Chapter 2 [2] Green Forest Equivalent Exchange
Chapter 2 [2] Green Forest Equivalent Exchange
The newcomer's collar was stained with oil, and his hair was disheveled, as if he had just woken up from a dream.
Its slightly dark skin, the scratches on its cheeks from the unknown creature, and the stinging pain as it chewed made it furrow its brow.
Seeing Wang Ya's indifferent face, his brows relaxed again. He wiped his oily hands on his clothes and said somewhat fearfully, "Don't be like that. We're in the same boat, both of us have been excluded."
"I just woke up late and missed a hot meal. We both chose the same extraordinary cultivation method, so can't you give me a kind smile?"
"Perhaps you could wash your hands first to get rid of that moldy, rotten clam smell on you," Wang Ya said, his lips moving slightly.
"No, no, no, you don't understand. This is the scent of a mature man, a badge of honor worthy of praise."
The boy named Gray said, "I've always felt that the cultivation of the extraordinary is no less than that of humans. So what if it's elemental energy? I reckon that if these guys were given six months in the Underdark, they wouldn't even be able to start a single flame."
"The 'Ancient Physique' cultivation technique, applied to my 'Kobik,' has yielded remarkable results. His claws have begun to change, and his temperament has become increasingly irritable."
The boy, revealing his yellowed teeth, said confidently, "I'm sure I can master this witchcraft in less than five months."
A cold-blooded lizard with dry, brown skin immediately came to Wang Ya's mind.
The ancient constitution is indeed a good fit for cultivating witchcraft.
He also understood that the irritable temperament and scratching of its owner were due to the fact that the seeds of consciousness left by the spiritual perception were not deeply rooted.
Once the witchcraft cultivation is complete, the seed of consciousness can transform into a consciousness imprint, thereby perfectly controlling the extraordinary cultivated creature.
This slovenly guy, despite his hard work, clearly hasn't found the right way to plant the seeds of consciousness.
The subtle, gradual influence of one's mindset can be counterproductive if one is anxious; haste will only produce the opposite effect.
Wang Ya didn't say anything or offer any comment, but simply nodded slightly. "Compared to elemental energy, the cultivation of extraordinary beings is indeed simpler in terms of its foundation. In the context of the wizarding system, they represent two different paths for wizards."
The relationship between the two parties is at the most basic level of familiar friends.
Only those two chose to undergo extraordinary training.
New students generally believe that they are the ones who are strong, and that is the right thing to do.
There is nothing wrong with that.
But basic witchcraft is not enough to determine the path of a wizard.
One needs to learn a great deal of wizarding knowledge and clarify one's goals before the path of a wizard gradually takes shape.
"You're all laughing so happily, but when you get to the Underdark and can't finish the witchcraft course in six months, you'll be crying."
Gray gave the middle finger to the heated atmosphere in the arena.
The two left from the shadowy corner.
Arthur sensed something, glanced at it disdainfully, and then looked away. A mediocre talent with low aptitude choosing the extraordinary cultivation series shows his ambition; he wasn't even worth his attention.
The salty sea breeze whipped against his cheeks, his hair disheveled. On the deck, Gray yawned. "See you tomorrow, Wang Ya."
"See you tomorrow."
The night at sea is deep, as dark as ink, so dark you can't see your hand in front of your face.
Pulling up his collar, the corridor lights stretched his shadow long and narrow, and the vibrations under his feet were the sound of steam power driving gears.
The tremors in the bow area had become minimal. Stepping on the red carpet, Wang Ya looked at the red wooden door in front of him. Before he could knock, a hoarse voice came from inside.
"Come in."
A black robe wrapped around his thin body, and beneath the hood, his skin, dry as tree bark, clung to his bones, and a pair of sunken eyes were fixed on Wang Ya.
"Greetings, Venerable Wizard Tuta."
This was Wang Ya's second time entering the captain's cabin. The spacious area was lit only by a few candles, and the heavy darkness oppressed the dim light. There seemed to be a faint smell of blood in the air.
Bow slightly to express your respect.
The wizard Tuta sat on the sofa, shrouded in shadow, his expression obscured. Beneath his long robes, his wrinkled, drooping right hand reached out and grasped a wooden box.
Wang Ya's gaze was fixed on it; it was the most important thing to him.
"Young souls carry vibrant energy; they are truly inspiring."
The wizard Tuta said with emotion, "That little guy was almost bleeding to death, but he still managed to crawl to me."
"Wang Yahalak, you are lucky. You are lucky to have the aptitude of a wizard, and you also have good luck."
The box was opened, revealing a grim-looking finger bone.
Wang Ya's mood was heavier than her gaze.
The memories of the Kingdom of Harak, buried in ruins, and buried deep in his heart, resurfaced.
The king had many children, whose wisdom and prowess in their youth could not outweigh their tyranny and incompetence in their later years.
Palace maids, servants, and prostitutes all bore him children.
Lu Sen and Wang Ya were born together, as one of hundreds of princes and princesses.
In the cold palace, the two depended on each other.
Ten years later, complaints and chaos arose everywhere.
Life in the palace remained monotonous. Green Forest, who always followed him around, had grown hair that was greener than nature itself, and would force him to drink all sorts of nutritional supplements, acting like a domineering housekeeper.
Only four years after the war began, the city walls were covered with the heads of high-ranking officials, and the young king committed suicide on his throne.
Everything changed. Even if he suddenly awakened his innate wisdom, remembered his past life, and gained the Eye of Truth... it was all too late. He had no power to change anything.
He would be beheaded and his head hung on the city wall, ending amidst the cheers and shouts of the common people.
The fear of death made him experience it again, and it was extremely similar to the feeling of sudden death from shock after staying up all night playing games in his previous life.
The ending was different. It was his sister, Green Forest Harak, who rode into the inner city with unparalleled speed and ignoring the enemy troops. She picked him up like a chick and carried him onto her horse.
Then they left the war-torn city.
He was stunned.
But abnormal power comes at a price; the forest of long hair vanishes with the wind, and flesh and blood dissipate into nothingness.
He embraced the grim skeleton, fell off his horse, and used his back to bear the impact of the rubble.
When he opened his eyes again, the figure in black robes stood close by, removed his hood, and revealed a sinister smile. "Wang Yahalak, you really are as that little guy said, possessing wizarding aptitude, albeit rather mediocre one. So, shall we come with you?"
"Although I've kept her soul in her finger bone, it won't last long. There are some solutions, but you'll have to pay a price," Wizard Tuta added. "And there's the price for me stabilizing her soul."
The price can be magic stones, extraordinary items, or resources, as long as they are equivalent.
This is one of the essential principles of the wizarding world: the principle of "equivalent exchange".
"Of course, I can allow you to owe these costs temporarily."
