Bitter Realm: A Happy Person Traveling Across China

Chapter 15 Clouds Appear, Ping Mountain Emerges

The desolate grasslands, the eastern battlefield.

The wind seemed to stand still. The air condensed into lead, pressing heavily on the crisscrossing swords and halberds.

Shesheng Tongzi slowly raised his hand and removed the black eye patch that had covered his right eye for years.

In an instant, an even more ferocious and wild demonic aura surged into the sky. His red hair moved without wind, dancing wildly like flames. His originally cold and stern face revealed an almost ferocious and domineering nature due to the power unleashed.

The Thunder Wolf Beast appeared behind him, its low growl shaking the earth.

Tianxian Daocang had disheveled white hair, and blood kept spilling from the corner of his mouth, staining his scorched clothes red.

He felt his life slipping away rapidly as the effects of the "divine intoxication" drug burned and his injuries worsened, but the crimson in his eyes grew ever more intense and clear.

"Natural barrier... inescapable." He coughed up blood, his voice hoarse, yet tinged with an almost manic laugh. "Is your strength... limited to this? Can't withstand... my delay? Want a quick victory? Ha... haha..."

The boy offering the pardon did not answer. Words were superfluous at this point.

He gripped the Wolf Smoke Halberd with both hands, and the purple lightning crackling around its blade suddenly intensified, merging with the phantom of the Thunder Wolf Beast, a destructive power converging wildly. The surrounding air was ionized, crackling and popping, and spiderweb-like cracks spread across the ground centered on him.

"Hurricane...Wolf...Slash!"

There was no earth-shattering roar, only a deep, resonant announcement, as if from the deepest hell.

Shesheng Tongzi moved, and he and his halberd transformed into a purple lightning wolf that tore through the heavens and earth. Wherever it passed, space was distorted, the grass instantly turned to dust, and a deep, scorched ravine was plowed into the ground!

This was an attack that combined all of She Sheng's demonic energy and unleashed the power of the wolf beast. It was faster than sight could perceive and more powerful than mountains could be destroyed!

Faced with this earth-shattering blow that could neither be avoided nor blocked, a strange clarity flashed in Tianxian Daocang's eyes, only to be swallowed up by a deeper hatred and relief.

Under that extreme pressure of death, time seemed to stretch out. He remembered many things, yet it was as if he remembered nothing at all.

"Ecstasy and sorrow, beyond description; hatred of life and hatred of death, beyond name. Hah—"

The final shout was not a show of strength, but a farewell.

He abandoned his defenses and his life, pouring all his remaining vitality, all the potential stimulated by the "divine intoxication," and all the grief and resentment accumulated over half a lifetime into the broken knife in his hand!

The blade shattered. But a "blade of hatred," refined to its ultimate form and pure to the point of nothingness, was born from the broken blade and faced the destructive purple lightning wolf!

The sound of the wind, time, light and shadow, sound... everything seemed to become disordered and annihilated the moment the two came into contact.

There was no earth-shattering explosion as expected. Only a brief, deathly silence.

Then, the purple lightning slowly dissipated, and Shesheng Tongzi stood holding a halberd, his red hair hanging down, breathing slightly, his right eye flashing with lingering lightning, staring intently ahead.

Tianxian Daozang remained motionless, still in the posture of wielding his sword.

Moments later, thick gushes of blood gushed from his mouth, staining the ground beneath his feet red.

He looked down at the horrific, charred wound on his chest that had almost cleaved him in two, and then at the hilt of the knife he held in his hand.

"A stunning... technique," he murmured, his tone carrying a strange sense of satisfaction and admiration.

Shesheng Tongzi remained silent for a moment, then slowly slammed the wolf-beacon halberd to the ground with a dull thud. "You are the second to take this move."

His voice remained cold, but now carried a hint of recognition for a worthy opponent.

