power on Kaecilius's body.
The voice of Dormammu, which had been roaring in Kaecilius's mind, suddenly stopped.
"Casillas, I don't care what your intentions are, but since you haven't defected from Kamar-Taj, you are still my disciple. I will answer your questions."
"If you still consider yourself my disciple, then help me up and come with me to Washington."
"The Ancient One said calmly, while Kaecilius, who had been slumped on the ground, had already gotten up."
He sensed a vibrant life force in the Ancient One's words; the Ancient One's true condition was nothing like her current state of utter exhaustion.
So Kaecilius got up and helped the Ancient One off the sickbed.
"Casillas, take Strange with you. The three of us will go to Washington. All your questions will be answered once we get there."
Kaecilius had no doubts about the Ancient One's arrangement for him. With a casual gesture, an orange circle appeared in the air, through which Strange could be seen diligently practicing magic, with the King providing guidance from the side.
Because Willy Wonka cleanly severed the tentacles extending from the Dark Dimension, not all the mages of the Holy Land were mobilized.
Casillas' invisible hand grabbed Strange by the shoulder and pulled him into the tunnel.
Wang, who was standing nearby, saw the Ancient One standing next to Kaecilius through the passage, so he did not stop Strange from being "taken away".
Strange didn't react with any excessive panic; he simply swung his hand back, a golden light flashing in it. This was one of the few offensive spells Strange possessed.
Casillas held Strange's wrist firmly, unaffected by his attack.
"Be more composed, Strange. Don't act like a naive young girl."
Strange then noticed the Ancient One standing to the side, and also realized that it was another senior brother who was holding his wrist.
"Master, senior brother."
Before the Ancient One could even react, Strange saw Kaecilius's face, which was as black as the bottom of a pot, and automatically started to greet him again.
"The Ancient One, the Sorcerer Kaecilius."
"Strange, come with us to Washington."
"Washington?"
"That's right, you and Kaecilius are the two most talented mages in all of Kamar-Taj. I'll show you around. Willy Wonka is probably already waiting for us. Let's not waste any more time, Kaecilius, let's go."
The Ancient One's words made Strange suppress his doubts. He was also puzzled by the stark difference between the Ancient One's current state and her condition in the hospital. However, Willy Wonka's name was now even more legendary.
Willy Wonka, who has successfully taken control of the entire Washington, D.C., is in high spirits. So far, there has not been a single obstacle that can be considered a hindrance.
The two forces most likely to intervene have remained silent until now.
Odin wanted to avoid a direct confrontation with Willy Wonka, so he was unwilling to personally intervene. Asgard's main force was currently engaged in a fierce battle with the Frost Giants and had no troops available to intervene.
The sorcerers of Kamar-Taj, at the Ancient One's signal, made no move.
Such a wonderful start, it would have been even better if Dormammu, that clown-like guy, hadn't been jumping around like that.
At that moment, Willy Wonka was in the White House, sitting at the president's desk, with three steaming cups of cocoa on it.
Willy Wonka sensed the spatial fluctuations, but instead of blocking them, he granted access to the area around Washington.
So Casillas opened a portal directly to Willy Wonka's office.
"Willy Wonka, long time no see. I didn't expect you to still like hot cocoa so much."
"Ancient One, um..."
Willy Wonka wanted to say hello, but when he saw that the Ancient One was wearing a New York-Presbyterian Hospital gown, he didn't know what to say for a moment.
What's going on? It's only 2008, and Gu Yi is already preparing to quit?
"Willy Wonka, please excuse my poor appearance. I had a minor illness a few days ago and went to the hospital for some simple treatment."
The Ancient One smiled and spoke to Willy Wonka, then introduced Kaecilius and Strange to Willy Wonka as well.
"These are my two disciples, Casillas and Strange. They don't quite understand some of my decisions, and I was going to explain, but I thought it would be more convincing to bring them along when I met you."
Without anyone noticing, an extra cup of hot cocoa appeared on the table, and Willy Wonka very gentlemanly placed three cups of hot cocoa in front of the three people in Kamar-Taj.
"It's been a long time, Dr. Strange."
"Yes, Mr. Willy Wonka, I don't know how to face you. I only recently learned that you are a dimensional lord."
"Dr. Strange, calling me a dimensional demon is a bit inappropriate. I'm just an ordinary businessman who wants to take chocolate to the whole universe."
"An ordinary businessman arguing, an ordinary businessman capable of severing Dormammu's tentacles. Mr. Willy Wonka, in my opinion, is quite fitting as a dimensional demon."
Kaecilius clearly agreed with Strange's words, and as both a sorcerer of Kamar-Taj and a henchman of Dormammu, he saw more than Strange did.
Everyone on this earth has some connection to Willy Wonka. This connection isn't like the strong correlation during a dimensional invasion, and it's nothing like the relationship between Kaecilius himself and Dormammu's Dark Dimension.
It's more like a tiny seed planted by Willy Wonka, prematurely absorbing some of the "sweetness" of the world.
In Casillas's view, this was a slow erosion of reality in a covert way.
"The Ancient One and I are actually allies, and my coup was just a ploy to sell more chocolate. Do you believe me?"
Strange and Kaecilius turned to look at the Ancient One, who nodded slightly, tacitly agreeing with Willy Wonka's statement.
"Moreover, compared to me, isn't the Dark Dimension far more dangerous and more aggressive?"
In Willy Wonka's eyes, Casillas was already glowing black, belonging entirely to the dark dimension, from body to soul.
And yet he still has the nerve to criticize me? It's truly a case of turning the tables on everyone else, the pot calling the kettle black!
"Willy Wonka, I brought Kaecilius here because I want you to help me understand why it is almost impossible for him to resurrect his wife and children."
"He has almost no trust in me now, and since you are more authoritative, there's a greater chance that Casillas will believe you if you answer his questions. After all, he is still my disciple, and I don't want him to continue down this path with his inner demons."
Kaecilius sat upright, but his eyes held a longing. He no longer trusted the Ancient One after discovering that she was using the power of the Dark Dimension to prolong her life.
However, Kaecilius did not believe that Willy Wonka would collude with the Ancient One. Dormammu's power and arrogance were already etched into Kaecilius's mind, and Willy Wonka, as a fellow dimensional daemon, would certainly not deceive him.
"Casillas, fate is mysterious and unpredictable, the most difficult thing to fathom. Why did you choose magic in the first place?"
"I know without you saying a word that a large part of the reason is to resurrect your wife and children. But what if fate uses the death of your wife and children to make you a mage?"
"That's how it is now. Your becoming a mage is a fait accompli, and so is the death of your wife and children. No one can change that."
Willy Wonka didn't actually like this fate, but like Strange's hand, fate always seemed to like playing tricks on people.
