It was supposed to be a Mythic card set, but what the heck is this Warhammer 40k?

Chapter 97 Clues, Ji Qing Detective Agency (Seeking first subscription!)

Ji Qing Detective Agency?

Upon hearing the name, Lu Ya was stunned.

It can be said that Jiang Beiling's answer was completely different from what he had expected.

However, Lu Ya quickly realized another problem.

Why is the Ji Qing Detective Agency suddenly investigating him?

It should be noted that he had absolutely no recollection of this detective agency, and there was no connection between the two parties. Therefore, he was certain that he had no conflict with this agency.

The fact that the other party suddenly investigated me can only mean one thing.

Someone specifically hired this detective agency to investigate them.

Thinking of this, Lu Ya continued, "Do you have any detailed information about this detective agency?"

Jiang Beiling had obviously anticipated that Lu Ya would ask this question, so she had already dug up all the details about Ji Qing Detective Agency.

"The owner of this firm is named Ji Qing. He is a 32-year-old middle-aged man who is unmarried."

"It has been three years since he founded this firm."

"Moreover, this detective agency claims that, supposedly, as long as you're willing to pay, they can investigate any information you want clearly."

After listening to Jiang Beiling's words, Lu Ya nodded thoughtfully, then asked, "Sister Jiang, do you think there's anything wrong with this person?"

After pondering for a moment, Jiang Beiling replied, "Judging from Ji Qing's resume, I think there's nothing wrong with him."

"If there were any problems, this person's resume couldn't be so clean. The one with the real problems is the person who paid Ji Qing to investigate you."

Lu Ya nodded: "I think so too, but if we want to find out who's behind this, I guess we'll have to work on Ji Qing."

At this point, Lu Ya paused, then continued, "Sister Jiang, could you send me Ji Qing's address? I'd like to go and have a friendly chat with him."

This was naturally not a problem for Jiang Beiling.

However, Jiang Beiling still reminded him, "Be careful. As far as we know, although Ji Qing isn't registered with the Card Master Alliance, he should be a trainee Card Master. Should we send some people to help you?"

Faced with Jiang Beiling's question, Lu Ya thought for a moment and then chose to refuse: "Forget it, too many people will alert them."

"I can handle this kind of thing on my own."

"

Seeing this, Jiang Beiling stopped saying anything more.

After obtaining Ji Qing's address, Lu Ya hurriedly left the hotel.

Ji Qing felt that he had been having really good luck lately.

His detective agency hadn't been open for two months, and if this continued, he wouldn't even be able to pay his employees' salaries next month.

It's only a matter of time before his firm goes bankrupt.

Just when Ji Qing was at a loss about these things.

An unexpectedly large order fell from the sky and landed on Ji Qing.

The commission was made by a mysterious person.

When the other person first met Ji Qing, they were wearing sunglasses, a mask, and a hat, completely covering themselves up.

Based on Ji Qing's many years of experience in this line of work, he definitely wouldn't accept a commission from such a mysterious person.

After all, since the other party is already so shady, there must be considerable risk involved in this commission.

Unfortunately, the other party gave just too much!

This mysterious person offered Ji Qing an exorbitant price of 500,000!

Upon learning the payment for this commission, Ji Qing's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

Keep in mind, this amount of money is almost equivalent to his annual turnover!

What surprised Ji Qing the most was that he originally thought the mysterious person was asking him to investigate some noble family or dangerous person because he wanted him to pay such a high price.

To everyone's surprise, the mysterious person asked him to investigate a student majoring in card design at Lingjiang University.

This student's name seems to be... Lu Ya?

Ji Qing had never heard of this name before; one look at him and you could tell he was just an ordinary college student.

Asking a professional detective like him to investigate an ordinary college student is practically the same as asking him to pick up money on the street!

So Ji Qing agreed without hesitation, afraid that if he was slow, the mysterious man would go back on his word.

Seeing that Ji Qing was so agreeable, the mysterious man also readily paid a deposit of 200,000 yuan.

After receiving the money, Ji Qing went into overdrive, mobilizing all the staff in the firm to begin investigating Lu Ya.

But as the investigation deepened, Ji Qing also vaguely sensed that something was amiss.

Because he discovered that all information about Lu Ya seemed to have been erased by an invisible hand.

No matter how he investigated, he couldn't find any useful information.

However, Ji Qing didn't take the matter too seriously.

After all, the fact that the mysterious person was willing to pay 500,000 for this commission means that it is somewhat difficult to complete.

Therefore, Ji Qing shifted the investigation to offline methods, investigating Lu Ya by staking out Lu Ya's house.

As for whether he would be discovered doing so, Ji Qing didn't care at all.

Even if he were discovered, what could Lu Ya, an ordinary student, do to him?

If all else fails, I can just lose a little money!

He refused to believe that Lu Ya could come over and chop him up!

Thinking of this, Ji Qing felt incredibly happy, and he hummed a little tune as he returned to the entrance of his apartment.

After taking his keys out of his pocket, Ji Qing opened the door to his apartment.

Pushing open the door, I found the entire living room completely dark, with the curtains drawn tightly shut, preventing any light from getting in.

"Who's drawing the curtains so tightly?"

As Ji Qing muttered to himself, he reached out to touch the light switch in the living room.

However, halfway through his exploration, Ji Qing suddenly realized something, and his hand froze in mid-air.

You should know that he lives alone in this apartment, and he remembers very clearly that he opened the curtains before leaving this morning!

Without the slightest hesitation, Ji Qing summoned his card [Evil Wolf] and pounced into the room, while he himself turned and ran.

In fact, as a detective who specializes in digging up people's dirt and secrets, Ji Qing had long anticipated that he would be retaliated against one day, so he had made contingency plans to deal with this situation.

That is to use your cards to slow down the opponent and buy yourself time to escape.

If the opponent takes the initiative to deal with their own cards, then they have a good chance of running away.

As for the cost, it's nothing more than the destruction of a card; as long as the person is alive, the card can be remade.

Thinking of this, Ji Qing couldn't help but feel secretly pleased with his own cleverness.

"Ha, kid, trying to trick me? Keep dreaming!"

Seeing that he was about to escape, Ji Qing couldn't help but smile.

However, the next second, his body suddenly felt light, and he was lifted up by an invisible force.

"No! No!"

At that moment, Ji Qing looked at the stairwell so close by, and the smile on his face turned into despair. He could only watch helplessly as he was dragged into the room.

Then, with a "bang," the door slammed shut!