"Intoxicated by dreams...forgot everything..." Tianxian Daozang's voice grew weaker and weaker, his life rapidly slipping away with his blood, "But hatred...is an indelible...sorrow..."

He staggered, finally unable to hold on, and slowly fell backward.

His ambitions remained unfulfilled, his efforts thwarted, and with eyes full of hatred, he looked up at the sky. In his increasingly blurred vision, he saw tiny, cold drops of air slowly falling from that chaotic sky.

It's snow.

In this desolate wasteland of slaughter, a light snow began to fall.

Drops of white light fell on his blood-stained cheeks, on his unseeing eyes, and on the land soaked with his blood.

"Snow……"

A final, almost inaudible sigh, accompanied by a relieved smile, dissipated in the wind.

Tianxian Daocang fell into his own warm pool of blood, his eyes still open, reflecting the last, cold, and colorful snow that fell for him.

He hadn't forgotten...the snow.

That image perhaps represents the last bit of purity and obsession that remained in his heart.

A desolate wind rises, stirring his pale hair and tattered clothes; the hero, lonely and forlorn, is finally buried in the wilderness.

Almost at the same moment, on the other side of the grassland.

The duel between Yu Ren Fei Jing and Yuan Huo Tian Huang has come to an end.

Fast, indescribably fast!

The flash of the blade was like a cold, fleeting ray of moonlight chasing after a soul.

Yuan Huotianhuang maintained his sword-wielding posture, but a very thin line of blood slowly appeared on his throat.

He stared wide-eyed in disbelief at the solitary, desolate figure of the swordsman in front of him—Yu Ren Fei Jing.

Yu Renfeijing slowly sheathed his sword, the six-winged scabbard returning to stillness. His face showed no joy of victory, only a deeper loneliness and exhaustion.

He didn't look at his fallen opponent, but simply turned away silently.

Blood dripped from Yuan Huotianhuang's chest to the ground. He staggered and sat cross-legged, removing his mask. "From now on, my world is mine to rule!"

After speaking, he breathed his last, and demonic energy surged from his body towards the sky...

On the grasslands, two battles have come to an end.

Eager to support his comrades in the Realm of Nothingness, Shesheng Tongzi unexpectedly encounters Yuren Feijing, who is also concerned about his comrades, on a narrow grassy path.

Their steps stopped simultaneously.

There were no words spoken. In the instant their eyes met, an invisible yet chilling killing intent and hostility erupted in the air!

That was the fire of revenge ignited for the fallen comrades, an irreconcilable conflict between demon and knight, between killing and protecting!

The next instant, the halberd moved! The blade was drawn!

The Shesheng Boy's wolf-smoke halberd carried lingering thunderous energy, while the Feathered Man's non-monster blade was drawn with the sound of gods weeping and ghosts wailing.

There was no testing, only the most direct and intense life-or-death duel!

The wild grass was cut down in large swaths by the force of the energy, leaving new scars on the earth.

Similarly, on the third battlefield, Tunfo Tongzi and Ye Xiaochai were locked in a fierce and evenly matched battle.

Back in the Realm of Nothingness, the battle situation remains just as critical!

Distracted, Mu Shaoai sensed the killing intent emanating from the clash between Shesheng Tongzi and Yuren Feijing, and his heart sank: "Shesheng Tongzi has switched his focus to Yuren Feijing... then, Tianxian Daozang is hiding him..."

An ominous premonition instantly gripped his heart; after all, Tianxian was his good friend.

"You dare to be distracted while fighting me? Hah!" Ye Chongsheng seized this fleeting opening, unleashing his evil energy, and delivered a solid palm strike to Mu Shaoai's shoulder!

"Ah!" Mu Shaoai groaned, blood splattering from his mouth. He staggered backward, his internal energy becoming disordered, and he was immediately injured!

