Magic: My equipment slots have no restrictions
Chapter 23 Camp
How much further?
After clearing out two more groups of goblins, Oliver was a little out of breath. He looked at the dead dire wolf in front of him and asked...
Viktor was putting the severed pointed ear into his equipment inventory when he heard this. He first glanced at Raine, who had gone around to the belly of the dire wolf and started skinning it.
Then I looked up at the setting sun.
"We are faster than the sun."
As he spoke, he walked over to Ryan and helped him tear off the wolf skin.
Oliver nodded, knowing he could reach the nearest Camp Two before dark. His shoulders slumped naturally as he breathed heavily.
As one of only two melee fighters in the team, he will need to temporarily fill in as a warrior until his combat skills improve.
After walking for several hours, they encountered eight battles. The wanderer's physique wasn't particularly strong, and his body couldn't keep up; he should have rested long ago.
"Rip!"
A short while later, as he was reviewing the previous battle, he suddenly heard a sound beside him. Looking up, he saw that Viktor was already holding the wolf pelt.
Then it vanished into thin air.
Oliver had seen this scene many times before and was already used to it.
The same was true for Renne; there was no greed in his eyes, only an inexplicable excitement.
"Victor, I am delighted by your ring!"
In his view, a friend's magical artifacts are the team's magical artifacts, especially when that friend is his best buddy.
Victor smiled, pleased that Raine had agreed that the equipment slot should be a ring.
"Let's go."
After saying that, he walked towards the camp, glancing at the path his group had come from out of the corner of his eye.
There was no one in sight behind the trees over there.
Viktor looked away, somewhat disappointed.
He thought that if he kept stopping and starting, someone would eventually follow him and walk on this cleared road.
It seems that no one appreciates this gesture.
Compared to risking their own lives, the pointed ears that could be exchanged for silver coins were more appealing.
Thinking this, he led the two away quickly.
What Victor didn't know was that,
Shortly after they left,
Several townspeople from Beifenggang then arrived at this place.
Upon seeing the lifeless goblin on the ground and the skinned dire wolf, they almost simultaneously breathed a sigh of relief.
Then they began searching the corpses for valuable items.
They certainly gained something.
Although they didn't know whether Viktor had deliberately left these things behind, it didn't stop them from being pleasantly surprised.
"Look, these are the two sharpest teeth of a dire wolf. Didn't they notice?"
Some people excitedly held the two teeth, momentarily ignoring the stench emanating from the disgusting plaque.
Others who found a bargain were also quite delighted.
However, this pleasant atmosphere was shattered by a discordant remark:
"It's just teeth; they took the most valuable part: the wolf pelt."
The room fell silent instantly, and everyone's expressions turned grim as they stared at the man with hostile eyes.
"..."
The man wanted to say something more, but an invisible pressure had already descended upon him, making him tremble involuntarily and subconsciously take a half step back.
It was this action that caused him to step on a pebble, slip, and fall to the ground with a thud.
Even so, when the pointed ear fell out of his pocket, he rushed over in terror to protect it.
This comical sight finally elicited a few low laughs from the crowd, and the invisible pressure instantly dissipated.
"Friend, you should be grateful. If it weren't for Victor, you wouldn't have gotten the silver coins, and you might even be dead."
Someone said this, and everyone stopped looking at the person on the ground, put away what they had just obtained, and left without looking back.
......
Viktor was unaware of what was happening behind him.
As the three of them stepped into the protective array of Camp Two, the aroma of roasted meat wafted over.
What came into view were ten identical wooden huts and a few adventure teams sitting around a medium-sized campfire, roasting meat.
There were eight people in total, and they all looked tired to varying degrees.
Noticing that someone had entered the magic circle, several of them turned their gazes toward Victor and the others.
Victor wasn't really keen on greeting him, but he still managed a polite smile: "Which cabins are empty?"
Upon hearing this inexplicable opening, both teams wore strange expressions.
"Pick any of the rooms except the first one on the left and the first one on the right."
A cold-looking female mage with black hair and black eyes replied.
"Thanks."
Victor responded, glanced at the ten huts scattered on either side of the campfire, and walked to the right.
Arriving at the second house, they pushed open the door and went inside.
Oliver followed closely behind. Only Ryan glanced back before going in, but when he saw the nine men staring at him, his expression froze, and he quickly turned around and went inside.
"Click".
The wooden door closed.
The atmosphere didn't quiet down; the sizzling sound of the grilled meat continued, and the aroma grew stronger.
The female mage who had spoken earlier withdrew her gaze, reached out and grasped the longsword skewered with roasted meat, intending to flip it over.
Suddenly, a small, slender, white hand grabbed my arm and shook it violently.
"Captain, that guy who just spoke is a born bard!"
The female mage raised an eyebrow and silently flipped the roasted meat over.
"Um."
"How could this be?"
The owner of the small hand, a black-haired loli who resembled the female mage, exclaimed softly and shook the other's arm.
But the female mage remained unmoved, her cold and beautiful face showing no emotion whatsoever.
"I said."
At this moment, a handsome man with blond hair and blue eyes spoke up opposite the female mage:
"Lilith, your sister is still upset about what happened before, so don't bother her."
The black-haired little girl glanced at him, stuck out her tongue, and continued shaking her sister's arm:
"Sister, please pay attention to me."
"..."
The blond man was ignored, his smile froze, and he silently covered his face.
The other members of the two teams exchanged glances, seemingly unintentionally criticizing their two captains. Two of them even chuckled involuntarily.
"Tsk."
However, when the female mage glanced at the two of them.
The team members, who had been barely able to contain their smiles, instantly suppressed their urges, obediently lowered their heads, and silently flipped the grilled meat.
Just as the atmosphere was becoming strange and everyone was feeling uneasy.
With a "click," the second room to the right of the campfire opened.
Victor stepped out, closed the door, and sat down by the campfire.
Under everyone's watchful eyes, he casually began to speak:
"Let's exchange some information."
The blond man who had been covering his face slowly lowered his hand, a look of confusion on his face.
His teammate next to him chuckled softly.
"What information could a little brat like you possibly have?"
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone else wore mocking expressions, seemingly agreeing with his statement.
But the female mage frowned slightly.
She noticed as soon as Victor came in that the boy was the leader of the three, meaning he was the captain.
Moreover, although the three had worn-out protective gear and bloodstains, they were in good condition.
When she looked at Viktor again, her eyes were filled with undisguised curiosity.
Although he still looks somewhat young, he is indeed handsome, and his dark eyes under his black hair are incredibly deep, making him look much more mature.
He didn't resemble a flamboyant bard at all; instead, he seemed more like a composed and seasoned adventurer.
"I agree."