On the other hand, driven by a thirst for revenge, Tan Wuyu's eyes flashed with rage. Ignoring his own physical exhaustion, he unleashed his life's cultivation, transforming his abundant true essence into a blinding radiance: "Pay with your life! Drink—"

The ultimate move caused the wind and clouds to change color, and it went straight for the corpse vat!

Yan Shigang roared, pushing his demonic power to its limit, and crossed his arms to meet the deadly attack head-on!

"boom--"

With a deafening roar, Yan Shigang's supposedly indestructible body was blasted open, cracks appearing as demonic energy spilled out, and he screamed in agony, "Waaah! Ah—"

However, in his dying counterattack, at the moment the jar shattered, a fierce and malevolent energy, condensed from his life's resentment, suddenly rebounded out!

Tan Wuyu's old strength was exhausted and his new strength had not yet been generated. Caught off guard, he was struck hard in the chest by this fierce energy, and his whole body was sent flying into the air like a kite with a broken string!

Seeing this, Yao Wen and Xie Hui were instantly enraged. How could they let go of this perfect opportunity? Their deadly palm strikes, which had been ready to be unleashed, struck Tan Wuyu, who was unable to dodge in mid-air, from the left and right!

In that critical moment, a sharp sword light pierced through the air, and then—

"A sword hangs in the vast emptiness, a thousand sharp edges hidden; my body rests lightly in the boundless expanse. I laugh as I watch the vicissitudes of human life; why leave a trace to disturb the moon's brightness?"

As the verses fell, a gilded longsword struck the ground, completely neutralizing the palm strikes of the two prophets.

Immediately afterwards, a figure dressed in white, accompanied by several people adorned with gold patterns, appeared like a phantom, traversing spatial distances and stepping onto the sword hilt.

It was Ye Jinming who arrived late.

"That was really close!" Ye Jinming looked at the situation and a playful smile appeared on his lips.

Tan Wuyu was somewhat surprised to be rescued by someone. "Hmm? Who are you?"

Ye Jinming glanced at Tan Wuyu. "I am Ye Jinming, but I merely intervened to right an injustice. You can save your thanks for now!"

Tan Wuyu was speechless: I wasn't thinking of thanking you...

On the other side, Jin Bazhen's defenses collapsed under the combined attack of Guizhi and Mingjian. He was struck in the back by Guizhi's palm, staggered forward, and blood stained his clothes. He was already at his last gasp.

The dangers were beyond calculation, the defeats were unpredictable, and the shadow of death loomed over them, suffocating the righteous path. Their annihilation was imminent!

Mingjian let out a triumphant and arrogant laugh: "Hahaha! Today, none of you will escape alive!"

Just when the demonic flames raged and the righteous path was in despair—

"Huh?" Mingjian's laughter stopped abruptly, and Guizhi and the others also looked up at the same time.

Suddenly, the dark clouds on the horizon burst forth with bursts of seven-colored light, swirling and spreading an auspicious aura that dispelled most of the demonic atmosphere that had enveloped the Realm of Nothingness.

High in the sky, colorful clouds surged and grew ever more abundant, as if a colossal object was breaking through the clouds and descending upon the mortal world.

"This is..." An ominous premonition rose in the hearts of all the demons.

Gui Zhi's expression changed drastically, and he exclaimed, "Oh no! This feeling is..."

"Pingshan... Pingshan! It's Pingshan!" Despite her injuries, Jin Bazhen looked up at the sky excitedly, her eyes blazing with hope. "My dear sister! You've finally come!"

As the clouds dispersed, the phantom of a majestic and sacred immortal mountain slowly emerged amidst the radiant glow, its powerful Daoist energy sweeping across the universe!

The clear and melodious poetic chant, accompanied by the resounding Taoist chant, echoed through the heavens:

"Mountains are like duckweed, clouds are like waves, transcending the mortal world and letting the currents surge on."

A transcendent, aloof, and solitary figure stood atop Ping Mountain, overlooking the battle below. It was none other than Lian Emei, a top master of the Taoist sect!
